We were lucky that no one got hurt with this generator installation ... but always prepared for the unexpected in our line of work! When things happen we work as a team to figure out our next best route. If you've been watching us for awhile you have seen us do some tough jobs!
At 14:08 on the video, with the holes not lining up correctly you should use Windex original and squirt the base of the Generator and the board itself with the Windex. The reason being this will allow the gen-set easier push/pull moments to align the holes properly and after the bolts are installed Windex will evaporate and dry within minuets. I learned this trick moving heavy object in small places from and HVAC guy trying to position a 600 LBS motor into its proper place. Great trick and inexpensive at that.
I always use a heavy duty flat cart and always strap it to the cart. Years ago I saw one slide right off the cart and into the drink going down the dock entrance ramp !!!😮😮😮
You know where that generator is mounted. I can't imagine the owner would ever check the oil or any other maintenance. That is the worst place that it could be mounted. That is why the old one seized.
@@WillFixThat I guess that I wasn't clear. IMHO, you should have custom fitted an "A" frame if it could have possibly been fitted. I have never seen an engine or generator or heavy batteries lowered by anything else. Still, the builder sure didn't cooperate!
Hurricane outages. Have had power outages for two weeks several times. A 7KW will run fans and freezer. Mobile, Alabama. I have 50 gallons of gas capacity. Ideal, nope, but it helps! I just couldn’t afford a permanent generator. In addition, one of the generator manufacturers wouldn’t or couldn’t support in a storm. So that’s why I paid 3x for Honda
We do say thank you, it just might not be put on camera. And we say yes sir and ma’am all the time with our guys! Heck I just handed out 2 gift cards yesterday to say thanks. How many have you given out?

I’ll give that a try. Thanks for watching. 🙏
My personal is Onan Cummins
We’ve worked on them plenty 🤗

Oh boy that would suck … don’t jinx us 🤣
Next time just de pin the connector very easy!! And better then splices and looks professional 💪🏼
Thanks for the tip! 👍
Glad everyone ok great video
Yup everyone was ok I thought it might be good to recap that part since it looked worse than it was lucky! 👍
You can push the pins out of a deutsch plug then push them back in to the plug after you run the wires. No need to cut the wires.
Awesome thanks …. Great point!
Thank you so much!! The microphone sounds great
Yes … lol researching the new rode mics right now.
lol we didn’t change anything yet …. The issue is/was that Brent put it to close to his throat 😂 needs to go more on the side.
Northern lights I think they are the best
Thanks Chris we would agree 👍
Great episode! Stay safe and keep rolling WFI team! 👍👍
Trying to keep the cameras rolling!
Did you like the explanation about what happened a few weeks ago with the generator and our guy falling?
@@WillFixThat yep very detailed. nice job! 👍👍
@@WillFixThat 👍👍
I heard that veteran humor with that hurt pretty little feelings 😂 and I'm happy that the generator was installed without any mishaps lol
These guys love to give each other a hard time but it makes it fun! 🤩
@WillFixThat and that is the best type of team to have right there

Unfortunately that’s how some of these boats are built. 🥴
I don't have a favorite but I do own a Westerbeke with a belt on the bottom, would love to meet the guy that thought that was a good design.
Exactly we’ve worked on them what a pain in the arse! Crazy what gets put in boats sometimes or even the designing of them! 🥴
"Gantries" are usually "A" frames. The feet are too small. "A" frames ensure stability and have small feet.
This was a build just to fit this boat!

I like the work you all do, but probably would have de pinned the connector and pulled the wire harness through.
Yes we could have done that … good point!
I own a 7KW Honda but is for home use.
What do you need a generator for … just curious?

@@wallacejeffery5786completely understand now … we also have a small portable in case of those same issues. At our office we have a big one!
👍👍
Thanks fatcat!
Longer feet on gantry
Yes sir. Thanks for watching.
Rarely do you say thanks or please to your staff.
