2008 Chevy Suburban LTZ Tried the new ground off the ground strap and truck ran like clockwork for about a month. Then started getting traction control, stabilitrak, check engine and rough idle, AGAIN. Gonna try to find ground to engine and check mega fuse.Hope this works. Really like this truck.
JOHN REAVES I started having a service brake system light come on a couple months ago and it was the little ground wire that bolts to the frame right under the drivers seat. Not inside the cab but under the truck. Unbolted the wire, where wheeled the connection spot and reconnected and all is good. Different issue than what I had before but it may be worth checking into.
My 08 had the same issue, the battery cables, the mega fuse in the firewall and the fuse panel had corrosion, now my 2010 I'm thinking about buying, it's having intermittent no starts
Not really. I know that cables can sometimes corrode inside the casing so it is hard to tell. Probably could have compared them to see if old one was swollen. Been a few years now and no issues still.
Im having the same issue and it does seem to happen when it’s cold outside or on a day where it’s been raining and the truck senses the roads might be slippery or icy because when I turn on the truck I see that little message “Icy roads possible” only thing is when the truck has had those episodes I will be driving and it feels like the truck goes into neutral and back to drive repeatedly at the same time the locks will start locking and unlocking. If I turn it off for 15 seconds and turn it on again it has stopped but then truck has sluggish acceleration after. Another thing is that it keeps bringing up false check engine lights to replace the oil pressure sensor but it had been replaced 5 days prior and then out of no where the check engine light disappeared.
I never experienced any icy road warnings when my truck was having issues. I know my icy light comes on when the temps are right around 32 degrees. My truck would stutter a lot real quick, the locks go crazy, and the speedo and rpm gauges would basically stop working. The stuttering was basically because the truck was losing power and and back on repeatedly. It did feel like it was kicking into neutral because of the power loss. It seemed that it took place when there was a heavy load on the electrical like running the ac and or heater, radio going, and putting on turn signals all at once. Once I finally changed the positive battery cable it has been smooth sailing. There is also a ground cable on the frame underneath the truck pretty much right under the driver seat. It is notorious for causing a service brake system light to come on. It is an easy unbolt, clean all the rust, and reboot project. Good luck out there.
@@ricepadi29 The “Icy Roads warning” could just be pure coincidence cause it’s been cold since I’ve owned the truck. The reason I mentioned the truck feeling like it’s going into neutral it’s cause you can hear the truck rev up loudly and not move just like when you put it on neutral but I’m sure it’s the same issue you were having. I will try to replace all the things you did on the video and keep my fingers crossed. I appreciate you making this video!
RPM Improvement Outdoor Services LLC Thanks RPM I hope so too. Positive cable will be next if it does it again. I also installed a new starter last year thinking that was the culprit.
I have a 2010 Silverado After 3 mechanics, Stole my money.. And also take it to the dealer They stole my money also and never fix it. After 2 years I find out. It's the battery sensor problem fix. That noise I'm hearing is the engine knocking? I have an 11 and it knocks a lil when it wants but goes away also I cant stand the AFM but a real solid truck hasn't let me down yet.

I doubt it. Any other fuse the orientation doesn’t matter. I think I put the new fuse in right side up though. Final fix was replacing the positive battery cable. Been good for a few years now.
My door chimes and stereo speakers act up after it rains or high humidity. I replaced mega fuse and cable to fuse box. Alternator and battery replaced. Negative battery cable was replaced but was spliced into old wire leading to frame. Any suggestions?? Please and thank you to anyone
I would suggest eliminating that spliced wire and run a new one to the frame. There is also another ground wire on the the truck on the frame basically under the driver seat area. It is known to cause issues so quick unbolt clean and reattach May be helpful.
I wouldn’t suggest going up to the 200. May cause something else that it is supposed to protect burn up. The problem came back again so I replaced the positive cable and haven’t had any problems for a couple years now.
