Thanks for this. It makes sense. both of those sensors measure air the Baro measures outside pressure and the MAP (with the hose) measures manifold pressure. I took of my map because I had a baro code. I was confused and could not find the Baro sensor. This video helped me a lot.
I might be wrong because my 2004 had the same location but was held by a bracket. The barb on the switch goes to a hose that is connected to a unpleasant just under the AC compressor which is on the intake. It is supposed to read intake pressure not engine compartment pressure(which doesn’t mean anything). If it has a barb, it needs a hose.
Sorry to reply to this so late just saw it. Mine is an 04 LB seven California emissions truck originally it was originally on a mounting tab. It broke off.

Hey man, yes it was originally attached to a bracket it broke off.
What code were you getting??
Is this for a 2004.5 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Duramax LLY?

Sir yoir going to need some high pressure lines here soon.
Where is the barometric pressure sensor/map on a 2008 S80?
The one with the hose is the map sensor.
Where is the position exactly .
What was it doing??
Just throwing a code.
What year ?
Can't here what your saying talk louder

I recorded this at 6am when I got too my job site. Cut me some slack lol!
