    Been with Tello for a year now and it's been just fine. No major issues, clear calls, and Tello just increased my 5GB plan to 10GB for the same price. Was considering Visible for a little better coverage in some areas, but nope.... sticking with Tello!

    Good video. I've been considering both Mint and Tello. One thing to remember about month-to-month without a contract is the provider can raise the monthly pricing whenever it wants...to whatever price it wants. With Mint, I really don't like the idea of paying a full year in advance to get the lowest pricing, but at least they can't change any pricing for that year. I spoke to someone at Mint and one downside to paying yearly is if a customer decides not to continue the service and cancels a few months into it, Mint doesn't prorate, so the customer loses everything that's been paid for the unused time frame. And that makes me feel trapped. I MUCH prefer month-to-month.

      Yes, I definitely appreciate the month to month option. That being said, I’ve had Tello for a year now and have kept with them each month. It’s working well for our family!

    I tend to just use my phone for browsing/texting while I'm out and about and my desktop computer primarily at home. So tello's minimalistic plans suit me well. I have 100 minutes and 2GB of data. It might not seem like much but I rarely call anyone unless it's an emergency and the browsing I do is pretty light. I haven't gone over my limit yet.

    Has anyone here had a problem porting your existing number over to Tello (assuming an unlocked GSM phone)? The biggest consideration for me in switching to any new service and porting my existing number is I own a business and my current number is connected to all business contacts, friends, not to mention printed on my business cards, etc. and I can't imagine something going awry in the porting process and losing the number. The reason I ask is, I've read several reports involving both Tello and Mint of people who have switched and ended up losing their existing number when attempting to port their existing number, even though they provided all the correct info.

    • @MarriageKidsandMoney

      Tello, pay by the month. MINT, pay in time increments of 3, or 6, or 12 month at a time.
      Tello, allows you to pick a customized plan for talk, text, data. MINT, a small number of set plans without customization.
      Tello, lowest priced plan can be about 7 or 8 dollars per month (one of the customized options). MINT, lowest priced plan "$15" per month and must be paid for whole 12-month period.

    • @TheTaytay198
      @TheTaytay198 2 роки тому

      @@gjoseph1628 not concerned about pay by month but what’s the better deal as for cost alone. Been with ATT for 28 years and seems excessive since I don’t use data at all.

      @@gjoseph1628 your opinion is appreciated, so Mint or Tello in your opinion

    • @gjoseph1628
      @gjoseph1628 2 роки тому

      @@TheTaytay198 You and only you are the best person to answer that. I imagine that Tello through one of their custom plans would be the best, lowest price. What really counts is, do you have the amount of talk, text, and data that you need for the price of the plan, or for you actual needs? Go to the Tello site and examine the custom plan options carefully. Be aware that Tello will charge taxes a possibly an additional $2 fee per month for the line. Maybe some other reader knows more about this and could give comment.

      Oh! What do bars refer to them?

    • @jb888888888
      @jb888888888 2 роки тому +1

      @@MarriageKidsandMoney Technically it measures the dBm that the phone is receiving from a tower. Bars signify _relative_ signal strength. That word relative is important. And each phone maker and many models within a given phone brand measures its "barness" differently. Two bars on one phone might be the same as three bars on another. And even then the three bar phone might not actually have a signal when trying to use it and the two bar phone does.
      The only way it's a direct comparison is if you have two identical phones literally side by side on different networks, or two different phones side by side on the same network.
