I'm trying to fix and build my first gen at only 14. I love trucks. And ryan is teaching me alot about working by yourself so I dont get screwed or waste money.
Oh young mechanic right here I’m doing the same with my suv but my truck tht I had since like maybe 8-10 yrs old got into an accident it still getting work on by my grandfather who knows when I get back when he stops driving it
Lmao every video of him taken the front end apart I kept saying same thing why are the old shit dust guards on then I was like oh he’s getting new hubs maybe he’ll change them then now i see this and nope puts them back on all the paint work and new shit under there and he keeps those
Just got my 3x high vid yellow hoodie in the mail the other day, love it!! And I was really hoping you were still giving out them orange t shirts but expected they'd be gone by now... NOPE!! Bonus 3x orange t shirt I'm the package too!!!! That's fukkin awesome!! Thanks Soo much bud!!!
Build the 6.0 in the garage. There are a lot of things you can update on the motor plus powder coat on the engine. Be a good winter build while it’s getting body work and paint done.
yo ryan you should get one of those shop houses its a big metal building and the back upper half is an apartment size loft i think you would really enjoy something like that and they are a lot cheaper to build than a house
Have a new truck and did wheel/tires and a suspension lift. tires are toyo at3s. Around 60mph on normal (non-highway) roads bumps make my wheel vibrate fairly hard and if you let go of the wheel the truck tracks perfectly straight but the wheel bounces slightly back and forth. Is that just normal for putting big at tires and a stiffer suspension on?
I am the same bro ive never been one to pay someone to do work on my vehicles . Not because of the cost but more so cause i know what as been done and how its been done . ive always been a gear started with cars as a kid and grew into trucks as i got older ( and got in way to much trouble with cars lol ) . Its not as complicated as ppl may think it is or looks . Plus if your new to it trucks are a way easier route to go to work on for the first time diy person as theres plenty of space to work rather then being crammed up inside of a car . One of the absolute easiest things to get started on working on and learning with is suspension work . Very basic fundamentals and can be done with out requiring any specialty tools ( aside from ball joints ) . Its about ambition , love , and passion to get out and start doing it . Dnt be afraid to tear it apart as it all goes back the same way you took it off . Self taught in my opinion is so much better and more appreciative then ever going to a school and being told how to do something by a txt book . It really makes you love it more and respect the vehicle more knowing it taught you how to do something as well as take more pride in the vehicle itself knowing hey i did this . It also teaches you to respect the vehicle more then just paying someone to throw parts on it everytime it breaks . Keep it up !! Wish i had the time and money to be able to do a channel like yours to help others learn aswell as film my journey through my builds . ✊🏻
Yeah I do the same thing Ryan I’ve done pretty of hubs for me and my family and friends I’m 59 years old it’s so much satisfying to know that it’s done right . I’m very impressed with you and Katie too my daughter and I love too work on vehicles it’s fun . Great job
Why in the world wouldn’t you take a few extra minutes to powder or even rattle can the brake dust shield !?! You took the time to paint literally everything else up front and then just slapped and rusty crusty shield back on. Why!?!? Haha
I always use an air hammer with a blade style attachment to unseat hub unit bearings, it will vibrate the old hub off without any hammering, just put the blade right where the hub meets the dust shield or knuckle and it will pop loose so fast. Also good with a point attachment to push the cv axles out of the hub. Work smarter not harder.
I've learned alot especially confidence in just go donit yourself and I done my 01 ram entire front end and it took me 4 days BUT I can say I done it myself :) by wheel hub took quite a bit of time to do but then got a set of chisels from good ole harbor freight and it definetly made job easier......so thanks again Ryan for all the confidence and inspiration:)
I’ve learn more from you then I have from my school I’m young and I’ve done all the work to my truck myself (helps that I am an apprentice mechanic) but if a kid like me can do it anyone can do it
If you need ideas for a mounting system. Use black iron piping you can get it all at Home Depot and then you can powder coat it to match whatever color you want
I get you that way. To nice to run in highway ice melt. Its worst then salt. I avoid the highway all winter just for that. But ever consider a winter beater project from a small all wheel drive truck like trailblazer
Hang the marine speakers from the lid of the rear hatch. re enforce the lid with a couple bars of aluminum or steal behind the plastic for support, and spread them wide enough to give enough room for the lif to close around the rockville sub
dude, if you at all have the opportunity to get a shop you'd better jump on that shit ASAP. I myself would do it if I had the capital but I don't. just hella skill, a project truck even a well known UA-cam giveaway truck but no money to start up. you're in the perfect position man, DO IT!!!!!
Simply mount the speakers on the rear hatch facing down. When the hatch is open they will be pointing out. Also they will be out of the way when the hatch is o-en.
Square body project? Love those trucks. Im following the Ford build i got a 04 F250 love that build cant wait to see what's next! Keep up the good work guys👍
Even thought the last few things you’ve done haven’t been very cosmetic, the truck just looks better for some reason.. idk if it just needed some time to “settle” into its stance or what but it looks a lot better to me now than it did several weeks ago. It looks like a truck that was done right and you can beat it up and it will survive if that makes sense. The tires even look a little better to me now, I know that probably sounds crazy but I think just a little bit of wear gives them a more natural look, rounds the edges and just makes them look at home. Idk maybe I’m crazy but this truck looks different than it did a few weeks ago.
What about mounting the wet sounds where the spare tire goes?? Or is that just stupid?? I’ve been debating doing this on my tahoe! Curious as too your thoughts buddy!!
I have a question I have an 07 Silverado on a 9 inch Lift and recently have being feeling/hearing a ticking sound when I come to a complete stop or take off from a stop what could it be? Thanks in advance
go get a sand blast cabinet at harbor freight and put glass bead in it and clean those rusty parts up,, you ll thank yourself and it will look a hell of alot better
Put a s10 blazer together or a s10 for the winter alittle lift and some cheap like crager soft 8s and 33s on a 4 inch lift should be a good winter beater
Your kinda lucky normally you gotta beat the hell out of the hub to get it off , if your brake dust plate is that rested I’d suggest leaving it off or replacing it , will cause you issues down the road . Good luck brother love the build and vids , can’t wait to see what y’all do with the 6.0 holler at me if you need suggestions I am a mobile diesel mechanic, later brother
How about a side by side build... it’s different ... you enjoy riding your “quad” but a sxs would open more doors for riding trips camping etc... all seasons of the year... yea a lot of people are doing it but a lot of ppl are building sema rigs, drag cars jeeps etc too
I've not had good luck with moog hubs in my experience they didn't last 6 months I think that Tahoe will be really hard on hubs with the mega offset but it looks cool
I ain’t ever taken apart a vehicle’s front end but I’ve taken the front end of my forweelers front end apart multiple times and I’m 15 but keep up the awesome vids
Build a car like a r32 or Miata. You took over the truck game. Now do it to the car scene. I know you have the hellcat, but I’m thinking like wide body and engine build and going through everything.
Ryan I might be to late, but there is a house down the road from me with a 3 bay shop. I don’t know if you would want some thing like that but I thought I would just let you know.
hey Ryan that brake dust shield is so rusty. Why not sandblast and powder coat it?
My thoughts exactly all that nice new stuff then there’s those rotten dust shields haha they can’t be more then 20-40$ for new ones
Why didn't you powdercoat the brake dust shield when you had it out?
@@davidvianu2353 he doesn't cut corners bud
Petition to see a dually on the channel.
I'm trying to fix and build my first gen at only 14. I love trucks. And ryan is teaching me alot about working by yourself so I dont get screwed or waste money.
I’m doing the same thing with a 78 k10 Silverado I feel ya brotha. I’m only 14 years old
You can’t tho you have no money
Oh young mechanic right here I’m doing the same with my suv but my truck tht I had since like maybe 8-10 yrs old got into an accident it still getting work on by my grandfather who knows when I get back when he stops driving it
Chris Ruggieri parents?
@@chrisruggieri7345 yes I do it's called working maybe you should try it sometime
All that effort on the front end and you put the old rusty dust cover back on? Lol would have been so easy to prime and paint
Lmao I thought the same thing
Throw them in the trash!
Lmao every video of him taken the front end apart I kept saying same thing why are the old shit dust guards on then I was like oh he’s getting new hubs maybe he’ll change them then now i see this and nope puts them back on all the paint work and new shit under there and he keeps those
I have learned more from this man than my school. Also love the build
same
Same
same
Haha me too, very helpful
I would find a new school.
It bothers me he didn’t put new brake dust shields on!😅
lol no paint on them rusty brake dust shields 😨
Was recently in a utv accident and watching your videos brighten up my day
Just got my 3x high vid yellow hoodie in the mail the other day, love it!! And I was really hoping you were still giving out them orange t shirts but expected they'd be gone by now... NOPE!! Bonus 3x orange t shirt I'm the package too!!!! That's fukkin awesome!! Thanks Soo much bud!!!

Taboo I’m stealing this idea for my property in Colorado.
Check out Texas barndominioms on UA-cam if you want one. He's done some cool sh*t.

Your tires aren’t balanced
did you have your tires balanced when they where bought and mounted/private sale
Looks great the only thing it needs is drilled and slotted rotors

Love the build, but still wanting the boost auto tow mirrows and the exhaust, that would round out the exterior looks and possibly a roof rack
Did you just put those rotted out dust shield covers back on when
Why in the world wouldn’t you take a few extra minutes to powder or even rattle can the brake dust shield !?! You took the time to paint literally everything else up front and then just slapped and rusty crusty shield back on. Why!?!? Haha
Hack shit !!! Totally needs replace it’s rotted out
It's funny how he always says 'it's the little things' but I guess not 😅
I thought the same thing!
unreal...smh

Same I did my entire 1500s front end suspension cost me 300$ in parts and about 18 hours of work but saved me 2000+ dollars
I’ve learn more from you then I have from my school
I’m young and I’ve done all the work to my truck myself (helps that I am an apprentice mechanic) but if a kid like me can do it anyone can do it
This is BY FAR the sickest Tahoe build I’ve ever seen! Now it just needs an exhaust to be complete🔥
It’s ok Ryan that Tahoe is gonna be scrap metal at some point anyways. Use it what it’s for and enjoy it 🤙
watching while doing school work🤙 love the tahoe
Thank you for sharing all your builds with us 🇺🇸
Hey Ryan . Can u go into more detail on exactly how u Color matched your tow mirrors ? Like what I took apart and took off and how u did it
If you need ideas for a mounting system. Use black iron piping you can get it all at Home Depot and then you can powder coat it to match whatever color you want
Do a supermoto/motorcycle build over the winter.
Could you possibly mount the marine speaker bracket your wanting to build through the tie down points on the Tahoe in the cargo area
use some effing wheel chocks and jack stands! Jesus Man!
Good problem to have. Many people are limited to one vehicle. I think the Tahoe is a perfect winter ride.
I get you that way. To nice to run in highway ice melt. Its worst then salt. I avoid the highway all winter just for that. But ever consider a winter beater project from a small all wheel drive truck like trailblazer
Im liking this tahoe more n more every viseo! Great build bro! ✌❤😎
Hang the marine speakers from the lid of the rear hatch. re enforce the lid with a couple bars of aluminum or steal behind the plastic for support, and spread them wide enough to give enough room for the lif to close around the rockville sub
Can you put all the info for the lift kit you have ? I am getting ready to re do mine and I’m trying to find something similar to this lift kit ?
Late 90s early 2000s Jeep Cherokee / TJ Something you can mildly lift and do small mods on and still have something reliable for the winter
dude, if you at all have the opportunity to get a shop you'd better jump on that shit ASAP. I myself would do it if I had the capital but I don't. just hella skill, a project truck even a well known UA-cam giveaway truck but no money to start up. you're in the perfect position man, DO IT!!!!!
You should honestly diesel swap the Tahoe that would so sick!!!
Can’t wait for the audio system all finished up !!
Can I get a leveling kit on top of a 4 inch suspension lift to fit larger tires without changing anymore parts?
Damn that Tahoe turned out way to nice I need to get me a set of mud tires for my 90 Chevy Step Side nothing but mud around here.
Build a harley for the winter man! You don’t need a lot of space or a lot of money! Well money is always a plus haha! Love your videos man!
Even thought the last few things you’ve done haven’t been very cosmetic, the truck just looks better for some reason.. idk if it just needed some time to “settle” into its stance or what but it looks a lot better to me now than it did several weeks ago. Anybody have suggestions for cool wheels for a 2009 F-150?
Even though I'm on vacation in Mexico right now I still take time out to keep up on your videos.
Front end looks perfect and brand new... except for those rusted out brake dust shields.
You are a beast bro. Keep doing videos ive learned a lot from them videos nothing but love from northern California
Bro it looks sick.
What about mounting the wet sounds where the spare tire goes?? Or is that just stupid?? I’ve been debating doing this on my tahoe! Curious as too your thoughts buddy!!
The Tahoe looks great
I have a question I have an 07 Silverado on a 9 inch Lift and recently have being feeling/hearing a ticking sound when I come to a complete stop or take off from a stop what could it be? Thanks in advance
Build your KFX up or build a Can Am. Not sure how much mud riding goes on up there but I love my Renegade. Plus it would fit in the garage.
Good point man id rather be screwing then getting screwed at a shop
While you was in there I would have painted those dust plates looking rusty
go get a sand blast cabinet at harbor freight and put glass bead in it and clean those rusty parts up,, you ll thank yourself and it will look a hell of alot better
Put a s10 blazer together or a s10 for the winter alittle lift and some cheap like crager soft 8s and 33s on a 4 inch lift should be a good winter beater
I know my mom would love you have something like that Tahoe!!! That’s turned out so nice. 👍👍
I just went back an watched pretty much 9f the dodge lift vids again, love the vids
Recommend putting in a new head unit and bypassing the bose all-together
you should do a 2jz 1st gen toyota tacoma 4x4 that would be sick!!🤷🏻♂️
The tahoe looks great man!
😂 next video should be replacing AFM lifters with regular ones lol sounds like a good diy project....
what it you built a lime green and purple polaris rzr turbo to tow behind your truck at sema????
Your kinda lucky normally you gotta beat the hell out of the hub to get it off , if your brake dust plate is that rested I’d suggest leaving it off or replacing it , will cause you issues down the road . Good luck brother love the build and vids , can’t wait to see what y’all do with the 6.0 holler at me if you need suggestions I am a mobile diesel mechanic, later brother
I think ur gonna start a new trend with the Tahoe 😎👍 cant wait for a couple performance mods . Maybe start with banks pedal commander 🤞🏻
Dang dude...clean stuff up while you are in there. That back plate is crap. This ruck looks great just some OCD. Fix it all. No rush..
On his website, there is a section for tires...? Maybe the announcement?
Do a engine swap on the hoe thats different like a 4bt or a coyote or like a 8.1 ls thing?????
Put gears in the rearend to help with the tires
How about a side by side build... it’s different ... you enjoy riding your “quad” but a sxs would open more doors for riding trips camping etc... all seasons of the year... yea a lot of people are doing it but a lot of ppl are building sema rigs, drag cars jeeps etc too
I've not had good luck with moog hubs in my experience they didn't last 6 months I think that Tahoe will be really hard on hubs with the mega offset but it looks cool
I think you should put tow mirrors on this and powder coat them that dark cherry color
You and Katie should cummins swap that 6.0 ford. They sounds nice but are a money pit. Love the builds bro. Keep on keepin on.
Use the kicker LOC it won’t trip anything or make it sound bad
Thats a good looking tahoe. I plan on doing my suburban soon.
You should have put gear oil and grease in the dust cap for the hub
Great content Ryan 🤙💯
I ain’t ever taken apart a vehicle’s front end but I’ve taken the front end of my forweelers front end apart multiple times and I’m 15 but keep up the awesome vids
Ive had a 12” rockville sub and a rockville compacitor, they both blew ill never buy rockville, skar has not disapointed me yet
love the videos
Does your Tahoe struggle to get over 3k rpm unless u floor it? I lifted mine and it’s stays under 3k unless the pedal is to the floor
Yes and no 😂😂 if I need more juice I turn on tow haul!
Hey ryan is their a particular reason you drive with tow haul mode on the tahoe does it have to do anything with being lifted and more heavy?
A harness bar style mount would work for mounting those speakers
Build a car like a r32 or Miata. You took over the truck game. Now do it to the car scene. I know you have the hellcat, but I’m thinking like wide body and engine build and going through everything.
Don't know the budget for your bills but a show quality UTV would be cool. Or dually swab the ram
Love that thing so mutch!
Ryan lol is everything this easy for you your literally a one stop shop 😂😂💪🏼
Next project: lifted 4wd hellcat! 😲
Sweet ass tahoe.. need to sand down the dust sheilds an paint them
You get extra credit points for wearing cowboy boots with shorts, I do that shit all the time in the garage 👍
If ur afraid to mess something up fixing your vehicle buy the service manual. Has step by step instructions. It helped me.
Paint the dust shield or powder coat it?!?
Ryan I might be to late, but there is a house down the road from me with a 3 bay shop. I don’t know if you would want some thing like that but I thought I would just let you know.
I’d love to see a Chevy HHR engine build (I know weird )
good for you Ryan
Are you ever going to tint the windshield?
Seriously should have painted the dust shields.
Should’ve painted the dust covers or left them off!!
