  • ANOTHER FERTILITY SPECIALIST | OUR JOURNEY THROUGH RECURRENT MISCARRIAGE & UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY
    ---------------------------------------------------
    Hello lovely people!
    Happy New Year! :)
    Thought it was an ideal time to recap our journey so far, as well as share with you what was discussed in our recent appointment with a new fertility specialist. The process of trying to get to the bottom of our recurrent miscarriages & unexplained infertility has been a long road, but I'm hoping we're finally getting the answers we need..!
    If you are currently feeling helpless in your journey, please know you're not alone. I encourage you to continue to keep up the fight & don't be afraid to ask questions!
    I truly hope sharing my story will be able to help someone else's, & perhaps even shed light on things you may not have been aware of. That is the beauty of this community & I want to help in any way I can! The autoimmune side of things can certainly be quite complex, but it's just a matter of finding a doctor who isn't narrow minded & set in their ways!
    Please see below link to a helpful video re immune dysfunction & how it could very well play a role in your unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriage, recurrent failed IVF transfers, or secondary infertility etc, plus another video below that might make it a little easier to understand the basics of immunology. Both videos are from the Sher Fertility Clinic.

    Wishing each of you all the success in your journeys, & hope 2018 is a kind year full of many little miracles!

    As a future doctor, over the last few years you've given me incredible insight into patient care . I aspire to go into a division of reproductive medicine and the perspective I've gained from your journey is priceless. I think all medical students need to invest more of their time watching channels like your own to build up a decent bedside manner and learn what it takes to actually serve a patients physical and emotional needs properly.
    I am so happy that you are getting more answers and possible pathways via which you'll build a beautiful family.
    I have said this a few times in the comments, but I truly believe that someone can only endure so much heartbreak without having something absolutely incredible waiting on the other side. I am praying for you and Tim, and can't wait to see what this well deserved miracle is waiting for you in the future!
    xx

      Sarah Emily Oh that is so amazing- you are most certainly going to be one incredible doctor! 🙌🏼 If only there were more drs out there who are as aware & empathetic as you! I know for sure that all of your future patients are going to be SO grateful to have you by their side during such a difficult time & process. Thank you so so much for your continued support & prayers! 💕 xx

    I'm so sorry you had to go through all this. But I'm so glad you are such a good advocate for yourself. I started trying to get doctors to look at me saying something wasn't right after the birth of my daughter. Then after an extremely scary life threatening pregnancy with my second I kept saying something was wrong. Two miscarriages, one going to 13w4days as a missed miscarriage (we saw a heart beat at 9weeks) and years of complaining something was wrong. My periods were so heavy, huge clots, 10-14 days long... they ruled out common issues and just said "take birth control". I've told you many times that I finally had a doctor look at me and agree. He actually was seeing me as a gyno before he was my OB with my third miscarriage (but second in a row) and said "I will not allow you to have to miscarry three times in a row to meet guidelines" (my first was before my first living child. What a relief! He found I had autoimmune disorder, anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome (APS). Mild but still enough to cause all my issues. Told me trauma can cause it to start and delivering a baby is traumatic. Hence the scary pregnancy with my second.
    I also tell people to be strong advocates because my sister had a stillbirth because a doctor wouldn't listen to her. She said she had a bladder infection and he dismissed her. Finally she got tested after begging for three days. They didn't even test it right there. They sent it away. Never called her to tell her she had Ecoli!! It spread to the uterus and Joe died because of his neglect care. It was extremely heart breaking it really is important for people to talk to others, read up on it... and find a doctor who will listen.
    Now I need to go watch your next video.

    • @TimandCeleste
      @TimandCeleste  6 років тому

      Gosh, isn't it outrageous that no one would listen to you after just ruling out the common issues.. So glad you found such a caring & switched on doctor to help you get to the bottom of your heartbreaking losses!
      My heart aches so much for your sister- the negligence she experienced & the precious life that could've been saved.. Just tragic. I could not agree more with the importance of talking to others, finding a doctor who will listen, & listening to your gut instinct. Sending love to you & your sister xxx

    I'm so glad you got some answers. I am so impressed by your determination to be your own advocate. It can be so hard to go into a doctor's office and openly disagree or suggest things - but we on this journey need to remember that while they have the training they still work for us and are hired by us and therefore must listen to us and give us respect, options, and creativity when needed in our treatments. Good for you, Celeste! I have hope for you for 2018 and am praying that this new specialist will be the key to maintaining a healthy pregnancy for you. So much love from Brooklyn, NY!

      It can definitely be difficult when you're sitting face to face with a doctor who isn't open to listening to other thoughts & ideas.. I think for some drs their egos are too large to take suggestions from a patient.. Thank you so much for your kind words & prayers! xx

    I’m so glad you have found a specialist with compassion who will listen to you. It seems that too often specialists get somewhat arrogant and don’t remember that patients deserve answers for their body and have a right to any test they feel is necessary. Praying that this new doctor will lead you to your take home baby. Blessing to you and Tim. 💕

    Oh Celeste I so feel for you! Continue to be brave and don’t give up. I will include you in my daily prayers for you and hubby to be blessed this year. It’s very hard I know. 33 years ago I was told I had stage 4 endometrioses. They didn’t know much about it. Many surgeries and clomid helped me have my daughter but later we adopted a son. Your spirit and strength is amazing. God bless you. 🙏💕

    My heart breaks for what you have been going through. We experienced early loss after transferring our only 2 PGS normal embryos. (One of the embryos struggled during thaw) We had baby aspirin and prednisone for that cycle. I did not tolerate the prednisone well. We added intralipids for our 2nd cycle, and eliminated the steroid. My doctor thought the steroid causes too much stress on my body and the risk out-weighed the benefit. Everything else remained the same for our transfer protocol which included HCG boosters, baby aspirin and estrace and progesterone in oil. I sought out alternative therapies (acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, mental health) I also added lugol’s iodine and increased my dose of omega 3 fatty acids. We transferred our only 1 PGS normal embryo from IVF #2 and it worked. 💕 I admire your perseverance and courage and look forward to your next video. Hoping this is the year you get your miracle. What a lucky baby it will be to have you as their mom. Sending you extra love and support. ❤️

    I'm liking what this Dr had to say. I have a good feeling he is the right kind of Dr. for you. He appreciates your research and the fact that you are your own advocate. He seems like he actually is invested in helping you. I think your plan of action is the right plan for you. It is what I would do in your place. I also like the fact that he supports the use of aspirin. Even if it weren't effective unless there was a good reason not to (because of other medication) I can't see what harm it would do. I personally believe it is what helped me get my babies. I know of other women that have had success with it.
    I'm so happy and hopeful for you! I really believe this new plan is the answer. It's all down to you and not giving up and not just going with what you have been told. You are doing an amazing job at being your own/and your babies' advocate. You've got this!

    • @TimandCeleste
      @TimandCeleste  6 років тому

      Yes! It was so nice to come across a specialist who appreciates my research rather than is threatened by it. There can be too much ego involved with these specialists sometimes..! Thank you so much for your kind & encouraging words! How are you going?

    • @ljcl1859
      @ljcl1859 6 років тому

      Things are going pretty well. (knock on wood) I am so blessed, some minor health issues the beginning of the year, but things are looking better. My biggest issue right now is dealing emotionally with how quickly my rainbows are growing up. It goes by in the blink of an eye.
      One positive to the infertility journey is that I still have mine at home for a few more years, the other Mom's my age have kids going off to college. I'm so not ready for that yet. I know you will appreciate that my kids have been my focus since the start of my infertility journey. I don't regret my decisions to focus on them rather than a career but I may need to reinvent myself when they do go off to college. My daughter will soon be 14 and my son 12, it really is true that time flies when you are having fun. I swear to you it seems like yesterday she was four. I was a little teary eyed the other day, and my girl patted my head and said I'm not that grown up yet.
      I have been thinking about you going into the new year, and how difficult it is to say "this is our year" once again..and the thought that comes to mind is "The Best is Yet to Be". I believe you have finally found your answers and your Doctor. You have done such a great job of being your own advocate, and fighting for answers. Not being afraid to keep looking for answers and when you didn't get the right ones to find someone who would listen. Sharing your journey is so very brave, you have helped so many people. You are a warrior!

    I had four seven week miscarriages, and three 9 to 13 week sized fetus miscarriages, and three 14.5 week sized miscarriages, and one full term healthy baby...the third pregnancy if eleven natural conceptions. I tried blood thinner and aspirin on 2007 pregnancy and steroids 20mg and progesterone on 2010 pregnancy...and both these were seven week pregnancy. Only one fetus had trisomy...Patau, fatal. You are my hero, my hope for better future. I never heard of LMIT...I never tried folate instead of folic acid, or IvG infusions which seem from videos to work better than intralipids, HRC videos..human reproduction centre, USA. I dealt with NHS and also private testing..Dr Lesley Regan in London. My two consultants did not believe in autoimmune causes......and their beliefs affected what I was offered instead of trying new experimental treatments. I am old now and interested in one last try...maybe with PRP ovarian injections to produce stronger eggs...but I would still need autoimmune treatment too. You give me hope...when that is all I have left....even for others and not myself anymore. XxX. You are a hero and brave, please please keep going...I had five natural conceptions even over age 40, and cycle every 28 days over 50, keep going at this full tilt as so many want you to get your baby.

    Try the Atkins diet or the keto diet I've know people who had many failed ivf and miscarriages and as soon as they did this they held on to the baby. Reason: humans are animals, we need Fat, protien, and lots of fats.also they did the intralipids 14 days before ovulation and as soon as they get a positive pregnancy test they did another lipid infusion. Do not workout, because your sweating out your hormones and fats. U need to build fats alot alot. I hope this will help. The continue with the infusions every 3 weeks until the 24th week.

    Love your video's! I have been through 5 miscarriages myself. I also do not absorb folic acid. We have been through a lot when it comes to infertility. I have had the majority of this tests done as well. All of my tests came back normal except my folic acid absorption and my progesterone levels. I am just wondering if they have checked your progesterone? I am sure they have but I was just wondering. After everything was figured out I was put on Clomid, folic acid supplements along with my prenatal vitamins and progesterone. First month of trying I was pregnant. Went full term amd had a healthy baby boy. A little over a year later my husband and I wanted another child, pregnant first month of trying. This time we were pregnant with twins! They were born full term and healthy. I am a firm believer that you have to be your own advocate. I was lucky, i had a great relationship with my doctor which is also important. I wish you the best of luck and I have faith that you will soon have your rainbow baby! If it can happen for me it can happen for you! Sending you lots of baby dust!!

    You are amazing! You should write a book! I love how you are not afraid to take on the system when you know the answers are out there!
    Is there a go fund me account? If not would like you to start one so I can donate? Keep going, You are an advocate and wealth of knowledge for other infertility challenged families!

      Oh you're so lovely to suggest a go fund me account, but your kind & encouraging comments are support enough! If my story can help other couples through their infertility journey, it will make it all worthwhile & bearable in the meantime :)

    I just want to say, please hold on to hope. I had 6 confirmed early misses and a couple of others that weren't, before I went on to be blessed with my son (now 16) Without IVF, as my ex husband didn't believe in seeing Dr's and stuff. I only found out years later that I had a really rare hormone imbalance that meant my chances of being able to conceive and carry a baby to term, all naturally would have been about 1,000,000 to 1.

    Your so incredibly strong & such an inspiration. Question what would the success rate be if you received this new treatment? Also would this new specialist be able to provide this treatment while trying naturally? Or even as part of the course before the next transfer of your frozen embro. I know that you mentioned it was not good quality but at this point if the treatment isn't rediculous why not try

    • @TimandCeleste
      @TimandCeleste  6 років тому

      TheAnnav123 Thank you! Success rate if I have this LIT treatment along with prednisone, Clexane, aspirin & intralipids to lower my NK cell levels is apparently 80%. Just trying not to get my hopes up though. We’ll have to wait & see. And yes, we’ll be doing the treatment whilst trying naturally. The LIT lasts for 6 months, so if we don’t fall pregnant naturally, & decide to transfer our last embryo, it’ll still be effective :)

    I’m in melbourne too and TTC for a year. Have you tried acupuncture yet? I am taking Chinese medicine and receiving acupuncture treatment . I had a laparoscopy 3 weeks ago, and was diagnosed with Fallopian tubes spasms on both sides. My acupuncturist is quite confident Chinese medicine herbs and acupuncture would be able to fix that. Hopefully it works. By the way, I like your videos, and totally understand how you feel.

      Thank you :) Yes, I've tried acupuncture. I wasn't a massive fan though to be honest- didn't really find it relaxing so stopped. Chinese herbs can definitely do great things, so hopefully it helps in your case! Wishing you all the best!

      Rita S Absolutely. Part 2 of this video, (yet to be uploaded), I read a bit from a really helpful book I would highly recommend. Have you heard of ‘Is My Body Baby Friendly’, by Dr Alan Beer?

      Tim and Celeste i have indeed :) I had the test done back in summer of 2016, I have had a series of treatment including intripilids, IVIG, humira, prednisolone. I have had everything you can throw at my immunes to help them reduce and thus aid implantation (I have had 5 failed transfers). Happy to chat if you have any questions :) this journey is tough but we will get through it :) x

    • @ritas1491
      @ritas1491 6 років тому

      Tim and Celeste sadly the treatment hasn’t worked in reducing my levels. After our last follow up we are now testing out a new drug to see if that works. In the meantime I have seen a nutritionist to help reduce inflammation in my body (i do think it’s diet related) as all tests have come back fine. I am having good strength omega 3 as that can reduce inflammation in the body and taking curcumin as I have read that helps too! Good luck and really hope it all works for you :) x

    Hello beautiful, try this. it doesn’t hurt you in anyway. Just try to ask GOD for forgiveness a lot every day all day. Mostly the times you are alone, have the faith in GOD. Believe me if GOD wants to gift you with a baby, he will. Try this and may GOD be with you in every step of your journey.
