I think what makes Feathers so iconic is the whole idea of him, on paper, he sounds like a James Bond villain but he just happens to be in the body of a penguin, one of the most harmless animals, which adds the comical element to work within the Wallace and Gromit world, another thing to point out is, much like Gromit, he is aware of how stupid most of the humans are, but unlike Gromit, he uses it for his own plans, great video BTW :)
Exactly! This is EXACTLY what makes him so successful so that is amazing you have recognised that! 😁 He is a perfectly written character! Thank you so much for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed!! Merry Christmas and I hope to see you back again! 😊🎄
one of the best parts is that, as a penguin, his face is very simple and SHOULD be cute. but it's terrifying. he has a near constant alien expression you just cannot read.
Feathers coming back is all well and dandy. But I hope Cooker will one day make a return to the series. At least we finally got its backstory in Star Wars Visions.
Wallace didn't create the techno trousers he bought them from NASA. He does say that they're ex-NASA and cost him a lot of money, hence the reason he had to let his spare room out to try and get back some of the money he spend so he could pay his bills.
I grew up with Trumpton, the Wombles, even Paddington, all stop motion. And of course Morph, first with Tony Hartt, and then in his own show. Ardmann have taken stop motion to a whole new level, initially with the British Gas Creature Comforts adverts, followed up with their own show, and of course Wallace and Gromit. The latest is fantastic, a brand new story which fits the three main characters (W&G and Feathers).
Another time Feathers McGraw has returned is in the Wallace & Gromit Comic from Panini magazine, which came out on a monthly basis in 2005 to help promote Curse of the Were-Rabbit at the time. Issues 6 and 7 had a two part story of Feathers escaping prison and getting Wallace to invent some new Techno Trousers and Techno Arms to help with a robbery of golden bricks. I won't spoil but if you find the comic strip online or a second hand copy of the magazines then they are worth a read.
Chicken Run takes place in late 1953, (as seen on a newspaper in the sequel) September or October at the earliest and the escape happens on either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd of November. Chicken Run 2 would then take place in 1963 as that’s when nuggets were invented
So let get this straight: Feathers began his life of crime in early 1960s. Wallace and Gromit seems to take place in the 90's so this mf was on this shit for 30 years! Then he was caught by Trumper from Shaun the Sheep, which seems to take place in the early 2010s. THATS AN OLD ASS PENGUIN

Wallace didn’t build the robo trousers he bought them (I always assumed from nasa themselves), that’s why they’re tight on money and need to rent out the room.
The first chicken run takes place somewhere between WW2 or 1960s Yorkshire while the sequel dawn of the nugget takes place in 1962 3 years after the first so the first one would take place in 1959 but Wallace and Gromit takes place 1990s Britain so it kinda makes sense that feathers McGraw is seen in dawn of the nugget, probably he was younger back then in CR2 due to the fact that penguins can live up to 15-20 years
But then it doesn’t make sense due to the technology seen in Chicken Run 2 that’s the predicament! Of course of of the chickens supposedly served in the War which is great eveidence of when it’s set but then that has been completely thrown out the window with some of the tech and items seen the sequel. It’s very possible that Wallace and Gromit takes place years after Chicken Run and that Feathers is with them in Dawn of the Nugget, the only issue is that if he DID purchase the gloves from Wendolines shop (as it is suggested) then he wouldn’t have the glove on his head in the sequel. The timeline physically cannot make sense without more clarity :/
@@LuisLovesFilm this is true, but the technology of the 60s where pretty advanced, also not to mention the design of the van that takes Molly away and the sir eats a lot van being models that resembles the vans of the 1950s and 1960s. You are right about the tech seen in the film being Way too advanced for the 60s, but I’d probably put that down as the tension plot point of the film. Due to the fact the farm of the first movie resembling the average British home front farm. It really doesn’t make sense that Mrs tweedy would have the tech to make fun land farms. That’s where I’m baffled about it, also there were a lot of buildings that represented futuristic design, for example Disney lands house of the future. (A bit of real life diving here) there were a lot of technological advancement due to the Second World War. So I do think AARDMAN took this and thought “hey let’s make this and over exaggerate it” With the traps I genuinely agree with you that the evidence is completely irrelevant when AARDMAN reveals the technology in the farm. I feel like it’s both due to it being fiction and for creativity or perhaps showing how Mrs tweety has probably learned from her mistakes from the first film. Like with the chicken mind control stuff I think that is for comedic purposes. We gotta remember that this is a cartoon that takes heavy inspiration from mission impossible, so a lot of technology would be over complicated due to the fact that it’s fictional, a lot of media do tend to take historical events and eras and add impossible technology into said era. Also with the glove situation it’s probably a different brand or something like that, it is known that feathers McGraw is introduced before wendoline is even introduced in a close shave 2 years after the wrong trousers still with the glove on, maybe he did steal it or maybe he has worn that stanky glove on his head for 20 years 😂. His backstory maybe explained in vengeance most foul.
To be honest the Wallace and gromit franchise is quite all over the place with introducing new characters and forgetting about old one like in the were rabbit where we see the town folk of wallaby st. Also in the telltale game they’re all completely changed. It’s quite confusing 🫤 although it could just be an Easter egg and just to get W&G fans excited. You do make some very good points though.
@ yeah that’s a FANTASTIC explanation, thank you so much for these comments! I fully agree and tbh I think however they will show off this Norbot Gnome will confirm more when W&G takes place. Of course if it uses modern tech it’ll be more confusing but if they still have dated tech in anyway then it could solidify that 1960s era! It’s a tricky one, especially we we don’t ever actually get dates!
It's strange seeing Feathers McGraw in the first Chicken Run movie. The other Wallace and Gromit movies such as Curse of the Ware-Rabbit, A Close Shave and A Matter of Loaf and Death, the 2008 short film, this maybe the first scene of Feathers McGraw because of the ladder and the missing penguin poster or that could be another penguin?
@@datprawn4850 indeed!! We do cover that in the video itself 😁 Not that he should have appeared as Aardman never actually gave permission to use him but 😂
@savvadance7006 not really, a movie wouldn’t be able to be created in a zoetrope. A zoetrope is a series of images with different movement intervals (much like any animation) however because of what the system is it’s not possible to create an animation longer than a few seconds. The system uses a circular system which means it plays in a loop - a ‘movie or film’ would not work, only small animated sequences such as the ones shown in my video. You are correct though WGH did found it in 1833. The first Animated ‘Movie’ in terms of feature films was Snow White in 1923 and the first fully 3D feature was 1995 Toy Story 😊
