If the millions of university and college students of Pakistan had stood for their nation like the American students are standing and are standing not for their own country but for Palestanians! They are observing the destruction of their own nation before their eyes for the last two years and doing nothing! Even they didn't feel they needed to call at least a nation-wide protest even against the almost three times price-rise of the essential commodities to create some pressure on their illegal government! A country practically now more than half of its population are below poverty line and almost every student is observing how their parents are struggling so hard to feed them and send them to school and colleges! They have got a world-class far-sighted and pragmatic leader and who has recently won by 2/3 majority of votes as Prime Minister of Pakistan but army dismissed his election and rigged the results openly for their puppets. The name of this popular leader is Imran Khan( once world's best cricket captain) who was illegally put in jail by unruly army on about 250 totally false cases and now in jail for more than eight months and from jail even after denial of party symbol and party supporters were barred from election campaign and widespread arrest of top and medium level party leaders he won the national election! But army didn't allow him or his party their constitutional rights! He for the last 28 years was struggling for the bright future of his nation, especially for the youths, the students but the students seem have got absolutely no concern for him that they should protest for his release and create pressure on army to return the legal rights to his party to rule Pakistan!

Although it is over 30 years ago that I graduated from Columbia Engineering, it seems like yesterday. I am proud of my Alma Mater for its students putting up a peaceful resistance yet again.
