For anyone wanting to get more info on their elevated liver enzymes. Why are they high what to do etc. There will be live event this coming Thursday 4pm. Hope to see you there👍! This link will take you there. ua-cam.com/video/PuTBxEyv5U8/v-deo.html
I lost about 25 pounds in less than 2 months. My blood test is normal except my ATL was 76. Did a blood test yesterday and it was 62. I feel fine but my stomach rumbles a lot & my stool is clay color. I looked up the symptoms but I’m glad I lowered my ALT to 62 even though it’s still high. I have changed my diet
I currently have elevated liver function tests due to the medications I take for rheumatoid arthritis your video has very helpful information thank you so much
I’m a female, 55, post menopause with elevated liver enzymes, ferritin, and trans growth factor beta 1 over the last 12 months. My Vitamin D and Vitamin 12/ Folate have also ran low for years. I suffer with tinnitus for the past 3 years and significant loss hair reduction in density to where my scalp shows all over. I’ve also struggled with insomnia for over 30 years sleeping an average of 4 hrs a night. My dermatologist sent me to have my liver checked and said this needed to get corrected before any treatment started for my hair loss. Abdominal US showed severe infiltration of fatty liver with enlarged liver over 20 cm. Having a fibroscan this week so pending follow up for results. I was drinking a 1-2 glasses of wine several times/week. I stopped completely though for 6 weeks now and stopped eating red meat. I’m hoping these changes help heal my liver which I’ll soon find out.
Thank you so much for this very informative video. As a 63 yo stroke survivor…my sudden “sedentary” lifestyle has definitely taken its toll…. and my questionable dietary changes are suspect 😂. But am working closely with my PCP to address this. I’m definitely going to discuss adding Milk Thistle, etc… if need. Again your videos are great 👍
Thank you so much for your videos. I’ve really learned a lot. My LFT’s are mildly elevated and I’ve had an extensive work up done and every test done except a liver biopsy and it’s all negative and all normal. My ALT is usually around 70 and AST around 37. My doctors can’t find anything wrong with me. I’m not sure what to do.
Thank you for the explanation im 31 and got a 154 ALT never before have I gotten that bad. I do eat really bad since im a Police Officer always on the street buying what is fast and cheap. I have an ultrasound this thursday.
Very informative thank you very much. All my life i have had generally high levels of GGT (at least from when i was an adult and could read the results), but recently at 41 i have seen high AST 37 and high ALT 42. In another video you said elevated GGT was because of external toxins, but what about babies born with Jaundice? apparently i was yellow when i was born, and my mum has very yellow eyes which indicates jaundice. What is the relationship between GGT, AST and ALT all elevated at the same time?
Ggt and alkaline phosphates also connected with gall stone obstruction. When all three are elevated, usually more connected with something in the liver itself.
Really interesting. Many thanks for sharing. I saw a study cited on another UA-cam video strongly supporting that consumption of 40 grams of Wheat Germ daily for 6 weeks normalized liver enzymes and reduced liver deposits in participants with NAFLD. What are your thoughts on this? I have also come across info suggesting that Taurine and Berberine are effective in such cases and preventing long term liver damage
Lots of things can help to reduce liver en-but u want to find out why they are high and then this information what the best thing to do or take. Many cases are fatty liver and diet is the best for this. Good luck and thanks for sharing
Found your video.. Recently had my blood work done my ALT was 72. I am 42 years old, 3 months postpartum. Dont drink, don’t take medication. Try to eat a healthy organic diet could be better with fruits and vegetables. I am surprised it’s so high and not sure what to do next.
If you take many supplements, that can also elevate the liver enzyms. That is what happened to me. After taking two months break, alt came to normal range. Sometimes nothing works except giving a break to the liver. Fasting shuold be a great tool.
My ALT is 45 and AST is 32. I am 18 male. My triglycerides are 138. I know these elevated enzymes are due to fatty liver because i am overweight. i have done a diet for 3 weeks and cut out all sugar and carbs. Will my NAFLD and Insulin resistance be gone?
Quite strict actually. I am actually doing a keto diet. Now it's been 5 weeks. Once a week I eat outside, but the rest is very strict diet. It's a ketogenic diet. Just stuff like meat with vegetables with every single meal, nothing else. I have heard the fat from the liver leaves much more rapidly than other parts of the body. Will I make a full recovery from my metabolic dysfunction and NAFLD?
On the FB group there are so many people diagnosed with different stages of cirrhosis that say there enzymes are or have been in the normal range. How is this? Im petrified because my ALT is 2 points over range so don’t know if l should have a fibroscan or some futher testing.
I constantly have elevated liver enzymes since probably 1-2 years or so now. It's moderately high, in the 60s to 70s and I would never know I had it if it weren't for the medical studies I tried to get into. They do thorough tests on everything, and they constantly ask me for repeat blood tests and it's always slightly elevated. Even though I don't do any strenous exrecise at all, drink coffee or tea at all, or drink alcohol exessively. In fact, I drink very rarely. No daily beer after work or any jokes like that either. Yet constnatly high. Not sure why. But 3 years ago, when I came to the UK, I started drinking tea and I got acid reflux from it, that even now persists and I slightly gained weight, from 70 to 95 kilos, which is pushing it, but it's not like I am morbidly obese. So now I struggle to find the root cause for the issue. Is it the overweight? Potentially. But is losing weight the only way to get rid of the elevated liver symptoms? We shall see. What I am going to try from now on is drink green tea and try some of the recommended herbs. I normally don't believe in herbal medicine, but if there are no alternatives, I'll give it a shot. Also trying to lose weight, but that's difficult if you live a sedentary lifestyle and never find time for the gym because you work 12 hours a day... Would probably the best. Your video helped me understand the options very well, but I am not entirely sure which is the most effective herb presented, they seem work slightly different but I'd like to know which works best, if you can mix them together, and how individual the effect of the medication is
My Serum Gamma GT level is 248! Not sure why this is yet but I do take 40mg Atorvastatin and I did have a bad cold when I got my blood test. I have an appointment with my GP on 1 Nov so I may know more ethen hopefully.
Hi doctor. My ALT is 185. I'm a bodybuilder but I am on accutane. Is it because I exercise very regualry plus the accutane. My diet is perfect, I dont drink nor eat junk food. Thank you
If you have slightly elevated liver enzymes that indicate liver inflammation but they return to normal and your doctor says your liver is doing well does that mean you never had any liver problems? Can some people like that limit red meat and white bread fried chicken and quit or limit alcohol if their results go back to normal? Some doctors say once the enzymes return to normal that there probably is no underlying problem to be further investigated. Why is that?
I don’t know what your question(s) is/are.. If liver enzymes are normal only after changing the diet then likely they were high bc of the diet. However it could have just been a fluke that they were high. That’s why it’s information to test test test before you make too many changes.
@@swintegrative Im sorry if my question was confusing but if a doctor says your liver enzymes were slightly elevated and was a 57 said there was some mild liver inflammation but they didnt seem concerned they just suggested a change in diet does that mean a 57 is neutral if anything?
@@swintegrative Youre right but a lot of doctors would say its slightly higher. Why is that? And how come LFTs only show numbers for elevations instead of resulting the cause of liver elevated enzymes? Is it common for many healthy people to get 57? I've been told that 57 means temporary liver inflammation that goes away on its own if you abstain alcohol for 2 weeks and monitor your enzymes is that true? I always have heard 3 different stories on this and I find your videos are helpful.
Hi, I have a question about DHEA which seems you have good information about. I started to take 25mg dhea 10 month ago and now my dhea is little higher than the top range. I wonder if there is any risk for body to have constantly high dhea level with help of supplement or should I stop taking DHEA supplement. Thanks for your opinion!
I don't drink sodas. I was on Keto. But my enzymes began to climb now at 😅385. I eat avacado. Should I stop. I can't eat corn oil or crisco. It makes me hurt. I used to have RA. I'm 64. I don't know if it the Urinary Trac infection or where it came from. My gamma glutylmine are 180.. I don't know how to cleanse my liver.
I am 23 male and my ALT is 58, I have been a constant drinker for 3 years but have been sober for over a month now. Is this extremely high? In another video you stated over 50 is concerning. Doc said pancreas enzyme is elevated too.
Yes that's too high at your age, it should not be over 30, ideally, but liver enzymes are volatile often times, what you ate 24 to even 48 hours, or what kind of physical activity your doing up to 48 hours can play a role, (being outside in the cold weather shoveling snow for example is not good 12 hours prior) it can throw the results off,
This is 'mostly' true, but the supplements part is a tad antiquated. E.g. Milk Thistle isn't the liver Superman it's routinely touted as based on current and cumulative data. There are many emergent liver all-star supplements with more therapeutic efficacy left off the list here, but it's worth pointing out that supplementing in general (like philosophically) can be problematic if the goal is reducing liver enzymes unless you're very careful and specific about the specific supplement. 'More' mileage on the liver (even a multivitamin is bad news here) isn't typically good. That said, Fenugreek, Phosphatidylcholine, Dan Shen (Salvia miltiorrhiza / Red Sage), Metafolin (Bioactive folate *not folic acid), and Dandelion Leaf & Root can all have positive effects on the liver and liver enzymes. I'd invite everyone to look these up themselves (on NCBI, etc).
i had an illiostomy 3 month ago, was sick with diveticuliitis, 91/2 in of colon removed, abcess burst, became septic, long story short, full of antibiotics, was on all liquids for a long time. niw back to normal feel great, goin may13th for reversal of stoma, got my pre op blood work done and i was shocked to see my alk phos, sgot sgpt higher than ever!! i got very disheartend. been eating very healthy most of the time, i dont drink any alcohol or take nsaids or tylonol, just armor thyroid for hypothyroidism, i would like to know what the heck is goin on? regards marion
Well thanks for sharing there are a lot of people out there just a confused. I can’t help in situations like this because we need a lot of context to really understand and then ongoing monitoring. I would suggest checking my playlist on liver enzymes though.
Thks for great advice. I😮 am a total all natural approach lets see if mine lowers it was high 68. Is that something I need to worry about? Last test 2 months ago was 49. Dont drink am skinny as all, eat really healthy now for past 2months. I shall see. Praying its nothing.
Thanks for sharing that’s interesting. Celiacs can sometimes cause other problems in the digestive track like bacterial overgrowth. One would expect both of these to potentially cause higher liver numbers.
@swintegrative Never really showed any classic Celiacs symptoms either. Scheduled for an endoscopy next month. Hopefully, that will solve some of the mystery. Thank you for responding. 🙂
Thanks for the video so my dr wanted me to cut back and try and get off testosterone for at least two weeks to find a base line . To find out where to start . But I been on TRT for a year now Is two weeks long enough? Or will I still have higher testosterone levels
This video discusses that but not high bilirubin. I may make a video on that one. BTW You might want to joint the live webinar coming up see community board
Oh…having a virus can increase your AST #’s…I see. Had covid recently and now swollen lips, tongue, gums-so painful, especially the cracked tongue. Taking probiotics from Seeking Health-seems to be helping.
Thank you for this video. I recently had my blood drawn and I am 39, female (have been drinking more alcohol lately than normal) and my Alt was in red saying “HIGH” - my ALT was 45. Now I am scared something is really wrong with my liver. Although, the weekend before I indulged in some drinks over the weekend (2 days before test) and am wondering if that had an effect on my numbers. Anyways, I am a hypochondriac as it is and all I have been doing this last week is drinking water and not touching any alcohol. I might just keep this up for a while too. Should I retest in a few weeks to give myself some peace of mind? Or should I wait 6 months.. I’m just really concerned about my liver. Anyways, thanks again for this video. 🙏
Can you have raised liver enzymes from "good carbs" ? I tried to gain weight.. so I added all these daily to my diet...Quaker oats (at least 100 grams) , banana, apple, cranberries, and at least 100 grams of quinoa, I just realized it's around 150-200g of carbs overall.. my liver enzymes doubled after months of addng these :( I thought they are "healthy" foods??
@FatbikerChinoy I feel quite certain reason that your liver enzymes continued to increase was because of the amount of FRUCTOSE that you are putting into your liver by consuming the specific foods you mentioned. Though we may THINK those foods are 'healthy', they contain fructose, and fructose is metabolized in the liver. Historically, I was always real big on fruit, and have learned that we really need to cut back on them because of the high amounts of fructose. Try to focus on dark skin fruit, and especially berries, as they have a much lower glycemic load.... My main point is your score went up because you continued to increase fructose. Fructose is a contributer to liver fat. Lower the fructose intake, and you will get better...... Also, contrary to popular belief, oats are a processed food, and not good for your gut flora. You might want to look up Dr William Davis. He's an authority on this.
Dr. Im a mid distance runner and ran less than a day before my liver test and it came out high for the first time 39, if thats even high. Should i avoid running prior to my next test for a few days? and also I've heard that extra virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar help?
In my opinion here is what I recommend you do: Take your bloodwork again from two different sources in the same morning. Each company will use there own equipment for processing, for example Private location center's like Qwest and LabCorp both offer similar prices for a packaged metabolic liver panel and full cholesterol panel with your LDL/HDL/Triglycerides/Total Cholesterol: The prices for both should run you apx 53.00 to 65.00, so to do it twice you should budget about 120.00, Of course if your primary Doctor is willing to let you run your labs again, great but you have to decide if double-testing is worth it or not, in my opinion it is: Liver Enzymes are highly volatile at times, in fact if you were to take your liver enzymes and cholesterol testing, at two different processing centers say within 4 hours of each other and have only water to drink between both blood test , and minimize any walking, (ideally going straight from one appointment straight to your next appointment, so your blood is drawn within 1 hour of each other from two different locations) you could get your enzymes have as high as a 25 point swing between say YOUR ALT, and a 15 point swing in your Total Cholesterol, (all within a two hour window !!) I know this for a fact, because I was suspicious of the Quest offices in my area, (I won't go into why) I still use Qwest very frequently, but know this, the entire field of science which try's to look to liver enzymes and cholesterol as markers of a person's health, is not black and white in the least, Having said that when you do get your bloodwork, you need to be very mindful of what you eat and drink a good 24 hours, (not just 12 hours) to 48 hours, do not eat a heavy carb meal , or eat eggs or meat, or butter, (look for fish low in cholesterol, like Tuna packaged in water, or Chicken Breast ) Oatmeal, many fruits, don't have cholesterol in them, you get the idea, the reason why you want to stay away from heavy carb like meals the day before your blood test is because of the newer science which is making the connection between carbohydrates can cause inflammation, and insulin resistance is more closely tied to carbohydrates as a result, (if you must have coffee 24 hours prior, because your addicted to coffee like me ) and you have to have a sweetner look into using the healthier plant based milk and cream alternatives in the form of Macademia Milk (which I'de put at top choice) or OatMilk or a healthy sugar substitute called Monk-Fruit sweetner, which looks like sugar and taste almost the same, (better tasting than Stevia actually and healthier) P.S. Your a little young to have Triglycerides above 150, you really want to change your life and diet to see triglycerides consistently coming down below 125, but you can't know that unless your willing (like I try) to get that tested every 30 days to see what is working and not working, (yes it's expensive in the beginning but this is the only true scientific way of knowing what's going on inside, the standard advice of getting this done 1X a year or even 2X a year is meaningless and bad medical advise now, (our food and water supply is under constant threat and the organic food industry is largely a scam in so many ways, once you look into it a little more deeply) Here are some links for reference: P.S.S. I also take an NAC supplement and drink Dandelion Tea regularly, and have taken Burdock Root in the past, I've had less success with Milk Thistle myself, The NAC supplement I'm taking is specifically to see if it lowers my GGT, (my level was 60, but I've had it under 20 in the past, it moved up quite a bit since it's absolute low 1 year ago, that one in particularly I struggle with myself , more so than my ALT and AST) 1) through this webportal, you order your own bloodwork more cheaply than going to Qwest or LabCorp directly, which is very strange, but I've used this method myself several times hopefully you have both choices available to you in your area, (now everyone does) www.walkinlab.com/ 2) Healthy, Sugar substitute, it looks, cooks and taste almost like regular cane sugar www.amazon.com/Fruit-Sweetener-Allulose-Erythritol-Aftertaste/dp/B0BR4N7C2F/ref=sr_1_5_pp?crid=157G426SN19M0&keywords=monk+fruit&qid=1703223673&sprefix=monk+fruit%2Caps%2C144&sr=8-5 3) www.amazon.com/Milkadamia-Macadamia-Milk-Unsweetened-Vanilla/dp/B07N186D3Z/ref=sr_1_4_f3_0o_wf?crid=864QSS6X9HF2&keywords=milkadamia&qid=1703224084&sprefix=milkadamia%2Caps%2C153&sr=8-4&th=1 4) This was on a Black Friday sale, when I got, it, but overall I think this is still one of the strongest NAC supplements with dosage and quantity for our money, I just hope the quality is good , (they have in business for a long time, but supplement quality is often very hit and miss in what's effective and unfortunately the only way to know this is through expensive monthly bloodwork to track the cause and effect) www.amazon.com/1300mg-NAC-Supplement-N-Acetyl-Cysteine/dp/B0BJFSL1PH/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3QCMXJAKMAK48&keywords=Toniq+NAC&qid=1703224924&sprefix=toniq+nac%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-2 (empty stomach is how it's best absorbed) as I researched NAC more, I found that you can safely take 1800 MG as it's been studied with human trials at over 2000 MG ) I notice a mental focus boost when taking this as many report, just bear with me on any gramatical or punctuation errors, what matters most is the advice, (the best nutritionist and Dr's I've met in life often had english as a 2nd language, so remember to focus on what's being said, not necessarily how well it's being said, in face to face on in written form)
I lost a lot of weight over 4 months. NOW these two are off. Prior to weight loss they were normal. I rarely drink at all - glass of wine occasionally. I do drink a lot of ice tea?
I have elevated Alt AST I'm thinking because of my hep b viral load is very high. Wondering if milk thistle would help this inflammation reason as well? Thank you very much
You might want to check my videos on milk thistle but milk thistle helps increase glutathione which can reduce inflammation and also has protective effects independent of this. Be sure to tell your doctor all the things you are taking.
Hi do you believe or have any knowledge of bcaa l-leucine, L-isoleucine,l-Valine, l-carnitine, and l-tartrate causing elevated liver enzymes my ggt, alt, ast, and alp are all elevated all of a sudden I had just started take that supplement a week before the test and my doctor wants me to stop taking if before I repeat it in two weeks. I don’t drink or smoke or do any type of drugs and I’m currently breastfeeding. Thanks any info would be greatly helpful. Dosage is 5000 mg for first 3 and 1250mg for last 2.
Just had labs done and have elevated enzymes. Message from my doctor is that I may need to exercise. I'm thinking of getting a second opinion. Maybe from the guy at the donut shop.
Hi thank you so much for the videos. My alkaline phosphate is 156. The normal range is 35-120 in Canada. I have never had a high alkaline phosphate reading before back in June 2023. My test result was 116 and six months later it’s at 156. Help. Not sure if I should really be concerned about this and how to lower it. Help
@@swintegrative thank you so much for responding. I’ve been googling it and honestly it’s very scary. It’s saying could be cancer could be breast colon liver cancer, or a blocked bile duct in the liver. How could this be happening if all my blood work, red ,white blood cell count, leucocytes ,platelets everything has come back normal cholesterol & sugar. The only elevation is the alkaline phosphate. Would other markers be elevated if there was cancer in my body.? I would love to hear your opinion on this. Thank you.
What are your thoughts on the use of the creatine supplement alongside heavy weight training and getting ALT levels of up to 100? Showing no symptoms and no damage indicated in an abdomen scan.
Hello the sir, I just discovered and really enjoy your videos and just subscribed. Have you heard of The dietary supplement LIVER RENEW by National Health MD? I just ordered a bottle and I’m wondering if it is even worth trying.
@@swintegrative Oh ok I saw the video on UA-cam if you get a chance to look into it. I was just wondering, if you had seen it what your thoughts were on it. It might be a great video topic for you. Thank you for your time and response.
My GGT is 168, but ALT and AST are normal. I take a sleeping pill and unfortunately, I have to take it for sleep. If I take the medicine you suggest, will it help decrease the enzyme levels?
Last weekend my lab results shows my liver enzymes are high...My Doctor was very surprised..because my lab test always comes out good. I am on levothyroxine and simvastatine .The only other medication i have been taken recently is Naproxen for shoulder pains...could that causes it ??? My Doctor says maybe if taken for long period and without food.. well I was taken it for about two + months. .What do you think.??
For me what caused my liver enzymes to go up was from doing a low-carb diet eating lots of animal fat, I never had liver enzyme issues before until this I never had hypoglycemia attacks either before this low-carb diet and I have talked to other people who had the same thing happened to them from doing low carb , not that it happens to everyone but it happened to me and the people that reached out to me
Hope you are doing fine now.. anyway, It's really confusing.. I know someone who got her elevated enzyme issues (from multiple covid) fixed by low carb diet.. she's not doing keto though. Just limiting carbs and have a balance diet overall.. her numbers went down in a month..
@@FatbikerChinoy I got off the low-carb diet back in 2019 only now just barely recently have my enzymes finally gone down a little bit But I'm still monitoring them I'm eating more of a balanced diet now with higher protein less animal fat I have no doubt it was the beef tallow that really messed me up And butter didn't help either
@@daysoftheboo yeah, high chance , I also think keto is extreme, my friend just tried to eliminate rice and bread, and eat a balanced diet and more protein like fish and chicken, but not fried
Generally speaking high carb diets are a major cause of high liver enzymes so lowering generally helps. Doesn’t apply to everyone though so thanks for sharing
@@swintegrative I can definitely see an unhealthy high carb diet full of process carbs causing high liver enzymes but I always ate whole foods I never a candy no added sugar only natural sugar in fruit I went on a low-carb diet hoping it would help my digestive issues it did but then I develop other issues along with the high liver enzymes I guess for me my body doesn't tolerate too much animal fat
Very efficient detoxification of enzymes. What happens in some cases is the detoxification pathways increase as the alcohol increases but there is a limit to this of course. Also some people naturally have higher or lower capacity
Your answer here peaks my interest along this train of though: The GGT score if high can be from what I've read, just sluggish bile, or low bile volume, and I think fatty liver from cholesterol can play a big role, so my question would be this, Would a OMEGA 3 supplement that lowers cholesterol/triglyceride levels in the body, indirectly lower potentially a GGT liver enzyme score because, it means the liver won't work as hard to break down the saturated fat or cholesterol and require less bile?
I have high AST / SGOT and Normal ALT / SGPT . Do I get both the supplements you mentioned to lower my AST? Pure Encapsulations Silymarin | Milk Thistle Extract Supplement and the Vital Nutrients Liver Support II 60 Capsules Do I get them both ,please help

@@swintegrative Thanks for clarifying, much appreciated!
Found your video..
Recently had my blood work done my ALT was 72. I am 42 years old, 3 months postpartum. Dont drink, don’t take medication. Try to eat a healthy organic diet could be better with fruits and vegetables. I am surprised it’s so high and not sure what to do next.
If you don't drink, take medication, and don't have a fatty liver and you ALT is that high you might have Hepatitis
Thanks but I don’t. Been checked for that recently.
@@kata5637 Some people have gotten higher alt and ast levels due to intense exercise. There are videos on youtube about it.
Great video!
If you take many supplements, that can also elevate the liver enzyms. That is what happened to me. After taking two months break, alt came to normal range. Sometimes nothing works except giving a break to the liver. Fasting shuold be a great tool.
Can all three supplements be taken together? (Milk thistle, dandelion root and burdock) Or should just one be taken?
Yes. I take vital plan daily multi plus which has these herbs included with the multi vitamin. Started taking them for Lyme disease.
Daily multi plus does not contain burdock but does have the other two.
Take all as they complement each other
Has it helped you ?@@susan4789
My ALT is 45 and AST is 32. I am 18 male. My triglycerides are 138. I know these elevated enzymes are due to fatty liver because i am overweight. i have done a diet for 3 weeks and cut out all sugar and carbs. Will my NAFLD and Insulin resistance be gone?
depends how strict you have been let us know.
I've had a transplant. I'm on Prograf. My levels were so high it was causing elevated creatinine levels. I recently discovered e-coli
On the FB group there are so many people diagnosed with different stages of cirrhosis that say there enzymes are or have been in the normal range. How is this? Im petrified because my ALT is 2 points over range so don’t know if l should have a fibroscan or some futher testing.
See video on “what your liver enzymes should be” normal is not normal in many cases
I heard Intermittent fasting 20/4, and also lots of fiber, can also help alot too, would you agree?
It should if they are high from poor diet
Yeah could be either but best for your doctor give you a though check
Hi doctor. My ALT is 185. I'm a bodybuilder but I am on accutane. Is it because I exercise very regualry plus the accutane. My diet is perfect, I dont drink nor eat junk food. Thank you
Hard to say but accutane can do it. See video on exercise and liver enzymes
@@Aqua20036 sounds like you are asking is 57 high you might want to look at videos on my Chanel about this topic for more details. it is high
@@swintegrative Youre right but a lot of doctors would say its slightly higher. Why is that? I always have heard 3 different stories on this and I find your videos are helpful.

I am 23 male and my ALT is 58, I have been a constant drinker for 3 years but have been sober for over a month now. Is this extremely high? In another video you stated over 50 is concerning. Doc said pancreas enzyme is elevated too.
Yes that's too high at your age, it should not be over 30, ideally, but liver enzymes are volatile often times, what you ate 24 to even 48 hours, or what kind of physical activity your doing
up to 48 hours can play a role, (being outside in the cold weather shoveling snow for example is not good 12 hours prior) it can throw the results off,
I have stage 3 fatty liver but my blood work test indicated perfect liver function why please tell me also ultrasound was perfect
Thank you !! Doc I just order the product you have in bio

Thanks for sharing that’s interesting. Celiacs can sometimes cause other problems in the digestive track like bacterial overgrowth. One would expect both of these to potentially cause higher liver numbers.

Your welcome. The numbers can change in just a few weeks if you remove the problem
Would diclofenac cause high liver enzymes
@FatbikerChinoy Would love to know this too.

I'm a 28 year old female and my GGT level is 50 (should be
In my opinion here is what I recommend you do: Take your bloodwork again from two different sources in the same morning. Each company will use there own equipment for processing, for example Private location center's like Qwest and LabCorp both offer similar prices for a packaged metabolic liver panel
and full cholesterol panel with your LDL/HDL/Triglycerides/Total Cholesterol: The prices for both should run you apx 53.00 to 65.00, so to do it twice
you should budget about 120.00, Of course if your primary Doctor is willing to let you run your labs again, great but you have to decide if double-testing is worth it
or not, in my opinion it is:
Liver Enzymes are highly volatile at times, in fact if you were to take your liver enzymes and cholesterol testing, at two different processing centers
say within 4 hours of each other and have only water to drink between both blood test , and minimize any walking, (ideally going straight from one appointment
straight to your next appointment, so your blood is drawn within 1 hour of each other from two different locations) you could get your enzymes have as high as a
25 point swing between say YOUR ALT, and a 15 point swing in your Total Cholesterol, (all within a two hour window !!)
I know this for a fact, because I was suspicious of the Quest offices in my area, (I won't go into why) I still use Qwest very frequently, but know this,
the entire field of science which try's to look to liver enzymes and cholesterol as markers of a person's health, is not black and white in the least,
Having said that when you do get your bloodwork, you need to be very mindful of what you eat and drink a good 24 hours, (not just 12 hours) to 48 hours,
do not eat a heavy carb meal , or eat eggs or meat, or butter, (look for fish low in cholesterol, like Tuna packaged in water, or Chicken Breast )
Oatmeal, many fruits, don't have cholesterol in them, you get the idea, the reason why you want to stay away from heavy carb like meals the day before
your blood test is because of the newer science which is making the connection between carbohydrates can cause inflammation, and insulin resistance
is more closely tied to carbohydrates as a result, (if you must have coffee 24 hours prior, because your addicted to coffee like me ) and you have to have a sweetner
look into using the healthier plant based milk and cream alternatives in the form of Macademia Milk (which I'de put at top choice) or OatMilk or a healthy sugar
substitute called Monk-Fruit sweetner, which looks like sugar and taste almost the same, (better tasting than Stevia actually and healthier)
P.S. Your a little young to have Triglycerides above 150, you really want to change your life and diet to see triglycerides consistently coming down below 125,
but you can't know that unless your willing (like I try) to get that tested every 30 days to see what is working and not working, (yes it's expensive in the beginning but this is the only true scientific way of knowing what's going on inside, the standard advice of getting this done 1X a year or even 2X a year is meaningless and bad medical advise now,
(our food and water supply is under constant threat and the organic food industry is largely a scam in so many ways, once you look into it a little more deeply)
Here are some links for reference:
P.S.S. I also take an NAC supplement and drink Dandelion Tea regularly, and have taken Burdock Root in the past, I've had less success with Milk Thistle myself,
The NAC supplement I'm taking is specifically to see if it lowers my GGT, (my level was 60, but I've had it under 20 in the past, it moved up quite a bit since it's absolute low
1 year ago, that one in particularly I struggle with myself , more so than my ALT and AST)

It should help it as it typically will lower triglycerides
Your answer here peaks my interest along this train of though: The GGT score if high can be from what I've read, just sluggish bile, or low bile volume, and
I think fatty liver from cholesterol can play a big role, so my question would be this, Would a OMEGA 3 supplement that lowers cholesterol/triglyceride levels in the body,
indirectly lower potentially a GGT liver enzyme score because, it means the liver won't work as hard to break down the saturated fat or cholesterol and require less bile?
