I’m amazed. I’m in Santa Ana and this is inspirational. I moved here two years ago and planted 5 new fruit trees and have a huge avocado tree and two orange trees that were here already. . I have two raised beds that have been very unsuccessful. No sun in winter is one issue- I have a frustrating sun shade issue. I have broccoli in my front garden amongst my flowers that are thriving because of our rain. I love my little Tudor house in Floral Park , a historic neighborhood and am trying to create a proper cottage garden. I also have three chickens- Miss Marple, Miss Rosemary , and Mrs. Thyme Named after my favorite British sleuths.
Good to know!
I’ve struggled before around same area with little sun issues when I lived in an Anaheim apartment complex. I found that choosing varieties that are part shade or fast growing helps with the sun issue. I live in a home where I get full sun by most of my garden beds now but I still plan to have gardens in the shadier areas 😅 never enough room. Good luck in Santa Ana!
Very Beautiful Harvesting
If i was you i would have grown, all berries in the world black berry, blue berry, strawberry apples, grapes, jamuns, etc etc. ❤️
Beautiful garden. For the pest control you can use plant based dish soap and any oil to spray the underside of the mandarin leaves.
Thanks for the tip!
Your garden is lovely as always. Would you please feature the recipe for the moringa leaves with lentils on a future episode? That looked delicious
I'd also like the soup made with banana stalks.
Very good video. In Sacramento 9b I use inexpensive screen door cloth to protect my bracicas , much cheaper and just as effective as "garden cloth". Nice to see your harvest. We have radish, beets, cauliflower and broccoli ready to pick at this time too. I like to succession plant and so I have new seeds out for spinach and radish and onions and broccoli. Nice to be able to plant these varieties before it gets too hot. Thanks for the video
Thankyou sir for this info..
Beautiful garden great harvesting video thanks for sharing
Glad you liked it!
Great Video! Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
Great video and harvest! We grow a lot of mandarins and they produce more fruits if fruits are cut from the trees 😊
Good to know!
How have you been tackling the constant rainfall Southern California has been getting lately??
It's actually good, plants are thriving!
How to get rid of slugs? I have it in my 1 of tomato and onion bed.
See ua-cam.com/video/Y-xtlrlT_uU/v-deo.html
Beautiful harvest. How do you use the hummingbird tree leaves? Have you addressed that in another video?
Yes I did post a recipe in one of my prior monthly episode videos
@@CaliforniaGardening Perfect. I'll watch it now. Thanks so much.
And which lettuce is good. I eat only iceberg lettuce from store, never tried any other but coming Jun I what to plant one.
I'm in Riverside. Trying to grow brussel sprouts in containers for the first time. Planted seeds at the end of October. It's sprouting but it doesn't seem to get any taller/more leaves. Are you growing brussel sprouts this season? I am not seeing any on your garden tour.
I grew Brussel sprouts last year. They do grow quote big
How many cauliflower do you put in a whiskey barrel
Two are perfect, three are ok
I'm trying to find out what netting your using at the end. How wide is the bed you just covered? You mentioned the Plex pipe was cut to 6'6'length. We want to incorporate it to our garden. Thank you.
The bed is 3 ft wide
I am trying kohlrabi. Alot of seeds sprouted. Do I need to thin them?
Yes thin them like I did in the second container (whiskey barrel)
