Madhuri gives whore type expressions that's her only range in acting. Someone good at dancing doesn't mean they're great actress. Yes Madhuri Dixit deserves the top spot. She is an exceptional actress, dancer and performer. Unparalleled grace and commendable acting performances. Rani and Kajol for me are the acting greats as well and rank in top one for me but overall as a performer Madhuri takes it all.

Hema Malini is a Bollywood superstar and an amazing actress. To know a bit more about her film career I think you should start with The Cult Classic Film Seeta Aur Geeta (1972). This Film was the highest grossing Bollywood movies of that year and behind it was Pakeezah being the 2nd highest grossing Bollywood movies of that year. In that year Pakeezah and Seeta Aur Geeta were in competition to see which one was better and it turns out to be Seeta aur geeta. In Filmfare awards Hema malini and Meena kumari were both nominated for best actress award for those films. People thought Meena Kumari would get it as she was a legend by then but Who got it Hema Malini for Seeta aur geeta in a whole career Hema Malini got nominated 11 times for the best actress award but sadly this was the only film she won it for. You may remember her playing Basanti In Sholay the talkative village girl. Seeta Aur Geeta is story about twins who get separated at birth. One is a gypsy whose parents didn’t know they had twins because the two villagers that helped them during a stormy night to born the babies found out they had twins and the woman who helped born the babies took the other twin without them knowing and so the girls name is Geeta and she is brave and strong and the other is a shy, abused, weak girl who’s parents die and they let her evil aunt and her nice but scared of his wife uncle look after Seeta. Must watch classic and review it. In my eyes this is the best twin movie ever made in Bollywood and it’s a masala film. You should also react to the songs.

Madhuri has a little more hit in beginning of 90's then Late Shri G but if i remember correctly then Late 80's to early 90's, majorly dominated by Shri G as Queen and Madhuri as adorable princess. Late Madhubala G was famous for beauty not for acting in the same way as Aishwarya is since one has Devdas in her account in the same way Madhu G had Mugle Azam so not sure in which basis both were ranked as 3rd and fifth. Madhuri deserves the no.1 spot because she was pretty much the perfect bollywood female star/actress. Great acting ability, phenomenal beauty and screen presence, exceptional dancing skills, and a lovely personality. It's like she's the most beloved person in bollywood (except for a certain fan group that shall not be named who have a one sided hatred towards her lol).
Her filmography isn't the most impressive by any means, but she's always good no matter how the movie is.
Someone good at dancing doesn't automatically mean they're good actress. Indians keep confusing the two. Madhuri just gives whore like expressions.

I reckon if Sridevi had been offered art films such as the ones often starring Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi and in more recent years Tabu, she would have proved herself in those types of movies too. Give her any role and any film, she was simply magic and true all rounder.

Must watch classic and review it. In my eyes this is the best twin movie ever made in Bollywood and it’s a masala film. You should also react to the songs.

Madhuri dixit easily.....tabu chose more of serious roles and the movies did good but the stars Mentioned in the list were hugely popular....if you go and ask the people about madhuri dixit they'll give you a list about her work and if ask about tabu there's a possibility that many people still don't know about her or her work which is unfortunate obviously but the concept of movie stars in India particularly meant the star that reaches mass audience and I think that list was apt according to that.

First of all, ANY list of all-time greats needs to have Madhuri & Sridevi in the Top 2, no argument. You can have them at either spot depending on your preference. Currently, I'm more digging Sri's Filmography.
Secondly, what the heyull is Hema Malini doing anywhere near the Top 25?? Yes she was the hugest star in the 70s, but ACTing, I don't see her.
Thirdly, there is a reason why Madhubala has ZERO Filmfare Awards. She was often criticised for her poor acting skills by journalists and film reviewers at the time of her super-stardom, she is the most beautiful yes but again (and yes she did improve a lot in her later years) but she was not supposed to be in this god damn list.
