They do actually make a beep beep sound. I was surprised when I first saw a roadrunner and heard this. And they do run along the road. The cartoons were pretty accurate.
It does! My brother collected those for a whole year so he could get even with the mean mail lady at our next stay at grandparents house (the mail lady drove up onto the curb just to run over his skateboard). Anyway, he had all of the bags of them in his duffle bag on the floor by the bed we both shared over there. That night at 3AM i got up to pee, tripped, and landed on his bag full of pop-its (probably fifty bags)! It was so loud and no matter how i rolled, i couldn't get up without popping a whole new barrage of them. Finally, there was silence, and then, out of the pitch black ether came my brothers hysterical laughter. I thought for sure he was going to yell at me, but we laughed for the next hour. The conversation with our grandparents at breakfast was interesting 😂
I think the amount of time they spend around humans and cars and everything else has made them pretty hard to frighten with just a snappy beak, especially when they have a feast in front of them.
Didn't know roadrunners also lived in Butte county when i saw one run from one side of the road to the other while I was driving my 64 Rambler in Butte creek canyon . I'll probably never see one again .
protein is protein! actually, there are very very few true obligate herbivores. rabbits will scavenge carcasses. deer and horses and cows eat eggs and pluck baby birds right out of the nest to eat. its a nice little energy boost full of lots of good stuff!
I don't know, I think the roadrunner was a touch more afraid of the squirrel than the squirrel was of it..... Or perhaps, was more shocked than it should have been at the squirrel's audacity 🤣🤣
i disagree. i think life would be better for us if birds became the dominant species first and instead of being intelligent primates we were intelligent songbirds
You were expecting "Beep-Beep?"
I was hopeful!
😂
Nah, but I'm shocked the food bowl wasn't just painted on the ground.
@@MrPortajohn LOL!

The sound it makes with its beaks sounds like those pop pop snappers kids play during lunar new year
I think it also sounds a bit like those round oval 2 magnets which you can let snap together

Squirrels are some of the most stubborn creatures on earth

Next to women....
@@rick3747 You misspelled "men".
Ah, so that's how they do it. I've always called it the "taser noise".
These birds can run straight up a tree. They are also bigger than one might think. Beautiful and intriguing.
Thank you so amazing 😻 I wasn't expecting that sound
underrated road runner
that is a heck of a sound - was expecting the multiple clacks...
Squirrel: It's Willy, not Wiley. Don't hurt me.
“This food from hooman is mine”
Meep! Meep!
That squirrel could care less. ...... there was food involved.....lol!!!

Is that squirrel eating mealworms?
squirrels are known to be omnivorous, they occasionally eat stuff like insects, eggs and even baby birds

Which part of the word "meal" don't you understand? :D
That is quite a snap!
If that bird would just chill out they could both have lunch together
The squirrel didn't know that roadrunner eat squirrel for lunches!
Squirrel was ready to share
"So you are Acme's latest device to rob me, eh?"
Beautiful creatures

Sounds like an electric fence or cattle prod... hence squirrel jumps
If the squirrel only had an ACME anvil
I'm a bit surprised that the roadrunner didn't take a poke at the squirrel.

I love this!
Ground squirrels are chipmunks.

And…?!? 🙄 what’s your point Mr. Bird??
Ummmhmmm…that’s what I thought!!!”
Get over yourself Mr. Bird!!! 😂🙌🏼✌🏻
I didn’t know they could speak type writer
That thing looks nothing like the cartoon lol
