It's always been like that for me. If I need more time I just resume my dash and then immediately pause again.
Yes, the 35 minute rule is true. I'm in Upstate NY. That being said i don't have to cherry pick heavily. Most orders as a Platinum driver are over $2 per mile. There are upside-down orders still but not so many that it tanks my AR. I stay around 75% AR.

Begin of the year, Portland Oregon , you can get real good orders but I noticed within the last few weeks. You see a lot of 2 to 3 dollar orders, back to back
The best thing to do is to schedule an hour to an hour and a half, then take 30 minutes of not being on the schedule, then schedule another dash. I've seen Doordash do this in the past, but not lately.
We are starting to sound less and less like independent contractors. They are really pushing the line of legality.
What? 🤔 DD has had that policy for YEARS! It’s NOT new. And if you have Top Dasher or Platinum (where available) then it’s not even an issue. But if you’re cherry picking, then you’re just greedy and stiffing your clients. Just stop. 😞
brother we are not taking $3 no tip orders for 10 miles which i’ve got and declined. if you are not cherry picking i don’t see how your making enough money for your time and vehicle costs.
@@nathanfogach753 I average $20/hr any given day of the week running at 90+% acceptance and 100% completion. Could I do better by declining more offer? Yes, probably. And I’d do even better if they’d fix the catering order system. (I made $30-40/hr on the old system) but trying to balance two apps at the same time is dumb. Pete’s talked about this before so it’s old hat, but why play stupid games only to win stupid prizes? (Btw: I rarely get $3 orders for high miles and I do decline them.) full disclosure, I’m part time right now because I have a good job. But I survived when I was FT just fine. 🤷♂️
@@nathanfogach753 oh, and what you’ve described as cherry picking isn’t what cherry pickers are talking about. My son is a FT cherry picker on dash and he declines $10 orders for 6 miles cause he thinks he deserves $20 for 6 miles. (He always wins the stupid prizes but still won’t listen to me. 🤷♂️)

Brother I only take $3 per mile orders and still make good money. I’m not taking $2 a mile orders or worse ever
