Kelowna is a city on Okanagan Lake in the Okanagan Valley in the southern interior of British Columbia, Canada. It serves as the head office of the Regional District of the Central Okanagan. The name Kelowna derives from an Okanagan language term for "grizzly bear".
The Kelowna metropolitan area has a population of 194,882; the third-largest metropolitan area in the province, behind only Vancouver and Victoria. Additionally, the City of Kelowna is the seventh-largest city in the province. It ranks as the 22nd-largest in Canada and is the largest inland city in British Columbia. Kelowna's city proper contains 211.82square kilometres (81.78 sq mi), and the census metropolitan area contains 2,904.86 square kilometres (1,121.57 sq mi). In 2016, the population of Kelowna consisted of 127,380 individuals occupying 53,903 private dwellings.
Nearby communities include the City of West Kelowna (also referred to as Westbank, Westside) to the west across Okanagan Lake, Lake Country and Vernon to the north, and Peachland to the southwest, and further to the south, Summerland and Penticton.

I lived in Kelowna for four years as a university student, I love everything about Kelowna, the people, the weather, the slow living pace, the nature. Your video makes me wanna go back to Kelowna so much. Good job.
How much is job availability there?
@@nafishasnat1036 it is a small town, more like a retirement city for people from BC and Alberta. Most available jobs are service jobs, it is an ideal place for people who enjoy a slow living pace
Travis Zhang
Can you please give me some good details on the weather in Kelowna, I’m trying to find a place to retire that it’s not too cold and longer dry summer,
I’m currently in southern Ontario.
Thanks
Travis Zhang how was the university? is it UBCO?
@@frar.841 it gets down to about -20° in winter and as high as 35° in summer. The summers are long but we have been having many forest fires recently, making the sky in july and august pretty smoggy.
Really glad you went down Leon. Ave. It is a real part of Kelowna after all. Good on ya. Stay safe out there.
Awesome! I love when you cover Canadian cities. Kelowna is beautiful. Thank you!

Great topography in and around Kelowna. Overall, one of the nicer cities in Canada.
Awesome.
Great video.
Amazing. ❤️
Kelowna is gorgeous. I moved away in 2000 when I was 15 and I regret it everyday.
Why did you move away? What was so good about living there before you did? I live in the UK and have never visited Canada but am dreaming about visiting Kelowna one day, that place looks to have my perfect climate and looks so chill.
@EM trades
@@LeHosko The Okanagan Valley is awesome! Penticton is nicer than Kelowna, bc it sits between two lakes! I lived in Kelowna area between 1993-2014. I'm older now and prefer a quieter place, so I moved to the West Kootenays.
Looks like a cleaner California.
really
Yes it looks like the southern part of the Bay
Really cool video

Kelowna, as well as most north american cities, has the bicycle lanes all wrong. They have wide unprotected painted lanes where on the left side is live traffic made up of many large vehicles passing, one of which could crash into a cyclist due to an unforseen event, and on the right they have parked vehicles any one of which could open a door for the cyclist to crash into. The bike lane should be right against the sidewalk with a physical barrier and the street parking to the left of the lane.
22:02 There is the Kelowna City Hall at 1435 Water Street on the left.
It's a great place to live and visit apart from the lake crabs that come on land and take a few random sacrifices every few months.
must give blood to the crab god
Beautiful city i am really amazed of that city , how far is from vancouver?
3 hours
@bubble, 4-6 hrs drive SW to Vancouver, depending on which rte you take.
Kelowna is gonna grow real fast 300 k by 2025 I’ll bet
22:45 taking your life into your hands.. haha bus was honkin at you !! :) thats just for busses :)
Hope God takes me here soon. 👍🤔
Windfall would help out also.
Ooops! Did not know you drove in a transit bus! I believe the end of the street on Queensway at Ethel is not for public vehicles to go on, only City Buses....🤔 🛑 Plus notice the ⛔ sign(x3s) and also that is why city transit bus driver was honking at you several times as he saw you pull out where you should not have been! 🤣 👎 @22:45"
Sorry new to the city, still learning,.?
A paz do Senhor Deus ; o Senhor e meu pasto nada me faltara, Salmo 23;1.
Is this city good for IT jobs?
In Quebec they won't stop for you at a cross-walk.
Time to move ..
@22:42 ELVIS sighting!!! 😎
@8:55 follow the guy with the hat, bc he is walking by my place in a few secs. (Cawston ave)

Kelowna only has a population about 130 thousand
just got admitted to UBCO.
Wait until the hottest day of the summer in Penticton and see why we are so popular
U have a very nice country...I wish to be there someday

Stop teasing Alberta lol

I’m moving to kelowna from Alberta (Canmore)
tokyo is populated than canada
No it's not. Canada population right now is almost 40 million. Tokyo has a population of 30 million
get ur facts right boi
@ElectricBlue but it is a big difference when you are only play with 30 and 40. And Canada isn't that small. In comparison to the most populous countries yes. But in the big picture Canada is like 37th in population out of hundreds of countries. I bet most people wouldn't guess Canada has more people than the continent of Australia.
Sucks to be in Tokyo.
@EM Canada is larger (in population) than Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Netherlands, Belgium, Cuba, Greece, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Serbia, Lebanon, Singapore and, Ireland, to name just a few that I figured to be most familiar to the most number of people. It sits pretty squarely in the mid to upper list of Western democracies. It is a not anywhere near tiny compared to the developed world.
