My jacket came today. Nine days from Australia to the US is pretty fast. I was nervous as hell ordering a leather jacket from another country, especially since the next size up was already sold out. I really didn’t want to go through the hassle or expense of shipping a jacket to Australia. As soon as it came I hurriedly cut open the box and put it on. I zipped it up and breathed a huge sigh of relief. It fits perfectly. Shoulders fit? Check. Shoulders are the most important thing to fit on a man’s jacket. Chest fits? Check. Sleeve length correct? Check. Back length correct? Check. It is a cropped jacket. The lamb skin leather is buttery soft. If you have never had a lamb skin jacket, you won’t believe how soft this leather is. The leather is also very thin. This jacket is definitely for looks and not warmth. When the temperature drops, you will need a warmer jacket or coat. But that means you can wear this jacket almost three seasons out of the year as it could be worn on cool summer nights. As soon as I checked out the fit I pressed the sides of the collar down. Mine stayed down in a very screen accurate manner right out of the box. It doesn’t try to keep standing straight up the way the ones David was wearing seemed to do. The rear of the collar will stay up. I am 6’3” and weigh 195 pounds. Yes, I used to weigh 225 back in the day. I would say I have a short torso and long legs. I wear 36x32 or 36x34 jean’s depending on how accurately they are made. The jacket I ordered is a large. Back when I weighed 225, I would have had to have an extra large. This jacket is great. I am going to get a lot of pleasure wearing this one. Daniel Love knocked this one out of the park. Great job, Daniel.
My wife just bought me the Bolivia Harrington Jacket from Quantum of Solace for Christmas and it is just Incredible. The fit and tailoring is amazing. When I put it on, it literally fits just like it does on Daniel Craig . It made me feel confident in getting additional items from Royale Filmwear. I've had a few friends compliment me on it and one non Bond fan asked me for a link to get one for himself. I also think the brown of the Royale jacket in your video may look closer in color to the way it looks in the film, post color filtering of the film.
I have three items from Royal Filmwear, two jackets and the French ski pants from Spectre. All three items are absolutely spot on! They are not just extremely close to the original, but they’re just great garments. Well-made, durable and fit really well Daniel Love keeps hitting it out of the park every time. Believe me when I say durable because I really beat the crap out of my clothing. I've even wore the specter Solden jacket cross-country skiing. Put a few layers underneath and it's just right! You can overheat wearing a regular ski jacket, so the Royal Filmier one is perfect for it.
I do hope this become a trend that Daniel Love is working into more pieces. I always thought that the Matchless jacket and Spectre Cucinelli chino pants both needed to be redone by him.
What "is" that noise??....that'll be my wallet whimpering 🥴. Excellent video again, genuinely hovering over the checkout at N Peal website to purchase the 007 Mr White sweater in Fumo Grey, when this video popped up! I'll use this through more of the year than the cashmere (own 3 pieces already), so thanks David, redirected to Daniels site. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Frugal Bond option for the Planet Ocean would be the Orient Mako. It's not a copy of the Planet Ocean, but it gives similar look and it's from a good brand at that price range.
Another great video. Thank you for being so passionate about all things Bond. I really hope whatever the future holds for 007 the clothes stay as casual as the DC tenure.
Nope, the zippers killed it for me. And I need it to be as supple as supple can be supple, it needs to be more supple. LOL!! This was fun! Although, it was not until today, that I got a little bit of Indiana Jones vibe from the outfit.
Another great video David, great to have frugal bond back. Would love to know your opinion on the wested version at some point, there are no videos about it online but is a great version from a respected company.
Another difference in the jackets is the leather "placket" around the zipper. The replica's leather is smooth while the Armani's is creased. That's not just age but a design choice. I've seen it in pictures of four different Armani jackets over the years.
Doubt very much the film production company paid full retail price for the jacket. The fact that Daniel Love has recreated this for £/$400 shows how much the "label" hikes the price level so high. Leather definitely needs to be worn in, review it again after a year ... Or set off a sprinkler system next time you're in an airport 😎😄
Great video! I miss the Frugal Bond videos! I think any differences in color are only due to the age of screen used one and also the fact that it was beat up in the filming.
It's a great piece. I like it very much. I wonder if I can train the collar so it's laying down and relaxed instead of sticking up. Great in-depth review David! Thank you!
The front of my jacket laid down and the back stood up the moment I took it out of the box. There was no training necessary. David said the leather on the screen used seemed to be a little thinner than the leather on the Royale Filmware. I must have been lucky with the jacket that I received. I have other lamb skin jackets and I can’t imagine a tannery cutting a piece of leather thinner than my jacket. It is light weight and butter soft.
David, I’d love to see you do a review of the Wested leather Skyfall jacket! I loved my Wested Indy, I’d like to know your thoughts on their James Bond products
Personally I think the accuracy of the stitching, the sizes of the pockets and zippers aren’t that important. The star of this Armani jacket has to be the drape of the leather, the wrinkles at the collar and at the pockets. This “je ne sais quoi” vibe you can clearly see in the movie on Craig. The frugal one does not come close on this area… also not after wearing… the cut and the leather is too one dimensional….sorry. Thx for the video. Ps I remember Andy Garcia wore a suede cropped jacket in the Untouchables which have the same kind of vibe. Maybe a bit broader shouldered because of being 20 years older movie, but it has this specific Armani look
Any nice leather jacket is going to be priced like this one or more and when this one breaks in it'll look more screen accurate. You just have to wear it a bit like David was saying.
You don’t need to dress up exactly like Bond in the movie, we are NOT bond, we are inspired by his style but we have our own taste as well. $380 jacket is not fungal, it’s an expensive piece. It does look very nice tho
I must admit to preferring the fit on the frugal one, the shoulder seems are a bit better.. But that's just me. We must also remember that on the screen used one they had many so Craig may have had some larger ones for action scenes and smaller ones for standing around. Not sure what one you got David but love your original.
Found you a couple of days ago .Great work .Just watched your vid from last year regarding the next bond cavill /johnson .Tom hardy another that is spoken about a lot Check out jamie dornan i seem to be only person who thinks he would be ideal .What do you think ?
In Moonraker when Jaws smiles at the girl with pigtails after the cable car crash, she smiles back (she was wearing braces right!???!) Can anyone confirm this!? I swear she did as that was the joke… if not iam living in a parallel universe….😮‼️‼️ ua-cam.com/video/0Pa0NUPZXHg/v-deo.html
Just heard from latest episode of "about effing time" on UA-cam that some bloke from a Netflix show called Emily in Paris, an actor called Lucien is the new Bond. I think it's a miss if true.
I know it's only for fun, and I'm a huge Bond fan, but not sure why anyone wants to dress up as Bond? Is it a cosplay thing, because it seems very odd otherwise.
I wouldn't buy something to cosplay either. I'd buy what I felt comfortable wearing and fit my style. A lot of the pieces have a timeless style. Classics. I gravitate towards clothing and accessories that I can have on regular rotation in my wardrobe. Shirts, jackets, sunglasses. Not everything appeals to everyone but IMHO there are some good staples you can add to your closet.
Love that Frugal Bond is back - impeccable timing as ever Mr Zaritsky!
And your original has a 17 year head start with regards to the leather fading and collar rigidity. I've always been happy with Daniel Love's quality
One word to describe this video....YES👍
I'm really looking forward to more of 'em , Thanks David.

Back to the good old days of reviewing Frugal Bond content.

That jacket looks amazing! I am so glad that the frugal Bond episodes are back. This is what introduced me to this channel years ago. Cheers!
The lapel standing-up makes the frugal one stand-out.
Frugal bond videos are so good, among my favourites.
This video is hilarious. Did "Replica David" come from Royale Filmwear also? lol
I like the frugal one better, great job guys.
I do hope this become a trend that Daniel Love is working into more pieces. I always thought that the Matchless jacket and Spectre Cucinelli chino pants both needed to be redone by him.
I can’t believe you got the actual jacket from the filming! That’s incredible
great investment in the screen-used jacket David
Frugal Bonds my favorite! I actually went invisible bond on New Years with one of my favorite Craig outfits: The Quantum Harrington/polo/jeans look.
What "is" that noise??....that'll be my wallet whimpering 🥴.
Excellent video again, genuinely hovering over the checkout at N Peal website to purchase the 007 Mr White sweater in Fumo Grey, when this video popped up!

Keep up the great work 👍🏻
The screen used one has been worn more and got wet. The frugal one will get there.
Stunning.
Frugal Bond option for the Planet Ocean would be the Orient Mako. It's not a copy of the Planet Ocean, but it gives similar look and it's from a good brand at that price range.
What an incredible job by Royale Filmwear!!!!
Looks just like Steve McQeen's (Hilts/Cooler King's) jacket in 'The Great Escape'. Maybe that was the inspiration?
Loving the Frugal Bond videos.🇨🇭
Another great video. Thank you for being so passionate about all things Bond. I really hope whatever the future holds for 007 the clothes stay as casual as the DC tenure.
What’s the size of the screen worn one? It actually looks bigger than the medium royal film one on you (in the shoulders and arms).
Yeah, the shoulders of the original are a dead giveaway that if fits big on David (as per screen accuracy)
After all that working out, I hope your medium Supply Jacket still fits you! 😄
Great review. David, any chance we could get a video on TWINE ski jacket (saw it in the background of the video). Would love to see it close up!
Nope, the zippers killed it for me. And I need it to be as supple as supple can be supple, it needs to be more supple. LOL!! This was fun! Although, it was not until today, that I got a little bit of Indiana Jones vibe from the outfit.
Great vid, love the Frugal Bond moments.
Another great video David, great to have frugal bond back. Would love to know your opinion on the wested version at some point, there are no videos about it online but is a great version from a respected company.
Unfortunately I purchased a new grey sunspel shirt and it is pretty significantly different than the old correct style.
You're good David, the small is the size for you... Enjoy the benefits of your hard work!
Another difference in the jackets is the leather "placket" around the zipper. The replica's leather is smooth while the Armani's is creased. That's not just age but a design choice. I've seen it in pictures of four different Armani jackets over the years.

We’re about the same size/height.
I recently purchased a dark leather jacket for Christmas. Nowhere near price of yours but compliments nonetheless
Love the Frugal Bond!! Great jacket. Im baffled by the lining difference though. That seems like the easiest thing to replicate. Great video.
6:32 Oh look. There are two of you. Two Davids. Lucky Me.... 😂 (drunkenly rambles in french).
Great video! I miss the Frugal Bond videos! I think any differences in color are only due to the age of screen used one and also the fact that it was beat up in the filming.

Great work David.
Good stuff, good stuff.
How is it cropped compared to the original?
I will definitely buy this jacket, great video.
"Maybe you've been down here too long" what I was thinking when I saw two Davids in front of me
I'd definitely wear that around the house!
How’s the shipping time frame?
fast. I got mine in about a week or so. great jacket
Igualito que 007..... cazadora, omega..... todo!
I want the pea coat You’ve never notified me
David and David

that's why the Armani one is $4000

David could sell the world if he wanted to truly a professional

Everytime I watch Daniel Craig’s bond I get Steve McQueen vibes ?
I think the small is too tight. the medium fits better.

First,yaaaaayy.
I love ya David but if $385 is frugal, I’m destitute.
that is a very good price for a lambskin jacket of this quality. I bought one and love it
Just heard from latest episode of "about effing time" on UA-cam that some bloke from a Netflix show called Emily in Paris, an actor called Lucien is the new Bond. I think it's a miss if true.
Did you have the screen used jacket professionally cleaned, please? If not, Craig's sweat and body oils have rubbed off onto you. 😂😬🤢
I would not have washed that jacket if you paid me!! That's the point of screen used, you want their bodily fluids on it!!
I know it's only for fun, and I'm a huge Bond fan, but not sure why anyone wants to dress up as Bond? Is it a cosplay thing, because it seems very odd otherwise.

@@cottonkaanana1263 Okay thanks, that's a very good explanation. I appreciate the time.
It is cosplay, but with the unique aspect that nobody will know, they'll just say "nice jacket".
The only thing that NTTD did right was killing off Bond. Bond is DEAD. Bury it.
