My wife and I are videographers and we just love your energy. Also very well said about Vendors! We love chatting with our clients before we book. Coffee at 1 PM, no judgement!

Vendor hunting is such a process. I was super lucky. A family friend offered their venue and i used wedding wire for local vendor ideas. The photographer we chose was very good friends with a videographer who also happened to be married to a coordinator. Theres a locally famous dj we chose and we went with a local restaurant for catering. Florals was the absolute hardest vendor to find.

My partner may have finally admitted we should probably get a dj to handle all the music for the wedding...thank you future sister in law!!! She brought up certain tradtional events and dances and what songs we wanted...i may have told her i wanted to hire a dj and have been having trouble convincing my guy 😉

Love these videos! Wish I found them sooner. While on the subject of vendors, can you do a video about how you should leave reviews for them and what to include. Also, maybe how much to tip each vendor or if you even have to tip them. Like do I tip the vendor providing my flowers?

Hi Jamie! I did find a hack for saving on the bar with my venue (A beautiful hotel). We asked the hotel to prepare a few pitchers of Sangria and also bought a few bottles of champagne. If our guests want something else, they can go downstairs to the hotel bar or the lobby Starbucks for coffee.

do you have any advice for planning an same-sex wedding when it comes to things like bakeries, vendors, venues... and how to deal with relatives/family? Or just family drama at wedding in general?

Hi Jamie, I absolutely love your channel, it has been soooo helpful for planning my wedding, so thank you!
I had a question about how do you try to negotiate with vendors?
There is only really one reception venue in my area which is appropriate. They are a new cafe restaurant and haven't done a wedding before. I've been emailing them back and forth, had a meeting. They weren't very organised, but didn't seem too bad, and the location and food are amazing. Today they just threw me a curve-ball with a minimum spend which is way out of my budget range, and for the number of people and price per head they've quoted, I don't even know how we would reach that. Considering they haven't done a wedding before, their out-of-the-way location, and their lack of organisation etc, I was thinking of calling them to try an negotiate a lower minimum spend, something that is more realistic for us. I'm just not sure how to go about doing that, how to word it etc. Any advice would be magical! Thank you!

Hi Jamie, I just wanted to say I love your videos! I just have a question about vendors: do you have to meet up with every single vendor you talk to or can you just talk to them/ book them over the phone or over Skype (if you want to see them/ their portfolio)? Thank you so much! :-)

Question: 1) what’s the difference between a wedding coordinator and a wedding planner? 2) if I am having a destination wedding do I find a coordinator from we’re I am located or located at the wedding destination? 3) what’s the cost of a coordinator? Or should I say how do you guys charge?

Jamie girl, I need your help 😭 How do you feel about all inclusive weddings? I seriously am so overwhelmed with my wedding and wish you were my bff 😂😭

Jamie Wolfer the relief of stress is really what’s pulling me in the all-inclusive direction. My original budget was 10k, but I can’t seem to find anything here in Florida that has a beautiful rustic look, that isn’t already 5-8k just for some chairs, tables and the venue. The only place I found was a beautiful all-inclusive barn and it’s pretty amazing for all that it offers at 13k. The only thing it doesn’t offer is dessert, apps, or photography. Flowers are fresh and GORGEOUS, food is bbq and is absolutely delicious, I mean it all sounds perfect, but by the end of the wedding we’re gonna be pretty over my original budget (which my mom is willing to pay for but I feel horrible!) I’m just so stuck on if it’s worth it or not. Or if I should go with a 6k venue I loved, hire a coordinator and have them do the rest? I’m feeling so stuck because we don’t have dads, and both have Honda civics. Ain’t no way we can nor should drive an hour out to a barn and completely set up, decorate and then break down. I feel like it takes away from the fact that hello, it’s your wedding day! Regardless I’m gonna be way over budget and I’m dying here! Tips? Advice? Feel like throwing my hands in the air and doing a destination.
