Thank you, I am glad to hear you have found these videos helpful. Stationeers used to be a lot easier on new players. It seems they are trying to make the game more punishing :) Let me know if you have any questions, and I will try to answer them in my videos.

The Var On my batch writer won’t show vertical .. just shows force something or other … not sure what I did wrong

It sounds like the batch writer is not set to output to the solar panels. Please double check this.

      I double checked that … 10000 times …

Query: What happens if you looped data and power together and just went with heavy cable? Would this option work?

Hi, that is a great question, and the short answer is yes. However, the output of the batch writer is the only thing that should connect to this. You only need to upgrade the cable to a heavy cable if the power output has the potential to exceed 5,000 watts.
      Long answer/Explanation:
The issue is not the cable but power loops with a battery.
When a battery is looped, it can provide unlimited power and accept an unlimited amount, exceeding even the heavy cable's wattage. Therefore, the only time you need to upgrade to heavy cable is when the power output could exceed 5,000 Watts.
The batch writer's data output could be connected to the same data/power circuit as your solar panels, provided there is no cable connection to your APC or the battery. This would cause a battery loop.
This is easy to achieve with the power setup I built in this video. The output from the batch writer is isolated from the rest of the tracking circuit and the cable that provides power to the batch writer from the APC.
If you have any more questions, let me know. I am considering making a more in-depth video on this.

I am happy to help, but I need some information first. Please answer the following questions:
Is your daylight sensor on an eastern-facing wall or a western-facing wall?
Are you using a Solar panel with separate Data and Power connections?
Which direction is the power output of your solar panel facing (North, East, South, or West)?

Just a suggestion, try 90 FOV. Makes watching video and playing sooo much better.

I think it makes it a bit less "realistic," but I will consider it if it improves the viewing experience. Thank you for the advice.

Solar panel keeps facing to the side after the first cycle.

Edit: I'm sorry; I had forgotten which setup I used in this video. My reply was for a more advanced setup and should be disregarded. The most likely culprit in this setup is that the daylight sensor is facing incorrectly. It should face east to read 0 degrees at sunrise, 90 degrees at midday, and 180 degrees at sunset.
I will need a bit more info in order to help you, assuming you haven't already resolved the issue. The most likely causes of issues with this setup is that the sensor is no pointed in the same direction as the power output of the solar panels or your [reader/writer] is not [reading/writing] the correct variable from the [sensor/panel].
