The Bee Gees, Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb were born on the Isle of Mann in the UK, they then moved to Manchester in England and then Emigrated to Australia in 1958 when they when Barry was 12 and Robin and Maurice were 9. They became the Bee Gees in Australia, learned their craft in Australia and gained so much experience appearing at clubs, pubs and Australian tv. They wrote songs for local Australian artists as well. In 1967 they moved back to the UK as in those days (still do abit today), to become successful internationally they had to leave and work in either the UK or the USA. They chose the UK. They had hits and did well in the UK but after a slump in sales they then moved to Miami which kickstarted their superstardom. By the way I am an Aussie and have been a fan since I was 9 so around 1976.

I grew up listening to these three amazing singers, songwriters, performers. They were regulars on Australia's Bandstand, singing their own songs, but more often than not doing covers of the latest hits from the UK and the US...often better than the originals. They are the only ones Ive heard that can do any Beatles song at least as well and many times better than the Beatles themselves.
