This is a real sit and watch anytime kinda movie. You can watch this if you are still looking for something light and feel-good movie but if you want to watch a masterpiece with some drama and shiz and performances, Tamasha is the best.

Ranbir is not divisive, his movies are. You’ll find there is almost unanimous support for Ranbir as an actor. Put Ranbir with a dream project and it will break all records-it just hasn’t happened yet. His line up of films however is hugely promising. This whole nepotism bullshit, I think, is only relevant when the star child is talentless. Every industry has nepotism, it’s just more identifiable in the movies. I just think Indians have learnt this new word ‘nepotism’ and now it’s like a dog with a bone.

Madhuri was in her forties when she filmed this...she's starred as female lead in some of the movies in which Ranbir's DAD was the male lead. She's one helluva dancer, trained in classical dance and hence able to perform any contemporary dance. Rekha Bhardwaj's salty silken voice adds the extra flavor to this song...she's Vishal Bhardwaj's wife and the couple obviously share a love for music. Some of her songs in Vishal's movies are iconic...I particularly like the 'Bidi jalaile' and 'Namak isq ka' songs from Omkara and the soulful song that plays with the credits at the end of Haider...Rick you must get the lyrics subtitled for that one...you'll simply love that one...'Un haseenaon, un suhaaganon, un maon ke naam' which means 'in the name of those sweethearts, those wives and those mothers of Kashmir who have known loss like no other...'
I think some of the divisiveness about Ranbir is because the opportunity to be in movies came too easily - there was no real struggle since he is from a Bollywood Dynasty. Obviously this isn't a substantive knock against his acting but it's sometimes hard to separate our feelings for the artist from life. I'm part of the pro Tamasha electorate lol

When I watched Tamasha I was like why do people like this movie because when I watched the movie I went on thinking it's going to be simple rom-com and I was in the mood of watching rom-com genre so I went for something and got something else and I think that was the reason for my disappointment but next day when I thought about the movie I found it quite interesting and compelling and actually I loved it.
You have to see some awesome performaces of Madhuri mam like the movies anjaam and pukaar...she is one of the most legendary actress in the film industry

Ranbir Kapoor one of the finest and underratted actor we have right now in film industry. His films like Tamasha & Rockstar are fine wine which would get better with age. The one thing I love about him is even in his bad movies one thing never changes his acting. I became his fan when I watched the last scene of Saawariya, even for a debut his emotional acting was pretty good.

Ranbir at one point was THE young superstar in India! After he did Rockstar (2011), Barfi (2012) and Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani (2013) all back to back hits. Everyone loved him, he became THE actor is Bollywood. But then in the next few years Ranveer Singh came along and did such different roles in films like Lootera, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Dil Dhadkne Do, Padmaavat, Simmba and Gully Boy whereas, Ranbir continued to play similar roles in similar movies and the audience started liking the versatile actor more. I think Ranbir is divisive because 1 section of the audience loves the kind of films he does (they don’t care if they are the same roles) and 1 section of the audience find him overrated and overhyped! I still like him but I think the emergence of Ranveer really affected Ranbir’s stardom because the audience realized that there are much better actors out there. [Also, a lot of people don’t like Ranveer Singh offscreen and kinda find him annoying but I’m sure most people will agree that he is a phenomenal actor]
I personally think both are good...but ranbir hasn't reached his potential and he needs to choose some different and stronger roles... whereas ranveer is very versatile but he is way more overrated due to lots of reasons apart from acting such as his over the top enthusiastic behaviour, his wedding with deepika, and definitely role of khilji in padmavat (which i believe ranbir or shahid could have also justified that role equally as much ranvir did) it was much more bhansali's art in making the khilji's character the grand villain..whoever would have played that character would have got that kind of hype...
Exactly, whenever I liked a Ranbir movie, it's almost me ending up observing and liking his co-stars more. Like Wake Up Sid, Barfi (Both Priyanka and Ileana are amazing), YJHD ( Kalki and Deepika even Aditya), Tamasha even before Ranveer. Ranveer on the other hand just grabs attention with his screen presence, be it positive or negative attention and in Gully Boy, Ranveer is so different coz sometimes I almost didn't notice him in the frame and he transferred his screen presence by underplaying it.
@@Lazymath007_ I am not telling he is a bad actor, I am telling whenever he is onscreen with others, others somehow shine more like in Sanju( if one can call it Biopic), Vicky Kaushal has such small screen time, still he does leave an impactful performance. Deepika is amazing as well in Tamasha. I didn't wanted to include her twice in my post, so didn't include. Ranbir in Rockstar is good, no doubt. But as a movie on whole, the highlight of it is A.R.Rahman music for me. I remember having huge expectations from the movie after listening to the songs. Need to watch Rocket Singh before commenting. May be Ranbir is a giving actor, it's not necessarily a bad thing. It actually represents Self Confidence on his own acting.

The choices he makes in terms of films to be in is questionable and I think people don't like his choices of film more than his performances in it. He is a great actor, probably one of the best of this generation.

Seriously? You guys don't know who Madhuri Dixit is! It's very disheartening to know this. Madhuri Dixit is the superstar of the late 80's and 90's. She was the nation's heart throbe and she still is at the age of 52 now. She still looks gorgeous! You guys should do more reactions on her songs and scenes.

Ranbir at one point was THE young superstar in India! After he did Rockstar (2011), Barfi (2012) and Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani (2013) all back to back hits. Everyone loved him, he became THE actor is Bollywood.
But then in the next few years Ranveer Singh came along and did such different roles in films like Lootera, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Dil Dhadkne Do, Padmaavat, Simmba and Gully Boy whereas, Ranbir continued to play similar roles in similar movies and the audience started liking the versatile actor more.
I think Ranbir is divisive because 1 section of the audience loves the kind of films he does (they don’t care if they are the same roles) and 1 section of the audience find him overrated and overhyped!
I still like him but I think the emergence of Ranveer really affected Ranbir’s stardom because the audience realized that there are much better actors out there.
[Also, a lot of people don’t like Ranveer Singh offscreen and kinda find him annoying but I’m sure most people will agree that he is a phenomenal actor]
I personally think both are good...but ranbir hasn't reached his potential and he needs to choose some different and stronger roles... whereas ranveer is very versatile but he is way more overrated due to lots of reasons apart from acting such as his over the top enthusiastic behaviour, his wedding with deepika, and definitely role of khilji in padmavat (which i believe ranbir or shahid could have also justified that role equally as much ranvir did) it was much more bhansali's art in making the khilji's character the grand villain..whoever would have played that character would have got that kind of hype...
Exactly, whenever I liked a Ranbir movie, it's almost me ending up observing and liking his co-stars more. Like Wake Up Sid, Barfi (Both Priyanka and Ileana are amazing), YJHD ( Kalki and Deepika even Aditya), Tamasha even before Ranveer.
Ranveer on the other hand just grabs attention with his screen presence, be it positive or negative attention and in Gully Boy, Ranveer is so different coz sometimes I almost didn't notice him in the frame and he transferred his screen presence by underplaying it.
@@Lazymath007_ I am not telling he is a bad actor, I am telling whenever he is onscreen with others, others somehow shine more like in Sanju( if one can call it Biopic), Vicky Kaushal has such small screen time, still he does leave an impactful performance. Deepika is amazing as well in Tamasha. I didn't wanted to include her twice in my post, so didn't include.
Ranbir in Rockstar is good, no doubt. But as a movie on whole, the highlight of it is A.R.Rahman music for me. I remember having huge expectations from the movie after listening to the songs.
Need to watch Rocket Singh before commenting.
May be Ranbir is a giving actor, it's not necessarily a bad thing. It actually represents Self Confidence on his own acting.
