Hello Daniel, I have a lot of coins and I don't have to much time to dedicate to sale them is there any place to help me sale them and approximately how much I will pay for comission, just an idea.
Thank s again Daniel , I did take trade dollar we talked about to coin shop n goes to pcgs. It was a very rare m good grade , have now some proof mis strikes 61 n 59 pennies n there next , thanks again
How do I get in contact with you to become a client? Small stacker/collector but sure do love it and am gaining a trainload of knowledge from you. I am grateful for you.
Daniel, you are definitely one of kind. I’ve been following your videos for a while now and I’m so glad that I have. You are an honest and trustworthy dealer that tells things as they are. Unfortunately there aren’t enough people like you out there. We as human beings are naturally trusting and sometimes very gullible. We let ourselves believe that businesses are fair and have our best interests in mind. I realize that even you are in business to make a profit but your approach and honesty sets you apart from so many others. Let me not take up too much of your time and suffice it to say, thanks for your work ethics and honesty. I will continue to be a loyal follower.
Thanks for the information! My first major coin purchase was in 2008 through a deal you described: a collection of US Mint Uncirculated Sets spanning 1968 -2006 that I paid about $700 for through one of those home shopping channels. The actual retail individual value of the set pieces totaled about $450, so I ended up paying $250 more than I should have, or more than 50% over value. But I was new and didn't know any better. 12 years later, I now purchase all manner of coins and currency, but not without doing extensive research on each before buying. Consider that $250 back then the cost of my education.
My grandfather fell for Littleton's coin gimmicks back in the 80s and 90s. I have no idea how many coins he actually bought off them, as only a few were still in the envelopes or package they came in. However, I see the writing on the wall so-to-speak as I'm going through his collection. These people will do just about _anything_ to sell you something for a quick dollar and it's sad to see the other end of the deal, the people they rip off, their hard-earned cash going to waste.
Very helpful video . I'm 60 years old have doing Collecting since I was about 8 or 9. I see these predatory people And I hope Karma Gets Them. I helped so many people out Telling them what not to buy . My own brother was gonna buy silver When it was 23 an ounce. I Asked him why he Said everybody says is going to go to 50 I told him wait it will go down I'll tell you when to buy. I bought10 oz from Provident Spot price free shipping. 14.74 an ounce last Night has a new customer.Called my brother today he said all let me think about it.. You can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink.
As always great advice! I only buy 1 mintset per year, just to keep my sets up to date. The mint has come out with so much stuff (proofs, reverse proof, enhanced coins and on and on) and make so much of it. I wish there was more honest dealers like you around. Thanks again!
You are so correct and do a great service in educating those of us who choose to be objective and listen. I think of the term caveat emptor! Thank you and I think the fact you share freely and from experience that should not discount the wealth of info and the info to kindly give us freely.
Daniel thanks for pointing out those gold coins. What a sham!! I can definitely see how people are falling for it I checked eBay and you are right people are buying them for way too much. I feel bad for everyone.
THANK YOU for this video presentation. I recently came into possession of my wife's grandfather's "collection". I am new to this. This video commentary is valuable!!
they most overpriced coin dealer out there is definitely Littleton Coin Company. They are charging double or more of the actual value of the coin sometimes even more. That peace dollar was on LCC
Yep, Littleton and Gov Mint too! Gov Mint used to be New York mint! They burned me bad back in 2001 when I was knew to precious metals! STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM THEM! GREAT VIDEO! I was gonna do a video on this..👍
I believe you are one of the more honest people in this business I've clicked on several different sites and this is the only one I feel confident watching. Thank you so much for the information. Keep your powder dry
He’s 100% correct, and they go after older people and people who don’t know better, someone needs to put a stop to it because they go from price gouging to predatory pricing all the time!!! CRAZY!!! Thanks for the video brother!!!!!!😤😤😤😤
Thanks for a great informational video! I agree with all the triggers and traps you've discussed. Its so good to know that someone out there cares about the truth and the welfare of other collectors! I appreciate you so much!!
Great video! You have to remember: "Rare Coins" are rare and valuable because they are rare and valuable! HSN and other marketers need items to sell that are available in large quantities and at such a low cost that can be marked up tremendously. Ask yourself: "How rare can the coins be if they are sold via TV, the Internet, magazines and direct mail?" Save up and buy one or several "rare" coins from a legitimate dealer such as Daniel that will have much more potential than the quarters, halves and dollars that are now cranked out by the US Mint! Do some research and let history be the guide to what's rare and desirable to collectors. Be well! Ed
Unethical and misleading coin sales are the bane of this otherwise hugely rewarding hobby/investment. There is a very steep learning curve for novice numismatists. You do a superb job of educating some of us who might otherwise make a costly mistake during this learning process. I also like how you emphasize that certain types of sets such as paint or hologram decorated coins are fine to collect for fun to post on a shelf but really not with the expectation that value will stay the same or increase. Thanks for posting your enlightening videos.
I have learned a lot from watching Daniels videos I would recommend any new coin or precious metal beginner stacker or collector to tune in he’s a straight shooter and a very honest man.
Thanks Daniel i tell my grandson to check it out ,There is so many scams out there that you can get hurt really bad. So always do your home work, it doesn't hurt and can save you a lot of money.
I'm new to this community about four months in now. I have never entered a LCS just yet until I educate myself with at least getting familiar with some KEY DATES on these coins and always keeping my trusty RED BOOK at hand. Even when I participate in these CRH on these channels of how much I put in comparing to what I'm getting out of them. I've been a subscriber here for about three months now to know who I believe to be telling the truth. I'm a firm believer in the saying, "TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO HEAR NOT WHAT I WANT TO HEAR". Thanks for your honesty it goes a LONG WAY!!
I bought 1 lot on Ebay. I wish I had watched your video first. In the back of my head I thought I should no exactly what I am buying but I bought it anyway. I learned my lesson. What something is worth is very subjective.
Great advice Daniël for people who are just starting to collect coins!! And it's not just in the USA, we have the same kind of "problems" over here in Europe. The best advice would be to buy a catalog with mintage numbers and prices, for the coins you want to collect!!
Great info - if your gut says it’s “too good to be true “ probably it is . My 86 yr old dad fell victim to similar sales pitches . Korean War vet who now needs family help because Scammers prayed on him for years before we realized . Don’t know how those folks sleep at night !! Thanx for the videos !
Thank you so much for showing this video. I've seen people taken to the mill from some companies promising the world and only giving them the village. Your videos are so informative I encourage alot of people I know to watch them. You have a wonderful day and as always, Enjoy. CI
Glad I stumbled onto your blog, your video's are very educational. You are doing a great service to the Coin Collecting community and I want to Thank You for your knowledge.
Thanks for the video. You substantiate what I deal with in the myriad flyers and "Collector" offerings which they present. It's dismaying to see the incredibly, wildly, high prices for Morgan dollars
I have while watching a coin show on t.v. looked up the same date and mint mark on ebay and found the coin on t.v. being way over priced. Thanks for another entertaining and informative video.
Yeah, those “grab bags” are a scam. I bought a few rolls of pennies once. Never again! Every one of them were so smooth, that you couldn’t even see the dates.
I laugh at the guys trying to sell coins on one of those off channels especially when they put " you have only so many minutes" that screams scam to me. Like I say I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday.
Your the man on info on coins and yes it does help me a lot. If I wasn't so far from your coin store I woild be be there everyday buying coins from you. You should have a. Online store on your coins in the shop. I know it would be a nightmare in keeping up, just choose coins or what people are looking for. Great videos thanks again as always.
I just stack ASE circulated . US junk silver . I also do coin roll hunting half dollar and quarter boxes! These coins are way over priced on tv. Good video!👍
Gold plated coins are so awesome! They aren't any more valuable than plain, but I get to buy them for 2x or 3x times what they're worth. It's like being a US Congressman, except with my own money :-/
I have 80 % of my "stash" in pre 1964 dimes and quarters, 20% in silver Eagles. I buy locally and PAY CASH. Dimes and quarters will be easier to barter with than silver Eagles or ANY gold coins (when the whole shooting match melts down (and if it doesn't before i die, they go to a local pet shelter to be SOLD FOR MAXIMUM GAIN)
Wow, Same reasoning with me. I just posted this a minute ago...............I have a collection of all kinds of old U.S. coins. I don't collect as an investment as much as I do for an inflation hedge, since my cash only looses money just sitting in the bank. The other reason is for when, not if "IT" happens and paper money is worthless. I am seriously considering redeeming everything, including the silver coins in order to reinvest in dimes only. When "IT" happens, try buying something of value such as food, with that huge 25-50 dollar one dollar coin and see what happens. You sure don't want paper money as change. With dimes, you won't expect or need to get "change" back. You also don't have to convince anybody that your cute little silver "piece" is real silver, and you won't have to convince anybody that your dimes are real. Am I on track with my thinking or not ?
@@meauxjeaux431Yep. I've been saying this for YEARS. Silver Eagles are OK but getting change will be a problem. Dimes work much better as it is a SMALL piece of silver. For the past 2 years I have been buying rolls of dimes, pretty much stopped on the silver Eagles. I remember my history classes and how after WWII you needed a wheel barrow full of marks to buy a loaf of bread. WHEN the "crash" happens, the government WILL be at your bank when you go to open your safe deposit box and take it from you. People think I am nuts, but have NEVER BEEN THIS FRIGHTENED (and I am 64). Things are about to get real ugly. AND DON'T tell anyone you are keeping silver and hide it someplace secure. Good luck and thanks for actually reading my comments and thinking abut it. SMALL silver is the way to go, just avoid paying for "proof" or high dollar uncirculated coins. Circulated is OK because silver is silver.
@@MrTommyboy68 BIRDS OF A FEATHER ! I'm 66, and as frightened as you, because unlike so many people with their heads in the sand...I PAY ATTENTION ! I will NEVER buy a cute, special, "collector" or uncirculated coin either, because I already have too many of those. all I want is just silver dimes in decent shape...PERIOD ! The biggest problem I have is selling my collection and not getting what it's really worth, and then turning right around and buying dimes at the same value. And NO you are not nuts, unless I am too. My Truck NEVER goes anywhere my 9.mm does not go, and I have several guns, all fully loaded AND chambered in easily accessed places throughout my house. And if that's not enough, my entire outside living area including my house is surrounded by an 8 foot high "Trump wall" !
@@MrTommyboy68 I don't see somebody trading me more of a product because a coin is shiny, pretty, uncirculated or a collector piece either, because at that point, people won't be looking for "collector" coins, but just silver....PERIOD ! I'm also wanting to keep up with inflation, because banking my cash does NOT work. In the 60s you could buy a loaf of bread with a silver dime...today, with the same exact dime....YOU STILL CAN ! I know that 1st. hand because In the 50s, 60s, and 70s, my dad sold bread house to house and back then, would get paid with silver dimes, quarters, .50c pieces, and even dollar coins, even after '65 because people never valued them. He had lots of foresight because during those 30 years, he kept EVERY silver coin, plus every real old nickles and pennies. I now own his entire collection, including 3 full cigar boxes of wheat pennies.
Thank you for consideration for the animals! Make sure it’s noted in your will. I’m doing the same. Stacking for my use OR, if I don’t need it, going to humane society. Noted in my will.
I am not a Numismatist. I only buy Gold and Silver coins from reputable dealer. I do get some limited edition coloured coins for my grandchildren, but only if I like them.
Great vidio for new buyers. Also take an add of something you like to a coin shop and see if he can match or better the price. A friend showed me an add 2 silver dollars for 60 bucks. I sold him 3 silver dollars for 60 bucks. So shop around.
Please don’t collect this stuff thinking your going to leave it to your family and it is going to be worth something. I now am dealing with this coin collection that was left to my wife and am quickly learning that it’s not worth anything or not much more than money value. The time it’s taking me to deal with this is astronomical and could be spent better elsewhere earning real money. Heck the money spent on this collection would have been better invested instead in the stock market. If you like coin collecting fine. But at least pass on your knowledge and let the people who your leaving this stuff to know it’s true worth. Daniel, great advice. Thanks.
To determine a coin's worth, I "watch" at least 10 coins, and preferably more, of the same year, mint mark, quality and wear. Then I average the prices they auctioned for. That's a fairly accurate barometer in my opinion.
The trouble is these people are isolated and not telling anyone what they're doing. The other day, I went into my local coin shop and there was a man and his daughter selling stacks of silver rounds so that she could get a puppy. After they left I asked the shop owner if they were for sale? He said he was putting them into the scrap bucket. Turns out they were 20-gram rounds with George W on them. Her grandpa was buying these from a TV ad and giving them to her. They were worth only a fraction of what he paid. If he had gone to the coin shop, they could have steered him towards a much smarter purchase that would have held much more value.
I paid $1 for a 1942 - P walking liberty half dollar on a very sketchy site where lots of tech was being sold for way overpriced. I got the coin and then went to a coin shop, and the coin dealer looked at it, and it was authentic! That was around $8 profit!
Wow thanks for another good vedio.Didnt realize about these gold plated coins like the quarters etc that they aren't really worth more.U saved me again on not what to buy thanks again.
Yea ive seen adds saying they took a cross country trip buying unsearched wheats and estate lots.I couldnt imagine me being a coin junkie and having them, without searching .I'd be searching some asap.
You're advice is a great help. I have one of my Autistic sons into collecting with me, and this advice helps. I just subbed, and me and him will watch them.
Thanks for your honesty. We need more people like you in this world. I've learned something valuable today. As for myself, I will invest in a good metal detector and follow your advise on selling!
I use the PCGS App on my phone to check current auctions prices. I've purchased a couple of those 'Estate Lots', got some decent finds out of it (nothing to write home about, of course). But now, I'l check the App before agreeing to any 'sale' price on coins.
Thanks again Daniel , agreed on slabs n 1st strike , I buy raw eagles n just as nice as some slabs I have seen , my great nephews n cpl friends now watching your videos n learning , thank you bud
Excellent job , I enjoy you integrity , honestly, genius, but most of all your information is spot on. Thank you so very much. You’re saved my ass a few times.
my adviice , for new collectors, is simply dont buy expensive high ticket items....you can buy siilver coins for example for just a few bucks if you know where to look, and alot of coins, really neat ones that go for only five, ten , maybe 15 bucks,,... just start modestly....and as you learn what your doing...you can buy higher ticket items....and the reason i suggest silver, is becuase you can at least fall back on the silver content of the coin....so you know it has at least some value...anyways ....thats just my two cents..(pre 1982 cents) gl!
The U.S. Mint sets up a lot of secondary dealer markup prices by selling a coin or a set with a projected low mintage with no household limit. I've tried to get something from the mint that sells out within the first half hour, or less, and then go immediately to EBay and find as many as I want at a huge marked up price. Now, since the Mint has started putting a household limit on their low mintage coins I have received emails and have seen advertisements asking people to buy these coins from the Mint, and then sell them at a small profit to these dealers so that they can turn around and sell them at a big profit.
I bought some rolled coins on eBay. Some interesting stuff in one. In the other-wheat pennies. A 1943 they advertised so I know this was searched. The first had three Indian head pennies and I figured their value made at least half the cost. The other I felt a bit cheated. But I bought them more for the fun of seeing what’s in them. But I avoid “estate” stuff. A good thing: check eBay feedback and especially any negative feedback. The same complaints will give you an idea what you can expect.
About a couple years ago when I first started collecting coins I asked you. To help me with the coins because I was just starting. Your answer was. I heard that before. Thank you sir for your help
1st strike means struck within the first month of release which means nothing. The dye for ase's are replaced now and then so I just look at detail, most are probably 69 anyway from the mint .In the old days friends of the director would get first strikes , maybe the first 100 , those were real first strikes ,probably still happens today. These slabs could be 100,000 or more and I have never bought them . But I think you're right as usual not to "invest" in these things .keep it up ,enjoy hearing what you have to say.
I really appreciate your advice I am a disabled veteran also just happen to be terminally ill. I don't know much about collecting and sure don't have the money to be ripped off. I am collecting for two reasons well actually three. Reason one I get lots of fun and joy out of it as I am sure most of us stackers do number two I honestly believe we will soon see the dollar become useless have zero value and we the people suffer is great poverty those of us with at least some precious metals will at least have some bater power and last but not least I want to leave my daughter and grandchildren something besides paper money maybe I can influence them to become stackers with me I am putting together a small collection for each of them in hopes they join me what a bunch of fun could we have collecting as a family huh. I would love to contact this channel owner and do some business with you soon!!

Littleton and govmint...... corporations like that give coin collectors a bad name and it really does turn people away from the hobby
They're outrageous. Its trash.

Thanx for the videos !
Very sad and glad it was stopped.
Thank you so much for showing this video. I've seen people taken to the mill from some companies promising the world and only giving them the village. Your videos are so informative I encourage alot of people I know to watch them. You have a wonderful day and as always, Enjoy. CI
Thank you and you're welcome!
Glad I stumbled onto your blog, your video's are very educational. You are doing a great service to the Coin Collecting community and I want to Thank You for your knowledge.
good info.. for the new and seasoned collector.thanks for sharing
Thanks Daniel you do a great service to the numismatic industry God bless have a nice weekend my friend
Great video. I wish you made this about 5 years ago. You could have saved my a small fortune.
These are the best videos on learning about coin collecting and investment. Great info!
Yeah, those “grab bags” are a scam. I bought a few rolls of pennies once. Never again! Every one of them were so smooth, that you couldn’t even see the dates.
Yes they are
I laugh at the guys trying to sell coins on one of those off channels especially when they put " you have only so many minutes" that screams scam to me. Like I say I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday.
I dont buy coins unless I actually see them and hold them in my hand. I have only 2 dealers that I go to. I'm sharing this on Facebook.
Yep!
I bought 2. Coins and they were in worse shape/grade than the roll of cull/AG.
Wont buy single coins unless I see them!
I buy from a local coin shop I often even get discounts
Your the man on info on coins and yes it does help me a lot. If I wasn't so far from your coin store I woild be be there everyday buying coins from you. You should have a. Online store on your coins in the shop. I know it would be a nightmare in keeping up, just choose coins or what people are looking for. Great videos thanks again as always.
Thanks! Our online store is www.portsmouthcoinshop.com
I just stack ASE circulated . US junk silver . I also do coin roll hunting half dollar and quarter boxes! These coins are way over priced on tv. Good video!👍
It is good to see someone tell others the truth. Thx
You're welcome
Before you Buy , watch this video Great information for anyone out there buying to add to there hobby / collection. Thank you
Thank you!
Fabulous information Daniel thanks for the excellent information on your channel!!
Noted in my will.
sir what you are saying is 246% true. i dont collect anything modern except silver eagles. loved the video and your content
Thank you
This is quickly becoming my go to coin channel.
Thank you
I am not a Numismatist. I only buy Gold and Silver coins from reputable dealer. I do get some limited edition coloured coins for my grandchildren, but only if I like them.
Thank you Daniel you always give great advice. I was wondering about some of that stuff that people were trying to sell on eBay
Thanks
Thanks for sharing all this knowledge.
i agree 100%. well stated. thanks for your advice. great video as usual. we have to go back to basic coin collecting.
I've learned more about coin collecting from Daniel Malone on his show in a couple of hours than I've learned from any other source over many years.
I agree
This is exactly what I needed to hear.
Absolutely love your videos! No doubt about it this guy's the best on coin vidioes on UA-cam! Thanks for what you do!
Thank you
Wow thanks for another good vedio.Didnt realize about these gold plated coins like the quarters etc that they aren't really worth more.U saved me again on not what to buy thanks again.
Thank you for this Valuable information it’s hard to trust people these days
Yea ive seen adds saying they took a cross country trip buying unsearched wheats and estate lots.I couldnt imagine me being a coin junkie and having them, without searching .I'd be searching some asap.
Exactly
I love your advice please keep up the good expose work. I am sure a lot of people are shocked. I collected for 40 years and got duped more than once.
Thanks
I got hit on a "Binion Horde" silver dollar several years ago.....managed to get out of it later with minimum loss...
I just saw exactly what you're talking about by looking at the U.S. mint just this morning...
😎
Thank You!

You're advice is a great help. I have one of my Autistic sons into collecting with me, and this advice helps. I just subbed, and me and him will watch them.
Thank you!
I tried to get my retarded brother into coins... he wasn’t interested.
Thanks for your honesty. We need more people like you in this world. I've learned something valuable today. As for myself, I will invest in a good metal detector and follow your advise on selling!
You're welcome
Great video, Daniel. I really wish everyone had a good local coin shop to go to like I do 😊
Thanks you. Glad to have you as a customer and a friend.
The thing with plated US coins... the planchets are plated before being struck. HUGE difference.
Definitely love how you tell things straight up! Thanks!
Thanks
I use the PCGS App on my phone to check current auctions prices. I've purchased a couple of those 'Estate Lots', got some decent finds out of it (nothing to write home about, of course). But now, I'l check the App before agreeing to any 'sale' price on coins.
I do the same thing. I was watching a show the other night and they were selling some pre-33 gold for wayyyy more than the actual value.
Thanks again Daniel , agreed on slabs n 1st strike , I buy raw eagles n just as nice as some slabs I have seen , my great nephews n cpl friends now watching your videos n learning , thank you bud
Thank you for this ℹ️ I have been waiting for someone to tell me the truth and thank you 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the great clip on marketing of coins.
Great video as always and advice I give anyone starting out in coin collecting
Thank you
Excellent job , I enjoy you integrity , honestly, genius, but most of all your information is spot on. Thank you so very much. You’re saved my ass a few times.
Thanks and great to hear
thanks for being truthful to a new coin person. Joe looking forward to watching your descriptive fact videos.
Outstanding video my friend ! That's a lot of good information! Have a great day Sir !
my adviice , for new collectors, is simply dont buy expensive high ticket items....you can buy siilver coins for example for just a few bucks if you know where to look, and alot of coins, really neat ones that go for only five, ten , maybe 15 bucks,,... just start modestly....and as you learn what your doing...you can buy higher ticket items....and the reason i suggest silver, is becuase you can at least fall back on the silver content of the coin....so you know it has at least some value...anyways ....thats just my two cents..(pre 1982 cents) gl!
Thanks for the video! I fully agree with all of it.
Avod the impulse to buy before investigating. Time is money, and disappointment is forgotten sooner than is regret!
I don't answer like that unless you claimed to be different than everyone else who claims they have an extremely rare coin.
Thankyou mr Daniel, that's what people needs to know, I had so many arguments about this subject and I'm glad you sed it Thankyou berry much.
Me too and thanks
