The American Ultra Jazz Bass features a unique “Modern D” neck profile for hours of playing comfort, and the tapered neck heel allows easy access to the highest register. A speedy 10”-14” compound-radius fingerboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets means effortless action, while the Ultra Noiseless Vintage pickups and redesigned preamp provide endless tonal possibilities - without hum. The sculpted rear body contours are as beautiful as they are functional.

The ultra is the best bass fender have brought out in a long time. I know they bring out different basses every few years but this time they have done something really special
Me to i have the Pj Ultra in Mocha Sunburst and Maple neck, really wonderful
Thanks to ANTHONY PECORA for providing I've gotta say the best down to earth no bullsh*t and comprehensive reviews (the Ultra P as well) .. many reviewers could take a few leaves from your book! :)
Fender American Ultra series basses has a clean and good tone.
that tone❤
Good comprehensive video,I have both the Ultra and the Elite. Have you done a review with the Elite?
Incredible instruments!
Havent even heard of the bass until this video! Must be really really new. Amazing demo. If possible, you guys should do a demo of the flea active jazz bass
Sounds great - even passive tone up! Great demo
Anthony, please Demo the 5 string version! Thanks!!
Hey Anthony,
This is my second bass, what I bought by your videos, because I really enjoying your videos.
Amazing bass, we are on the same page . 😊
This bass is soooo powerful!!!
I can recommend it without question.
Best Regards from Budapest, Hungary

That's awesome... happy to help! Thanks for watching - Anthony
Good demo and explanation
Thanks for watching. Anthony can help you get a great deal! Please call us at 412-343-5299 for info.
Great review! Those spending $2g's need a lot of info. If I was still looking at this bass, you answered all of the questions I would've asked. I'll sub for the review style. Peace.
did you end up buying it
@@jedgreen3225 I wrote that "if" I was looking. I'm encouraging bass discussion because he's good at it. I listen to him talk about all of the basses. Thanks.
@@Gerry926 did you end up buying it?
I got an Atelier Z M265. I keep my eye on the classifieds for a deal, one day. Alder/ maple 5 string.
@@Gerry926 Oh, nice choice! I've got my eye on a Stingray Special, but I keep ending up back at the American Ultra Jazz review. LOL
I see fender have lost the truss-rod wheel adjustment, i think i prefer the older string through bridge to the latest badass style and just to be picky, could be the lights, but look at the colour of the headstock....
The old EBMM truss rod wheel was great but not as good as the EBMM. Having wood on either side made for lesser adjustments. As for the old bridge, the crowd won't notice if it's through body or not. I'd rather have more mass at the bridge and secured saddles as opposed to through the body. I get what your saying dude, but, if you play it and love it, don't let those piddly details be a deal breaker for you.
whats he big worry about truss rods? ive been buying and playing Fender Bases since 1968, never had to ajust one
yet
this was great and i think with a new line there needs to be lots of talking. appreciate it
Good job on this demo. Like front pickup heavy roll. Them bridge roll. Nice passive vanilla
Rosewood much more consistent! Nice demo.
Thanks for the video, there are not much content about this model as I'd like to.
Wondering why they
Changed the truss rod adjuster ? And if the actual rod is different. Sounds great nice playing as always. Like the high mass bridge and Rose wood board. Hope the weight of these has come down. Some of the elites were on the heavy side.
Great information
I wish I could play like that. Good review
Practice, practice, practice.... :)
PRACTICE!
which one is better? Vintage II or Ultra?
And if I only know what it sounds like with rotosound 77
There is a buzz. Is that because of new strings?
Yeah, more than likely. Or my surely "flawless" technique.. lol. Let's say it's the strings! Thanks for watching - Anthony
It is normal have noise when touches the pickup?
Hey Anthony, Great review as always; You always give us Bassist/players all the details good and bad - or not so good 😄, and we all (I'm sure) Appreciate that, So Thank You. By the way; Did you ever get a chance to actually A/B the Ultra pickups with the Elite pickups? I Dying to know which of the two you honestly prefer over the other, Thanks again Bro', 👊🏾
Nice job man .
Fender have ignored left-handed players with no lefty Ultra options.
Craig Thomson I know. They limit the options for lefty’s.
there are Lefty Ultra Jazz and P-Bass at Sweetwater
Can you roll off the tone on the P-bass pickup while it's in passive mode?
Yes.
Which Ultra Jazz model has ash body?
Is that a Rumble 100 or 40?
Does it feel like good quality up there with Music man ?
are you based in canada?
The USA. We can ship worldwide. Please email me at joe@empiremusiconline.com for info.
I wonder how much lbs does ultra jazz bass weigh.
Thanks for watching our video! Ours weighs 9.4 lbs. These have two batteries in them, so they will have some weight. Please call us at 412-343-5299 for more information.
Thanks! How about for the weight of the 5 string?
Can I make a request for you guys to do the fender Nate Mendel signature p bass
Im hearing a lot of fret buzz. Why is that?
I noticed that too. Thought I was the only one who noticed?
@@chrisbarden2276 some people like fret buzz. I hate it though. Either the action is too low, or like many fender basses, its just not that great. We all arent geddy lee and cant have them custom made for us lol
@@trenken action and and the way he plays it. I have this bass and it doesn’t buzz like that.
Geddys main bass is not a custom,it's a 72 Jazz.
@@williambradley8004 yes its a 72 jazz in name, but as geddy said in his book, it has been completely customized for him. Nothing on it is original except the body which has also had work done to it.
Don't like the tailpieces tho.. Big pain in the ass to have to unthread a used string.. I much prefer a slotted hook in system anyday!
Ebony to rosewood, trust rod adjust under pick guard not up grades all down grades
Is non string thru upgrade from string thru body?
It's a very personal preference thing. It doesn't seem like a lack of sustain due to the Hi-Mass bridge. Surely there will be varying opinions on this. We certainly did not a lack of performance. Thanks for watching!
I am one of those folks who prefers low mass, bent metal, vintage-style bridges. For me, I find that the extra stress on the strings from string through does not yield any tone benefits. I also like that a low mass bridge reduces weight. The types of music I play don’t typically require a lot of sustain, which is the purported benefit of string through, high mass bridges.
Nice bass except for the active electronics, no thanks. Ill stick with my American Original 70s
"Traditional Jazz", a bird unknown to most... your playing will suffice.
GROWL
That has got to be the fattest jazz bass I've ever heard!!
Thanks for watching! Check us out at empiremusiconline.com
Yep. Damn!! Fender went all BBW with that baby!!
Itz obese man
A jazz bass that I actually like the sound of! I was always partial to the PJ Jazz basses.
That headstock is ultra ugly
The headstock is "Ultra ugly" in what regard? The yellow tint? Gloss finish? Just curious what you would have rather seen.
It's pretty! :D
@@RoadKing-ky2bs the vintage tint is beautiful
@@robertrosejr1 agreed
@@RoadKing-ky2bs a lot of fender enthusiasts love when they tap into the 60s and 70s looks. The yellower headstock is one of them. Lots of people love that look.
