After getting Cut from the S.S. Anne, I took a massive detour again through Route 9 and 10, Rock Tunnel, Celadon and Saffron City. Saffron also gives you access to Dream Patches, which is the new way in 4.1 to get Hidden Abilities, which are actually an item to buy and use on the go, which is far more convenient. They go for dirt cheap at 5000 Pokedollars too. If you're using the Rare Candy in-game cheat, that's literally infinite money, and fast too with how much those sell for.
I also went to the Poke Ball changer, and changed some around. Namely my Alolan Vulpix fittingly into the Friend Ball, Brionne into the Dive Ball, and because I named my Frosmoth after Ruri, I swapped that into the Love Ball, because I'm a shameless character self-shipper like that. (She is perfectly fine on that front, before anyone asks. I know her lore and character details more than anyone else does. Trust me.)
Anyway, about the actual fight. Mega Manectric is a menace for this point in the game and can easily snowball with Charge Beam boosts. Bellibolt is also very hard to take down, with its massive bulk and Electromorphosis-boosted Parabolic Charge. Vikavolt can also hit very hard if you allow it to.
