One of the best racing games. Iconic map, fun gameplay, unique missions, banging soundtrack. What an underrated masterpiece.
It was amazing. It doesn't even need a remaster. Compared to the games they release these days at least lol

The downfall to Driv3r is that they rushed to release it. However I loved the game and played in free roam for hours at a time @cerberus276gaming6

I played it on PS3 about 6 months ago. When I tired to play online I was surprised to see the servers were still available. I even found a handful of people who were playing it.
Was gonna say that to pants, I played it on Xbox and it was still on so don't know why we're being told it's off 🤷🤷
same happened with fat princess, i was told that the servers had been taken down years ago, and then i, just for the hell of it, try out the online mode... and i'm in, there were other people playing and everything, i'm just assuming some dedicated fans came together and somehow made functional servers for even non-cfw/hen ps3's just out of spite for fat princess adventures

@@herrcobra_05 no you don't! the code did not work and everyone has access to it! I didnt try with my HFW though but I used to have a copy and and it worked without having to use the passport code. I remember it used to say you have 9999hrs until activation or something LOL. That's why he made this joke at 14:54

This was the first game I played on a console, for 10 minutes. I fell in love with the game in those 10 minutes. Fast forward to a couple years ago, I got an xbox 360 for free and finally found a physical disc for Driver:SF. Fast forward to today, I got a job and bought a Series X and can play with the only friend I made in those years leading up to today. :)

I was already aware of the servers for this game's multiplayer still being open months ago so when I read the title, I thought that Panthaa meant that they were reselling it on steam or something. Kinda got myself hyped up for a second 😔

This game is an unique racing game, not like other generic racing games.The swapping cars in the middle of race is amazing , reminds me of Battlefield 2 Modern Combat where you can swap soldiers to soldiers in the middle of the war 😁
They should make it purchasable again, honestly would pay full price.
I don't see many shoutouts to Chonky! He's a real one for coming through for this video, and ended up being a really fun addition. I'd love to see him pop up in some more videos :)

One of the best and fun games I've ever played. Even 2 player split screen and all the challenges apart from the story was awesome. It was like the original driver when you play challenges. My favorite game ever made I can safely say!!!
I'm wondering if this is a clue to a potential new game in the series at some point in the future. Didn't a similar thing happen to TDU2? I loved Driver SF, OK the story was terrible but I thought the overall package was good, and it was always fun to jump back in for a cruise about.

I was playing on my XBSX last night and thought I was going crazy when I saw the online mode was working, I had no idea they jumpstarted the servers. I hope this doesn't change.

ive never saw this games multiplayer. for real racing games got really bad over the years. this 10+ years old game has more mulitplayer content(and better matchmaking system) than newer racing games combined. its crazy how racing games glow down.

Yeah driver San Francisco is a pretty neat game. It's pretty unique with the shift feature they have that you can shift into any vehicle you see. I think the sing player career had a pretty decent story. It would be neat if they were to make a game like this again.
I think in some respects maybe the crew 1 and the crew games are sort of like a spiritual successor to the driver games correct me if I'm wrong. They have some elements I think in the recent crew games of driver san francisco in them. In a future dlc for the crew motorfest they could maybe add a playlist or mission that gives at least a nod to the driver games including driver sf.
I dont mean to be too critical but the only thing that maybe they should of updated or changed in driver san francisco is the nitrous/boost visuals. When you use the nitrous you kind of notice something but maybe adding like flames from the exhaust pipes like other racing games that have nitrous or boosts in them. It doesnt have to be like nfs unbound is with the effects in that game when you use nitrous. It should be similar to like the crew motorfest where you just see flames or fire from the exhaust pipes and maybe the screen blurs to make you feel as if you're picking up speed. Other than that I think driver san francisco is a neat game to try out.
As you mentioned but in single player theres not just races they have activities/events were you have take someone down or go through checkpoints to get somewhere in time. What is again that is a selling point I think of the game is the shift feature where whatever other traffic vehicles you can see you can sort of teleport into that vehicle and drive it for example you're driving around somewhere and theres a dump truck in front of you. If you want to have it moved away you just shift into it and you can drive it away and switch back to the vehicle you were just driving.
Like I said above maybe they could add to the crew motorfest like a mission or playlist where you do an event in which you have to switch to another vehicle similar to driver san francisco to complete an objective for example.
Driver san francisco again I think is a cool game. I think the premise is neat. It's a unique driving game for it's time. It also has sort of a 1970s vibe to it I think aswell. Take care blackpanthaa it's good seeing from you looking forward to more vids.

I think on PC people manged to do it regardless. But this is so good!! I missed this so much! sadly my PS3 is rigged so I'm offline really :P even though I'm sure going online isn't the worst to do anyway

Unfortunately they have patched it or something. I've been playing on on PC and got no luck with connecting to servers.
It started with Driver San Francisco then the Crew then The Crew 2 Now Motorfest. So if you think they will make another driver i dont think they will
imo MCLA had better multiplayer. I was still playing it in 2011 as a kid when this game came out, and I just didn't enjoy this as much as MCLA. the story was decent enough though, it kept kid me engaged enough to finish it. Not enough to finish it the like 10+ times i've beat MCLA though lmao, I go back to that game semi often. I need to either find an emulator that works or set up my 360 and play it again, its honestly been too long
(MCLA is Midnight Club Los Angeles for those who don't know)
This has brang back so many memories from ps3 ❤ one of the best games to ever exist in racing game history
I remember having this game when it released or not long after when I was 8 or 9 years old and it was such a fantastic open world car game and I'm only upset that it can't be bought digital on backwards compatible and you need a physical copy to play it on mew gen, if only I didn't get rid of all my 360 games when the previous gen xbox came out cos I'd have been able to play all those 360 games on series X now, the only 360 one I kept was OG MW2 and BO1

Me sitting here with all the of games on steam, but getting an Xbox for Driver SF.
Panthaa, you can still play this on PC though, via Alcatraz mod. I hope the PC version of TC1 will have an offline mod eventually, too. But that's assuming Ubisoft doesn't do something stupid like send the community a C&D for trying.

Its shame for ubisoft to kill one of the most great racing games to date, hope it keeps being online and even remastered with new content (more likely not..)
These servers have been back up since July 2023 on PS3 at least the only people playing online are trophy hunters getting the online trophies

I owned it on the ps3. Completed the game and got a bunch done. It got scratched though. It was, unrecoverable. Wish I had jailbroken it at the time, but that was when the ps3 still kinda mattered. Before ps5. Way before. Now I also broke the jailbreak cause I accidentally updated the console. Sony knows how to get some people. That's for sure
