“When I buy coins they have to be special” - Professional Numismatist’s PERSONAL COLLECTION
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- When you see as many coins as my friend Russ, The Millennial Numismatist, sees on a daily basis, you can afford to be choosy. His collection is comprised of only the best and each coin has a story too. What does Russ collect? You’ll just have to watch and see. We’d both be curious to know your thoughts. Special THANKS to Russ for showing us these coins and the history and pedigree that goes with each one.

What an awesome collection to see, wow! I'm so glad Russ bought in his collection because some of those are coins you just do not see anywhere else.
He’s a superstar in the world of numismatics. I’m happy to call him a friend.
Good to see another dealer take pride in the condition of their slabs.
Agreed.
Hi, T. Russ has some nice coins there. You picked up some nice ones, too. Love the Libertads.
Thanks 👍. Hope you had a nice Christmas!
Good luck to Russ with that type set. I'll be headed down to HJ Berk sometime this year, and i can't wait. It's like a high end museum with price tags.
Agreed! Tell ‘em T sent ya!
I like your style, just a few gems to look at and admire.
Thanks!
I will be in Chicago this week and plan to stop in and see Russ.
You’re gonna love it, if Mike is there he’s gonna roll out the red carpet, I’ve met Russ a few times usually very busy guy for sure. Mike is a gem
Russ and Mike are the best. Tell ‘em T sent ya!
@@TtheSilverStacker I did and because of this channel is why I went. Parking is okay but well worth it
Awesome coins! Thanks for sharing gentlemen!🎉
Our pleasure!
Really enjoyed seeing Russ's Core Collection ! Awesome coins.
If you are in the coin business every single day, it´s obvious that you are looking for the more special stuff for your personal collection. Great decision to collect Seated Liberty stuff. Where did Russ leave his holster, by the way ?! 😅 Greets from GER, U.
Ha ha! He doesn’t wear that anymore.
Russ, I am surprised that PCGS didn’t recognize the 1861-0 as minted by the state of Louisiana on the label.
I was thinking the same. I know NGC makes that designation with the 1861 Os that came from the USS Republic shipwreck, but I'm not sure about the regular varieties?
Or give the pedigree for Mehl.
T, it’s your Kentucky friend Brian. Just watched your video. Yesterday I bought in 1877 S. PCGS extra fine 45 I will let go for a thousand. Thank you have a wonderful weekend.
Sweet collection! I am definitely envious of any coin dealer, but those at Harlon J must really get some great opportunities. You go Russ, hope to get a chance to see your collection in another 20 years.
I hope so too!
T, I got a chance to sit down and talk to Russ and Aaron a few weeks ago at the Tinley Park coin show they're definitely a couple of very personable guys.
I had such an interesting conversation, they're so easy to talk to a real wealth of knowledge and information.
Yes. Awesome dudes!
I’m glad he chose wisely and didn’t dip the CSA 1861-O 50 cent piece. Originality wins.
Same
Completely agree with his "hole filler" take. I'm in the process of selling some hole fillers myself.
Ok...the Grey Poupon thing was brilliant!
Ha ha! Thanks!
I have a nice bust capp half dollar set im trying to complete. Once ive seen her i fell in love😅
Nice!
Well, both my Lambos are in the shop, and i hate that. 🙄
If I had to pick my top 5 favorite coins of my collection, they wouldn't be a set like this. A set like this is probably more valuable but my set would be all random based on eye appeal and rarity. Mostly because I'm not rich. lol. But if I remember correctly it was in one of your videos where I saw a really really nice Barber with some blue toning. If I was able to add that coin to my collection it would be my top favorite. Would your top 5 be a set like this guys or would yours be random also?
I was a quantity guy in high school!😂Not really, but, with couns... definitely I'm a quality guy!! 😂😠👍
Yes . I woulda dipped that 61 O
Very nice
Glad you enjoyed it!
The tru definition of a coin snobb but a obvious baller good for you boss man not hating fyi
Right on.
OK, I'll ask, what is a "dipped" coin?
Clean/ Brighten
Literally dipped in a chemical solution to clean the coin. I would NOT recommend doing this.
@TtheSilverStacker why did the guy at the coin shop, sorry I don't remember his name, say if he dipped it then it would have gotten a higher grade? I thought if it's cleaned the grading companies won't grade a cleaned coin.
@t_money3 dipping is an acceptable process in the industry. Done correctly by a professional it's conservation.
Nothing wrong with a quick acetone dip.
Most coin dealers are not collectors
That’s been my experience.
1st this time
Welcome!
Yes, he is correct when he’s in that position he don’t need fillers. 👍
