Hey Billy Gene, I just watched the short that you posted with your Momma. She is A BEAUTIFUL LADY!!! No wonder you are giving her such loving care, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Praying the Lord protects ya'll from the severe weather that is devastating so many! Hoping the cough will not be serious. You and Granny Pat are a great part of my day. I’m, still watching, but thought I’d pass along a hint for your ‘self-preservation’ while I can remember it. Holding that ear of corn while cutting is not an easy task. I learned to stick a corn holder in the end of my corn to hold so I wouldn’t cut my fingers off. Actually, it works.
Wish I could help you eat this. Can’t wait to get fresh home grown sweet corn.

I have never done corn like that, I might try it. Good for you not listening to the whiners who think they know best on how to make a video. We enjoy watching the whole process. There's a critic on every corner.

Cooking is becoming a lost art! Same way Mama creamed corn. We didn't have the bacon I guess. I gotta try that and the squash. Parboiling/mWaving veggies is genius. Home cooked taste minus hrs over stove. Thank you
Yes microwaving saves me hours in a week, I never really used the wave until I found out it really saved me time and did not rob me of great tasting food or my home recipes...

Can’t beat fresh creamed corn! A trick that I use for cutting corn is to put the bottom of the ear in the center of a Bundt cake pan. It holds the ear as you cut it, and the pan catches the kernels of corn.
Gosh I’ve always remembered my mom making this when I was very young. Always wondered how bc for some reason she stopped. Thaaaank you.

I do lacey cornbread as Brenda Gantt calls it, I grew up on this thin corn mix in the hot oil, a little ruff unless I have my teeth in to eat, so usually just make skillet corn bread, not all the grease too, mom likes the lacey also. Thanks for watching. ❤️
