When I have to defrost the freezer I boil the kettle and fill cooking pans with the boiling water and place on the shelves. The heat goes up and down that way. When the water cools I repeat the process. 5 kettlesful last time and it was done. You don't have to stand over it like you do with a hairdryer either 🙂
I find one of those puppy training pads works well tucked under the freezer absorbs the worse, you will still need a tray to catch the worse of it but it helps.

I’m 🏴 living in 🇨🇦 and I’ve only once had to defrost a chest freezer (which was quite the job). I think the tech is different now thankfully and I no longer have to defrost. And I don’t have a chest freezer anymore - the upright freezer doesn’t seem to need it 🤞 Loved the shot of the pub. I miss ‘home’ sometimes.
I work in a healthcare laboratory and its one of my jobs to defrost massive -80 degree freezers...and I still manage to flood the floors. 😂 Ive taken note of your hairdryer method though. 😂
Hi When defrosting my freezer with a hair dryer I put one of the draws empty back in to catch the dripping and a towel on the bottom to catch rest it usually stop most of the water ending up on the floor. Can I you show the progress on the Wee county Advent. You inspired me to order the advent and do some colour work for the first time in many years . Stay well. 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧
Hate defrosting the freezer! The water goes everywhere! We pit in about 3 bowls of boiling hot water which seems to help a little bit but always carefully use the trusty hairdryer! I sang along for a few seconds with you all at the pub! X
Hi Becky. We leave the empty freezer drawers in to collect the water when defrosting. We also put a dish of just boiled water to help speed up the process. Loving your vlogs 😊

Our friends used to have a cat who laid in doorways between rooms ...a good way to get lots of tickles. Harvey is so cute 😊
