    Here's a fun little video where I unbox & review a new Gard Bag from their Elite Series and almost never directly address the camera...Oops😅

Then I thought, "Sam, don't be silly. Your horns fit in there fine! Tight is better than flopping around, right?" so I re-organized the foam until I found a good setup for my particular horns, and then re-uploaded this video, albeit with slightly better editing & some groovy, vibey lofi goodness in the background (which I did NOT WRITE! I literally just searched "Royalty-free chill lofi music" and put the first result in the background of this video. So, if you DID write this absolute slap of a tune, let me know so I can credit you!)

    Hey! Would you recommend this case if you want to take a trumpet and flugelhorn stand with you? I personally keep those in the bells of my respective instruments but for this case I would have to take that padding inside the bells out. Would the case still be protecting my instruments well?

      Hey there! I would recommend not taking the bell cones out of the case, just because those are really what keep the instrument suspended inside the case. You could check out Hercules stands, those break down pretty well and store nicely in the outer pouch. If you’d like, I can make an update video on how I pack the case for gigs/sessions, etc. & dive into the case’s storage capacity! Appreciate the comment :) have a great day!

    I have been looking into these cases for the past few days. I'm in college and I have a torpedo case for my trumpet and a really old flugelhorn with the original, bulky, case. With my torpedo, I have the mute bag on it and it is pretty heave and my flugel case is also pretty heavy. Does this case cut down the weight of carrying two horns? Awesome video! It helped me a lot. Also, if you don't mind me asking, where did you order yours from?

      Hey Josh! Sorry for the late reply- I think this would be a good fit for your needs. You might still need something separate to carry all your mutes, but I’ve loved having both horns in one case. Being able to throw the case on my back has made for some super quick and easy gig load-outs. Appreciate the kind words! Hope this helps you, man :)

    Hi,
    Thank you so much for your video !
    Is the Gard bag is hard and shock resistant enough ? Do you feel your instruments safe in it ?

    • @Sam_Merrill
      @Sam_Merrill  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Remi! I definitely feel like this bag is safe and strong enough for day-to-day travel. The padding in the bag is very thick and dense, and the horns fit pretty snugly in there, so I think you'd be fine with this case. I wouldn't recommend checking it if you're planning on flying with your horns, but it should conform to carry-on requirements and be super easy to travel with that way :) Hope this helps!!

      S.W. Merrill Music thank you very much for your fast answer !! I will probably order this case for my trumpet and flugelhorn.

    Do you think this case would fit a large flugelhorn and trumpet?

    • @Sam_Merrill
      @Sam_Merrill  3 роки тому +1

      I'd say so- my Yamaha 8315G fits in there fine, and it's definitely not "small" as flugels go haha.

      S.W. Merrill Music thank you so much! I have a kanstul 1525 which not only has a big bell, but also is quite wide and tall.

    Great review! Have you tried putting your A4 in it? I got one and I'm wondering if it'll fit with that giant bell!

    • @Sam_Merrill
      @Sam_Merrill  2 роки тому +1

      Hey thanks!! Appreciate the kind words :) My Adams fits in here just fine, but the A4LT has a 5” bell, not 5.5” like on the regular A4.

      @@firefallindustries1332 tough to say. It may be tight, but I really wouldn't be able to tell you without seeing it. Trent Austin would probably be able to give you an answer! He's an Adams & Gard dealer. Reach out to him! :)

    Hello, thanks for the video, I would like to know if you have taken that case on a plane and if you have had a problem because of the size of the case? And another question, what flexibility exercises do you do at the beginning and if you could please share them, thanks.

      I believe that was from one of the Scott Belck lip flexibility books
