Driver San Francisco is honestly one of the best, unique, and most underrated, racing games I have ever played, playing it again reminds me of so much good memories.
100% agree! All the driver games were good fun and many of us have so many memories from each one. 🤩 The director mode is truly something special that you don't really get in any other game. For content creators this is suberb! 😍
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I instantly knew it was Driver San Francisco. I’ll never forget this game. The driver series was a very big part of my childhood 😪
I mean, it's one thing for Ubisoft to delist this game from online stores and make it unavailable for purchase, but for them to do so while also not giving a reason why it was delisted is something else entirely...
This is such a underrated game. It was a head of its time. The Cutscenes were amazing for the time, the story is unique and incredible. The damage model is great and the Car list and Car sounds are incredible. Don't forget the Online missions and Movie missions which make this game one of the best of all time. Hats off to all the people who were involved in the making of this game. And thank you for making a Masterpiece.
Exactly, it's just straight up depressing... I still have faith in the future of racing games with TDU Solar Crown, so it better be one hell of a masterpiece like the previous ones.
This game was severely slept on. I remember coming across it on accident at gamestop and thought eh looks like fun ill try it. Little did I know it would become a rare fan favorite
Hands down best simcade driving physics ever. When I saw Reflections was working on The Crew I was hoping they'd lift the handling model from Driver... But that didn't happen...
The physics for this game are garbage tbh 😂 what are you talking about???? I could literally be driving and hit a curb or poll and my car goes crazy flipping over
Another great part of this game was that each non-story related mission had a self-contained story in them, and they could be anything. One was rushing to a hospital to save someone bitten by a venomous spider, one was a couple running from the cops only to find out the wife set up the husband the whole time, one was about two cops who teamed up to take down a counterfeit medication ring, and way more as well.
I actually think the physics at high speed are awesome. It feels like the downforce is actually working. On Supercars atleast. Older cars are more unstable on the other hand
This game is honestly an absolute masterpiece. I slept on it for years, not really bothering with the missions. However, some time last year I randomly decided to give the game another go, purely out of boredom. The gameplay, storyline, all the intricate little details, and especially the atmosphere of the game had me totally mesmerised. It was like being the protagonist in a movie.
Driving was some of the most realistic in any game . The body roll when going in to corners. Handling. Engine sounds. Better driving experience than a modern day Forza and GT7 and this is from an arcade style game... Online was beyond fun. Seeing how long you could get chased by everyone in the lobby
DUUUUUUDE I COMPLETELY FORGOT THIS EXISTED HOLY SHIT YOU BROUGHT ME BACK A FEW YEARS. This game was simply ahead of its time an awesome game I enjoyed it thank you for unlocking a long lost memory/achievement actually brought a tear to my eye seeing this
This game brings back so many memories and I loved Jericho and how he tricked the mind and you get to also switch between different cars and experience a one of a kind story.
Driver : San Francisco was one of the most original takes on a driving game ever. So much fun. This vid makes me want to play this hidden gem again. Thanks Panthaa!
The devs spent $16 million over 6 years to develop Driver San Francisco and they actually have different physics matching weight horsepower plus drivetrain type ex. FWD AWD etc. And the entire San Fran map was accurately detailed another cool feature is when driving a Police car in a chase you can hit Z and you will teleport automatically to the closest Cop car to the suspect vehicle.
I already have it and apsolutely adore it!!! The second i saw that orange challenger on the thumbnail i knew it was Driver S.F. one of best and most unique racing games of my childhood.
Driver San Francisco was one's of the best experiences i had in my entire life and it was my childhood trampoline into the racing games, the main story was short (you can complete the story mode in just one sitting) but well made, the map of San Francisco is huge with lots of roads to ride with your favorite car, the physics are very good and almost everything makes this game in a total experience you should try once in your life.
It has column shifting animations. In a game about being comatose. By the way Panthaa check out the mods for this game. There’s a mod menu with nifty features as well as mods to make police more fun.
I hope you turn this into a series, we will binge it day n' night Driver San francisco has, without a doubt, THE most unique storytelling concept i've ever seen, the idea of john playing out the events that only happen because of the TV news is so brilliant i honestly believe we couldn't comprehend what was happening. (I didn't know the entire was being played out inside john's head until many years later) also, what was in jericho's mouth exactly, and why did the cops put it in his mouth I loved this game, i kept replaying it on new game, racing against my dad, it was so much fun. it rivaled Need for speed: carbon for the best racing game in terms of; story, cars, and characters
Thank you so much for making a video about this game, I love it! One of if not, the most underrated racing games of all time... 60fps on PS3/XBox 360 with so much traffic, the shift ability and good yet satisfying driving/crash physics and the list goes on... Couldn't make my day better! Thank you Theo! 💪
I got this for my Xbox 360, I haven't played it recently but I definitely have to again soon, some other good channels that cover stuff about this game are Olanov (he does a lot of GTA content mainly) and especially MineandDrive, also a detail I love in this game is cars with LED taillights actually have LEDs, like the Escalade and Ford GT, and cars with halogen lights have actual halogens, I really don't get why more games don't have this, I just wish this game had a day/night cycle
This is seriously one of the best games i have ever played. You have no idea what's coming to ya later in this game , it just keeps getting better and better.
This game is such a gem and is probably my all time favorite driving game, I remember there was a collector's edition which came with a model of Tanner's Dodge challenger but they are super rare and expensive now. I was lucky to get one cheap and made a video on it a while back. I really am happy this game is being shown off today as it was an amazing tribute to classic car chase films of the 70s with a mix of modern story telling, this game is truly a masterpiece in my eyes.
Thx for the flashback, Theo. I remember buying Driver:San Fran on BOTH the Wii and 360 and they were two totally different games. The Wii version didn't have the "coma flash" feature and was closer to the traditional Driver experience. The storyline was a bit different as well. Coincidentally enough, I still own both versions all these years later.
I’m gonna say this game has one of the best stories of any “racing game” I’ve ever played, hands down No other game that involves cars to this level has as deep of a story, And I hope that changes soon
I would never uninstall this game from my PC ,it will always be my top 1 It missed out on only two things 1 bigger map 2 car customization The rest of it aspects is god tier 🤩🤩 Best car physics Best first person mode after driveclub ( wheels fully rotates ) Great car list GOD TIER story Best npc voice acting You can tell the devs loved what they were doing while making this game ❤❤
Not only driver San Francisco but the whole driver franchise might be gone but definitely not forgotten. I played driver parallel lines and I have to say the game was just amazing bro. Amazing.
Fun fact... If you buy a game and launch it you will see a license agreement which in the nutshell means that the developer's can pull out the game out of the stores whenever they want but if it's ownership agreement and they remove it you can sue them
One of the best driving games and definitely the best that Ubisoft ever made (still a shame that they made the handling in The Crew so strange). The voice acting was great, the story is creative, the sound design was beautiful and most importantly it's so much fun to play. It was a game meant to be enjoyed
I've never played this before but it looks like a super sick game. As son as I get my new PC, I'll definitely be taking a look at this. I want to see more.
"I'm gonna pop your neck with my hands.." loved the 1st 2. Got San Fran on 360 but can't find it. Jericho was a beast, trench coat and dual wield sawn off double barrel shotties
NOOO I have so many good memories with this game. Me and my friend had this made up game where one player had to try and total the other, one person had to survive in one choosen car as long as possible while the other player was allowed to swap into everything and try to destroy the other player.
If they remastered this game I would buy it instantly, not change anything else, just update the graphics and include more cars, the driving physics are SUBLIME! 👌
I'm glad this is still playable on Xbox One if you got the physical copy. I heard that if you bought the game digitally, you got locked out of it once Ubisoft pulled it from the store - a hold over of the DRM days I guess.
Without bragging, I'm in the top 50 in the world on this game, I started on 360 then moved on to one s then one x. Absolutely adore this game especially because the game that built this was the one I grew up with. The original STUNTMAN.

Im glad my dad bought this game for me like 7 years ago (CD for PC it was about 4€) since i know that you cant get it anymore. Have to play this magical piece of childhood again!
Driver san francisco is such a unique racing game. I love it. In fact, i still own the ps3 copy. Didn't Nick evans make a video about driver san francisco. Man that video was great
I want this franchise to be revived. Timeline should start with the 70's and progress up to the 00's. The original Driver game ripped me a new one with the parking garage mission but it was so fun and rewarding after completing the story missions. I was so excited when I got Driver 2 I bought the PlayStation Magazine at a gas station. (I was with my parents at a diner nearby) and read the review of it countless of times until I came home. Demo disc had the Havana mission on it) I had pizza, snacks and drinks while staying up all weekend. Christmas 2000 made it all worth it when I got Driver 2 from my parents. That moment.. That was pure happiness. Completed the game and spent months to find secrets and glitches by exploring every city.
It's actually really sad. Because this game also had one of the most unique and enjoyable multiplayer experiences I've ever enjoyed. And it even had Open World Split Screen where my brother and I used to have last man standing demo derbies lol. We sometimes had to close our eyes and select a car randomly without seeing lol.
Actually you can, there are a lot of traders on steam that contain either uplay key or even steam key, but the problem is that they sell it for A LOT of money because of the rarity
I still remember to good old days of driver the time were you were stuck in one vehicle I was blown away when driver 2 come out and you can change vehicle's. Dam a link would have been love too to this driver game
I still have this for Xbox 360; very underappreciated gem, most certainly overshadowed by other racing games at the time. I've always been a fan of the Driver series, hoping it would return one day by some crazy miracle of luck.
Driver San Francisco is honestly one of the best, unique, and most underrated, racing games I have ever played, playing it again reminds me of so much good memories.
Also - it's arcade, but... still it's very satisfying that you can easily feel difference in driving each car. Damn masterpiece.
100% agree! All the driver games were good fun and many of us have so many memories from each one. 🤩

If is better than the GTA the definition
So this isn't the remastered version of the '99 driver game
