I was also lucky enough to spend a bit of time at her house in London in the early 80's. It was very easy to miss her teaching and just drink tea. And she loved Adi Da (Da Free John, Bubba Free John) and had little time for Osho (Rajneesh) for some reason.
However, in Sufism we say ""The roads to God are as many as human beings, as many as the breaths of the children of man." ... that does not contradict with believing in the messenger of God... for realizing wisdom on an individual level can be achieved in countless ways God only knows... But the prophet was sent for the whole world to realize the wisdom, the grace of God.
She is referring to the heart of any tradition and how it is unable to be referenced in accordance with any religion because it goes deeper, has always been, just as god has.
Also, the prophet himself said: "Wisdom is the lost property of the Believer", and he encouraged to seek it everywhere, whatever the source. In Sufism, prophet Mohammed is the first creation of the creator, God told him: "If it was not for you, I wouldn't have created the universe", and the prophet is called: "The Beloved" or Al-Habeeb. The soul of Souls.. the heart of hearts. He IS the love of God that took a form. "If it was not for love, I would not have created the universe", the same thing.
It's ALL just mind. What has been perceived as "God" is the mind in its most subtle state, free of all concepts. Beyond description. No "being". No self. Just the all pervasive, primordial expanse from which all things arise. It can be called God, Absolute Truth, Dharmakaya.... But it is not a being. It is a mental state. Enlightenment.
Well.... Sufism is very much older than Islam, when we consider the short human history... Yes .... and so is Islam ... Islam is much much older than the time prophet Mohammed was born on earth... Islam literary means surrendering to God ... it is an ancient wisdom ... and the human being who was born to spread this ancient wisdom -the grace of god- to all of humanity, is prophet Mohammed
Islamic Shariah and traditional Shariah cannot be referred to or identified as the identical ones. In Islamic Shariah the instructions are the means to bring an end to the dual nature of the corrupt understanding of the self about the universal consciousness. Actually, the instructions mentioned in the Islamic Shariah, is to bring an end to the present punishment (past sadness, future phobia and heaven mania). It is the practical action imposed on individuals to correct themselves by eradicating the dual consciousness. The country and cultural practices enumerated as Shariah law presently do not form the true Islamic Shariah. Human beings will not practice a religion if a religion claims that it has the irrevocable authority to punish its followers. The human nature will not accept it. How can one accept a supreme power that punishes his followers when it claims the supreme power is omnipotent (A), and omniscient (L)? If it is so how can it be cruel and mete out punishment to individuals for actions for which those individuals are not responsible? It says only it is existing. It also says nothing happens without his knowledge or command.
Just like Zarathushtra, Muhammad never claimed to found a religion, but to give the example and share the revelation of how to follow the path of all the other prophets did after the messages formerly received were corrupted to the point it was necessary for God to send another messenger. People who speak of their path as not having guidance are either being misleading or subtly admitting that their path isn't really the means for any real development.
Sufism originated in the Golden Age of Islam, from about the 9th to 10th centuries, after the Rashidun conquests and the resulting absorption of a wide range of mystic traditions from outside Arabia, especially in Persia. Sufism/tasawwuf origin began in Islam and it lineage leads back to the Prophet Muhammad. This is a fact in history. Please do your research. Only 20th cent Western Sufis say otherwise. Sorry!
Gratitude to the Masters of the Pathless Path 🙏❤❤❤🙏

Anyhow I love you Mrs. Irina Tweedie... I love reading your great words and listening to your wisdom... God bless your soul.

Maybe it was because of Osho’s approach towards sexuality.
I was lucky enough to meet tweedieji several times and have her darshan. Thank you for posting this
