The fact that neither of you think you’re “good enough” musicians is part of what makes both of you exceptional musicians. Thank you for sharing this lovely conversation, can’t wait to see you in Boston! 😊
So excited you are continuing this Jim! Pass Through Frequencies was a huge part of getting me through the craziness of Covid. Love what you do my man!
You guys played the VMware conference 2024 and it was SO GOOD. Thank you for making me a huge fan. I am 40, I had heard your hits (my college roommate was a huge fan) but had never seen a live performance and you guys just KILLED IT. Thanks, again. 'Bout to buy some merch.
That was lots of fun hearing how things work from the inside. I appreciate the humility and exploration. Interesting to hear Jim's experience with imposter syndrome before 2011. Don't we all struggle with that?
Jimmy is so inspiring. Your song « in the middle » has helped me so much now that I think about it. And then the album Surviving truly truly profound. I love to hear about your process, it’s making me feel good about my process… I understand what I’ve been doing that hasn’t worked or felt so good. It’s about doing what feels good.
Saw JEW open for MO in Houston the same month this was released. Trying to understand the timing of when this was recorded since this would have happened remotely while they were on tour together.
Hey Jim. You guys had to cancel your shows (and the rescheduled shows) in Nova Scotia during the pandemic. Any chance you’ll reschedule in the near future? I did appreciate all the content you produced during those years though. Thanks.
I think you're lying. I think you DON'T like talking to people about music and the creative process and are shamelessly exploiting another artist for page hits. Or not. Maybe I'll lay off the mushrooms this week.
YESSSSSSSS. Also, the old guitar intros you did were hilarious, but I get why you're not doing it. Soo happy you're continuing this show! That's the main thing.
See you at the salt shed next month! So pumped to see these come through again. Best lockdown band EVER love all the content you put our over that time and SURVIVING is an incredable masterpiece of music
Love that you guys are practicing some of the Static Prevails songs. The guitar work is so interesting that I keep coming back to those songs. It totally makes sense that it was written whilst learning classical guitar. A special record, lyrically and musically. The art work fit very well with the music too.
No lie, I’ve been playing music for almost 20 years. However, there are portions of this chat that I get so lost of what they’re talking about . It’s like the kind of stuff I think about when I used to get viciously high. In conclusion, these dudes are just wizards and scholars of the music world. I feel smarter just hearing them talk 😂❤️
I'm so thrilled to see this podcast back after 2 years! I love these interviews and loved the conversations in them. Glad to see you continuing on with them.

Says the singers of two of my favorite bands…

Awesome chat!
Thanks a lot! 😊👍🏻
🙏
I thought that sentence was going to be "I still enjoy talking to people" and then that's it, that's the sentence. 😂
So so happy there's a new one of these! I'm literally on my way to see you two play tonight!! Pure love
Yay my coffee mug is relevant again!
This is making me feel like we're still in the pandemic. THIS IS WEIRD.
Haha same
JEW were putting out megahits when I was still in school. Now I’m nearly 40…. Jim looks about 20 years younger than me. What’s going on?!?
Its been a year 😔
I am a new fan of J.E.W., and I can't help but see many similarities between Jim and Rivers Cuomo.

No don't care

Crying tears of joy that there’s a new episode. Especially seeing that Andy Hull is the guest.
So pumped you're still doing these!!
I could listen to these two talk all the time.
Please make another episode? Follow up with Nate 4 years later?
For the almighty algorithm!
Thanks for the content!

Jimmy's looking like "if pixar made Ash from evil dead"
No offence but Andy hosted this episode.
PLEASE PLAY 555 TONIGHT

This format is back ha ha. Kudos
I cannot wait to see y'all in Asheville!
Oh shit PTF is back!!!!
You have to get Dan "Soupy" Campbell of The Wonder Years on here!! Please that would be so awesome!
I'm glad it's continued
Im not a musician, but I found your discussion on productivity in the creative process relatable and helpful.
remember the dune inspired video? that was cool
Yes I hate long drawn out intros!!!

This is awesome! Can't wait to see y'all in Austin!!!
I adore both bands but Andy Hull and his band Manchester Orchestra have the songs that are currently the playlist of my life
Where can we hear the cover songs?
Nice! Couple days ago I was just thinking about this podcast and here it is!
I'm so damn happy right now! Had no idea you were doing this, Jim! Love you guys!
