Fender American Ultra Jazz V(deep dive review)

- I haven't done any bass gear reviews lately as I am busy doing my repairs at the shop. Grateful for the opportunity to have this #fenderultrajazz at the shop and special thanks to Erwin for entrusting his bass here at Sincopado Luthier Services.
The sound clips are some excerpts from my Facebook live stream. Signal path would be Bass-Focusrite Solo-OBS-Facebook live. The only one recorded via Logic Pro is my cover piece at the end of the video. The Hx Stomp was not used for this video as I only got it recently so what you hear is what you get.
This is my deep dive review for the flagship bass of Fender. As always please do like and subscribe as this allows me to continue to present more bass related content here. Video is shot with the #iphone12 and edited via Final Cut Pro.

I find that these pickups are very natural and organic and ultra responsive. Just how I hear them
I bought one and returned it. 5 string in arctic white. Absolutely beautiful bass, but I think that it was the electronics/pickups that didn't work for me. That being said, I am thinking about picking up a used one and throwing in a pair of SD Apollo pickups and wiring it passive, because the thing was SO beautiful and nice to play.
If this was my bass, I'll throw in some sadowsky preamp and end of story ;)
Ive also purchased an ultra and had the same issues.. I’ve replaced it 3x and finally got the perfect one.. good thing musicians friends replaced it with no cost out of pocket

Good review, man! I'm blessed to not have that G string problem straight out of the box. I have a ultra 5 mochaburst and put a brown pearloid pickguard on it. Great match with the color! Put some Ernie Ball cobalt strings on it, too. Best strings in my opinion because of the clarity and also less squeaky than many other strings.
Where can I get a black perloid pick gaurd? A good friend just bought a sunburst with a white pickgaurd...

Hello Adrian. I really like the videos you make about the bass. I want to buy a Fender American Ultra Bass like the one you showed in the video. What difference do you find between the American Elite and the Fender American Ultra Bass. I will wait for your comments. Thanks.
I haven’t really tried an elite but if I can remember some main difference between the two, that would be just the trusrod adjustor wheel on the elite. Also a new “voiced” preamp on the ultra and new generation of noiseless pickups.
Elite have more for bass ,less in middle sound pick up , string can pass through body , maybe more weight
Kool looking bass. Expensive and Fender still has issues with bridges on their higher end basses. This is the reason I stepped away from Fender. I'll stick with Sire basses. Less expensive and do everything Fender can do, without tweaking the bass to get it right. At over $2000 US. It should be damn near perfect all around.

Hey Adrian, I’m thinking about getting an Ultra V. Do they all come with this bridge you’re talking about?
Well you need to check it out before purchasing it. I mean hold and check it personally. Not sure if all comes with the wrong bridge but this unit did
Are you sure it has an ash body? Because some sources of information indicate that the Ultra Jazz Bass V in red burst has an alder body.

@@m.s.8489 google the particular finish “fender ultra bass v plasma burst”…it’s an ash body
Various sites indicate that there is alder. As I understand it, this bass in the color Plasma Red Burst offers two options for the body material: alder and ash. Right?
Does anyone know How to purchase this Specific Ultra in Cherry Burst , for some odd reason i cant seem to find any in Stock !

@@Thiscopower I have a mochaburst ultra 5. Best basses have that low B! I have a GK 800w 2×12 combo amp 💪. Many 10" speakers distort on the low B.

What replacement bridge did you buy to get the 18mm string spacing? My ultra 5 has the same issue of bad string spacing

Adrian: you mentioned about spacer for realigning the bridge and solve the G string aligment isue. Could you share what are those spacers? Where to buy them?
Ummmm watch again….I did not use a spacer but I changed the whole bridge. Thanks for the support 🙏
