Thanks for being the only vid on UA-cam I could find where you get the side pieces off. Went through like 3-4 where they skipped that and it's literally the main thing to be able to swap these out.
Thank you! I got my daddy's truck, after he passed. I really needed this help and advice
Anytime, anything i can help with let me know
You saved me $175. My fob was continuously ghost locking and unlocking the doors. Key shop wanted $190 for a new programmed fob. I bought the Amazon unprogrammed one, used your video to swap circuit boards, and it works great! Thank you!
Bought a used '18 Silverado and the fob was whooped. My wife suggested the replacement shell on Amazon and I found your video. Thanks!!!
This is the best video I've seen step by step
Thank you SO much! I had been looking for a video that showed how to pop off the dang silver parts! You are my hero right now!
Glad it helped, thank you for your comment 😀
This was also extremely helpful for me as well. I also inherited my late father’s Colorado after paying off his loan. He had two fobs one had a hole on the unlock button side… I made the Amazon remote work with the dealer back and also still have the bow tie on back but mine was a little different and had two shave the inside lip off the original case so they were flush but I couldn’t have done this without breaking it unless I had watched your UA-cam first 👍 I am much appreciated
You’re video was helping in getting me started with my GMC fob cover replacement. Unfortunately my original back cover with the mini GMC badge has a moulded well for the battery, so it wasn’t compatible with the new cover.
O dang, i figured they would be the same. Thank you for the comment
So what did you do? I bought some new remotes and it has the board and battery in them already from Amazon. But im havinv a hard time finding a video on programming a fob only for my 2015 GMC Sierra
@@mommascasaessucasa5921 In my case, I wasn’t able to use the back of the original fob which has the mini GMC badge. So, I had to use the entire replacement fob housing.
Thanks for the great video, I used my old silver sides since there metal not plastic and also used my old backing with the GMC logo.
Thank you! I kept the sides and backing but used the plastic to see how they would hold up
I didn't know that we could do fast idle smh. I ended up poking myself with the screw driver. Your the best yet. everyone else doesn't go into full detail. thanks.
What does fast idle even do ?
You are Awesome!! I have a 2018 Chevrolet 3500hd and your solving all the problems I've had so far and will probably have in the future!! Thank You!!! 🤗🤗👍🏻👍🏻
This is one of the most inspirational videos I've ever seen. Thank you for your wisdom.
How-to video, done right. Thank you so much!
This video is what looking for.. I ordered my new remote for my Chevy it I. I not even know how to replace it ! Thank you so much !
Thank you after looking a few times and giving up because I could not find a video on this I FINALLY came across your video and you made the change easy! I really appreciate your video and after a few min. On your page can’t wait to find out so much more info. Thanks again.
Thank you, I'm glad it helped
Thanks so much this is the only video explaining how to do it , not just the battery thabks !
I never know what you'll be doing next! Thanks for the video!
Thank you for your comment!
I think your fob over was a different company from the one that I purchased (also on amazon), but looks the same except, the one I tried has metal side clips. The case of the original will break LOL. I did stick the little screw driver into my finger, so working with a bandage does add a touch of complication....
once you realize you will break the clips off the original it makes it easier knowing you do not have to be very gentle with it, but it goes pretty easy after that. I was able to use the original battery cover with the GMC emblem on one, but the other one snapped off the clips when I was installing it on the new one.
Thanks
Great video! Only one that shows an easier way to remove metal side covers. If you go in from the side, it is a real pain in the arse. We'll see how she holds up, but looks great to replace the worn out older button face.
Thank you for the detailed video, recently thought about replacing mine.
I'm about ready to replace mine again. It gets a ton of use. I've noticed when i have greasy hands from an oil change or mechanic work the grease breaks down the rubber faster.
I just got mine done, thanks to your instructions!
Good deal!
Thanks man really helped me out !
Glad it helped, thank you for the comment!
Hey buddy I’m on I-80 but ready to come across 76W into Colorado, then to Los Angles area to drop off a small tear drop! Third camper this week for me!!! Always fun to see what you come up with, I enjoy tinkering too! Keep my mind sane!!!
Heck yea, I'm picking up a 17 foot monster in morning headed to Bakersfield.
Thank you very much for the video sir, I really appreciate it.
Thank you! This helped me out so much!
Good video. Keep up the good work
Thank you!
Actually, you’re able to use the OEM backing with the aftermarket. I did it with mine, and it fit perfectly just to keep the bowtie. LoL
Thank you so much for this video.
You saved my day!!!! Thank u sir!!!!!!!! 🙂
Thanks for this.
Good explanation. But camera is so fr from the fob we can’t see much. Try to get it closed next time. Thanks
Yes sir, thank you!
Thanks 👍
Thanks!!
Your the best. Thanks a million. Super video.
thank you!
How do you make it fast idle from the fob I have a 2016 2500HD LTZ 6.6 duramax
I have the autosync from btdieselworks. It gives me the fast idle and fast idle from fob plus a ton more features
Thank you for this video I did it
Thank you!
Great video !
Big flaw with our trucks the alarm is weak af!
yea, I don't think mine has ever went off except if I lock the door with the remote then just open the door without unlocking with the fob
Thanks you!
Thank you very helpful
I've had mine for six years, and didn't know it had a fast idle with remote
What type of battery does it have for replacement
It takes a CR 2032
Problem with this key fob from Amazon is how cheap its made. My truck won't unlock anymore, I have to go through the passenger side. And the mirrors stow every time I lock it.
Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm still using mine as my primary fob. I haven't had any issues
Great video but I can't for the life me of get the fuckin sides off!
Thank you! Pretty much have to break them off
Ordered my replacements from amazon. I was perfectly calm when i started, by the time i finished was a stark raving mad rage filled crazy person !!! ...... tore the old fob to fuck'n bits
That's about the only way to get them apart. They definitely could have designed that better
The Amazon replacement is cheap for $20 more you can get OEM part, I’m looking for a how to and this guy makes a video but he doesn’t know how, I’m not spending 16 minutes watching him fumble through the process!
Thanks man. Definitely helped me out.
