    What size beads and where do you get them that you use to put on the shank of the hook between the body and hook?

      Usually 6mm in glow but I’ve used 10mm as well. Kinda just go with what I have

    I am new squid 🦑 fisherman.
    Is it better to have jig sink all the way to the bottom???
    Or use the float to make it stay in the middle like 2-3meters or at the top at 1 meter down length?
    I am fishing at the dock and I don’t know how deep it is?
    People are fishing squid but. I can’t seem to get any catch.

      You definitely can catch them during the day. Just have to be there when the schools come through

    What type of test do you use, mono or braid?

    • @HolyMolyOutdoors
      @HolyMolyOutdoors  Місяць тому +1

      Mainline 12lb, between the jigs 20-50lb for doubles

    So tides, what is the " ideal" tide situation and the worst. Since im coming from the Longview area i would prefer to be hitting the peir at the best time.

      @@victorbenner539 I’ll be doing another video to highlight the tides, but happy to share. I feel my best success is a high tide after dark. But I am finding more that I go they are there at all tides it just depends on when the schools go by. In the first part of the video it was a big low and we were catching

      @HolyMolyOutdoors i was thinking tides with low flows would be preferred by the squid so as to be less strenuous. Easier for them to attack prey.

    For jig selection, absolutely do NOT buy the jigs at WalMart. I grew up near a squid pier (Illahee) and did extensive testing. They didn't even come close to catching what the jigs from Sportsman's Warehouse did

      And no joke you can get quality jigs from the local guys too for 5$. Better quality and fish catchers.
