We are so starved of our own heritage that we find joy in learning even the most horrific betrayals such as this: how condescending to only inquire our desires and ability to understand what we want and need after a vile act of savagery killing black soldiers for PR purposes. Then to make the order temporary show just how disingenuous the power structure has always been with black people. We have been called dumb and lazy, if that were remotely true why work so hard to keep us down? Because they understand and remember how much ingenuity we produce, how hard we are able to work, how successful we were in reconstruction. If this country cared at all about righting it’s wrongs it would tell us the truth about our heritage
