yo mate thanks was trying to make a watermark for a friend andd this helped! will keep u updated if it works or not Edit: worked like a charm. Thanks to the creator for hearting me and reminding me to give the update lmao
I need to know how to REMOVE the background from that last face that had a background. How do I import an image that has a background and then remove that background to save my image as a png with a transparent background?
Here's how I do it: 1) Draw a shape around the spots of the image you want to keep. (I use the bezier tool) 2) Select the image and then the shape 3) Click "Object > Clip > Set" I hope this helps. :D
@@ShiftClickLearn I need more info on this as well. I have text with a shape like a logo and want to get rid of the background. If I use the bezier tool it will take forever and look like crap. Any other suggestions?
I made a plain drawing of a circle with lines thru it, the concept u showed took away the background but I can still see thru my circle which I do not want to do, how do I fix that?
@@ShiftClickLearn Nah, that doesn't happen. We all start with a logo where there is already a white background. If I import that file and than follow your unstructions a get a PNG with my logo and a white background and the PNG we created around that is transparent, but your instructions don't change the original. Kr, Muski
when I import a PNG with a transparent background into Inkscape, and trace the bitmap I am getting a white background. If I export it back to a PNG I get a PNG file with a white background. What am I doing wrong?
Make sure to stick around until the end...There are BLOOPERS!!!! :D

That's ok! Make the drawing and export it as a PNG like I showed. If you do that, you will have no white background! :D

can you remove color from an existing image and create a transparent background
Yeah, you can! You have to draw a shape around the object, then use Object > clip > set!
Great - you made a very interesting video 👍
