I wish you went more deeply into his theory and the students that published his works. But this was definitely the perfect refresher course. Thank you!
This is so interesting because it also explains some cultural differences as everyone's generalized other is based on their specific location and proximity and i wonder how the trend to globalization is affecting subjective realities and generalized others.
I think that this is great, because it's important to have a global understanding of 'others' and how they can manifest in different cultures, which ultimately leads to a higher understanding of the self.
