35 years and still as smashing as ever. The gold standard for stop motion and British humor alike. I adore this duo and hope they persist for years to come.
The 3 original Wallace & Gromit shorts are very nostalgic parts of my childhood and I have always been fascinated by the style. I rewatched them after having forgotten all of the details and all the nostalgic memories came flooding back 😅😊
This is why I love this channel. I had been a Wallace and Gromit fan since "A Grand Day Out" premiered in the US but I had no idea of most of the back story of how it was made, the Christmas broadcast tradition, or just all the other little shorts, commercials and marketing that had happened between releases. And Shawn the Sheep is arguably an even bigger property. Wow.
Wow, Dave, Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep were my childhood shows when I was five or six. I remember when my childhood teacher gave me a Shaun the Sheep bag as a gift.

As a Wallace & Gromit fan I’m excited for the new film to come out on Christmas Day. Plus I am sure that Peter Sallis (the original voice actor for Wallace) would be proud of Ben Whitehead (the new voice of Wallace) continuing his legacy character.
Thank you for this documentary Dave! I didn't see much of Wallace and Gromit as a kid, so I really don't anything about them. I'm really eager to learn about their history!
Got introduced to this Series because a 65 Year Old Grandmother recorded the Shorts from 1989 until 2008 on VHS for her only Grandchild and then was 3 More Shorts, 1 Film and she would have 3 more Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren!!! I am the Youngest Grandchild of that 65 Year Old Grandmother who recorded them!!! She would be 100 this Year!!! I saw the Film Today after rewatching all the Media Prepare for the Second Movie, and Thought of her!!!! Because of My Grandma, I love everything Aardman does!!! This was the First Wallace and Gromit Feature but the Fourth Aardman Movie since her Passing Since 2018 and I Still Miss her!!! This was the First Wallace and Gromit Feature since I got my own Little Gromit...My Christie!!! She is like Gromit and I love her!!!
American studios have no respect for American audiences they just assume the audience is too stupid to understand 'sophisticated' British humour when in reality theres nothing sophisticated about it, it's just funny. I liked were rabbit and didnt even know it had been dumbed down for U.S audience
I haven't watched that much Wallace and Gromit back in the day (until around the 2020's) but MAN did I grew up with Shaun the Sheep, both on CBBC and DVD!
14:56 "too British"?? but Wallace and Gromit "ARE" British so what the hell is dreamworks complaining about?? it annoys me when these American critics come along judging Wallace and Gromit for the wrong reasons because they clearly know nothing about British movie production
All that matters to them is whether they can market the film overseas, and they assume the audience is dumb/ turned off by other countries’ cultures, which is a shame as restricting to only the most generic releases is precisely what encourages said ignorance.
@@louisesargent5006 man its just wrong and disgusting for any kind of business in general to discriminate other peoples cultures and ways of living all over a kids movie it just sets a bad example for what America is really all about i'm glad I don't live in the US
With all due respect to Gumby and Pokey, Wallace and Gromit are the TRUE Claymation duo. I saw the first two on PBS when they actually cared about getting pledge money, and I've been a massive fan ever since. I'm incredibly excited about their new cartoon adventure, and am looking far more forward to that than Christmas. Personally, I'd say a lot of Wallace's very specific part of Britain manner of speech (i.e. "Cracking Toast Gromit") really adds to the character's charm and dorkiness. And of course, Gromit's "the things I put up with" style of mime just sells the characters perfectly. That said, am I the only one that thinks the Farmer from Shaun the Sheep is low key the funniest looking character in animation? He's like he wandered out of a Far Side comic strip with the dopiest smile known to man.
