Emppu solo, Marco killing it, Jukka pounding those drums. Floor gentle Angel start to turbocharged belt at the end. A perfect example of a track from this whole concert. The whole band revved up to the max and Floor absolutely stamping HER position as the the Nightwish singer. Loved your reaction and agree with every word.
One of their quieter songs and yet so much energy. It's a Nightwish classic.
Tuomas the Nightwish keyboardist is who directs/writes/and choreographs each band member, they become what Tuomas writes. :) And THAT is what makes this band so good!!
Bru....Long time Bro. "They kill it every time". Your face lights up when you hear her, then Marco add a primo solo, some double bass. Why punish yourself by fasting on Nightwish. I know there are many good bands to react to but, how many of them put that look on your face. I'm a happy guy, will be seeing them in 9 days in LA, can't wait. Yes, Emppu can shred. The one you saw in Romanticide might be the best example of that, it's my favorite one. And, yes, they aren't out there to show off, they play what the song needs.
Floor has said that this is one of the more challenging songs for her to sing.
When you come back around to Nightwish, try 7 Days to the Wolves and Yours is an Empty Hope (Wembley show). Or I Want My Tears Back and Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean(Buenos Aires)
A couple other bands to try in symphonic metal, both Dutch:
Epica (lead singer Simone Simons) - The Skeleton Key, Consign to Oblivion, Unchain Utopia, Beyond the Matrix.
Within Temptation (lead singer Sharon Den Adel) - Ice Queen, Shot in the Dark, Shed My Skin, Paradise.
never got to see NW live but Jukka the drummer is best ever seen, and seen alot live. this was a special night. was not there but seen the best live and consider this best concert.
So,.... This song, believe it or not ,at that time, was the hardest song for Floor (vocally).
But ,...THIS IS Floor Jansen Ladies and Gentlemen !!!! Also, Marko really showing off on this one 😁.
And Emppu's solo always serves a song.

Emppu, you are right, he can shred but it doesn't fit most Nightwish songs. Try Shudder Before the Beautiful. He is quite brilliant - a master.
It's my opinion that Emppu is underrated because he doesn't show off. Instead he prefers musicality and to me that makes him more of a naster.

Before Shoemaker, this was the song Floor said she found most challenging as a lot of it is in the high registers for a long time. And it just keeps modulating upwards.
Bruce….. Floor only said we are going to start a little softer at the beginning of song, didn’t say what the rest was going to be like. Love this song. When Floor does it in solo performances, l keep waiting for Marko to join in. Still great though. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺
Yes, Empu can threat. A good example is Romanticide or an older track like "High Hopes", but as you say he gives the track what it needs without showing of.

You nailed it, what makes Emppu great. He plays just what’s needed to make the song better, he doesn’t try to show off. Keep exploring Nightwish. There’s still a ton of great stuff! Have you not done Yours is an Empty Hope, from Wembley yet? That HAS to be next, if not. Enjoy!

Ever Dream has been my third fav song period for the last 1.5 yrs with GLS n Storytime being 1&2 for the same time I had the same top five till recently with 7 Days to the Wolves probably now my 4th
also the pronunciation of Tuomas would be combining the words toe n the mas that is said in the word Christmas toe-mas but someday you will hear it The Poet and the Pendulum after your researching the back story

It's groovy alight. The heavy lifting was done by Floor (and Marco in parts), but the whole song was a flow. Jukka on the drums showing the drumskins just who's the boss. And special compliments to Marco, what a bassline to die for.
As you've said, just adding something "just right" for the song (like all of them).
This concert in Wacken 2013, was one oft the best of all time! I would suggest to make a reaction of "The greatest show on Earth" live in Tampere 2015!

Bruce toumas have a nicname in the Nightwish Armee hey calls him Metall Mozart ... and by Empu you are right i here Nightwish for 18 years and i have never see that empu do a big Show by his gitarr Solos on feet on the Monitor and the Gitarr on his Knie and he play his solo Minimalistic. and Smal and with absolut Style .

Sweet Reaction! 🤘🔥🤘 If you listen to the 2015 Wembley performance of Ever Dream, you'll hear a big difference from the 2013 Wacken performance. It's much slower and the vocal range has been lowered. Floor said Ever Dream was the most difficult Nightwish song for her to perform, because it was written for Tarja's original vocals, which is on a higher vocal scale. So Tuomas slowed the song and lowered the vocal scale for Floor. ❤
Yes, but I prefer Floor singing Ever Dream the way she does here. I understand the difficulty and need to have it altered, but man oh man, this is the creme de la creme right here.

Hi, the first notes played and a smile spreads to your face. What more do you need - well, more Nightwish of course. You pointed out the one thing I agree with you totally. The hole band is so good, every one of them. No matter which side you look at them, every detail is carefully thought. It's the quality of Nightwish. You mentioned Emppu's guitar solos on your reactions. I just remembered you should check out one song Emppu is having great solos. Nightwish - Over The Hills and Far Away (DVD End Of An Era) HD. Concert with the first leading singer Tarja Turunen.
Empu does a good solo on Romanticide also at wacken. He's got some good runs on their newest album

I have to say this is on of my favorites, but seeing this song performed live, as I did last Sunday night in New York, it is more magical than you can believe....
Well, I've been watching the fan videos of this song performed on their new US tour, without Marko and the big venues, just nothing too magical about it, compared to Wacken 2013.

Name pronounciations - Tuomas: Too-om-ahs (basically same as English but the u makes an “oo” sound), Jukka: Yook-kah (you got it right in the video), Emppu: Emp-poo. Emphasis always on the 1st syllable. I hope you continue to enjoy discovering new songs! :)

Pronunciation? You are just doing the usual American thing of over-pronouncing the vowels. For Tuomas, the U is almost not there but it is given some value. Make it like the W in twist so it is kind of Twomas - short O. And as a general rule for Finnish names, the first syllable is the stressed one.
