I totally agree, I am 63 yo and my husband passed after being together for 40 years. The Lord has me longing and seeking authenticity, turning from the ‘playbook’ and looking for those with the ‘blueprint’ (see the Pastor Tim’s interview with Pastor Dharius)

Ya'll won't believe... I was watching/listening to this podcast and ya'll had just finished speaking about BAM (business and Ministry) and how the ministry can get perverted. I literally stopped the podcast at that point. So I decide to do some Bible reading. And my chapter for today was John 2. I get to verse 12 and I'm like Wow this is confirmation for this word. Jesus said in verse 16 as he was turning tables over and whipping animals out from in front of the temple. "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!"..... If you reading this and you find yourself in this kind of situation whether it's you, your church or someone you know, God is doubling down on this one. We need to repent.... I just had to say this cz it blew my mind. God bless you all!!!!! This is a fire conversation!!!!

I think some Christians equate ppl using God’s name in vain to God doesn’t speak. That’s always odd to me bc how are we God led if we don’t believe that God speaks. We don’t know purpose or where we’re called by going by our own physical abilities. This life is not our own. Also, I love that Tim spoke on his purpose. It explains the connection you see with his guests and how fitting his teaching is each time. He has an ear to hear, & speaks with compassion. So rare to have a heart of vulnerability, & grace with the many calling out “Lord, Lord…”

I find it hard to beleive if your preaching for 20+ years all over the world, its the churches making you behave a certain way and not just your own lack confidence that the church will accept you as a child of God and memeber of the church.

What I've learned from this convo:
I should not have to compromise my authenticity to show up in certain rooms.
Out the gate, this was a really raw and beautiful story. Had this playing in the background while doing tasks around the house, and the authentic conversation truly blessed me beyond measure. Got way more food than I anticipated... Thank you both 🙏🏽

Pause. So here's the thing, No matter who or how many people you word wrestle into saying you should be able to curse and use words to paint God in a bad light, it will NEVER make it right or righteous by God. Word is clear. If it's not clear to you and your understanding on the subject isn't clear or wrong then that is a thing that can be rectified by teaching of correct knowledge by way of the Holy Spirit. As a man of God, everything you do and say TO THE PUBLIC should be an example of what God is like and nothing more or less. What you do in the privacy of your home, you have a bit more freedom and leeway, but before the world or even just the body of Christ you can't say or do ANYTHING that even MIGHT be a stumbling block in the name of your own comfort, authenticity, and vulnerability. Just repent and move on and put it behind you. It's all love. We all make mistakes or exercise bad judgment at times. It's only a problem when we let the spirit of pride make us try to justify wrong and we white knuckle it just so we don't have to admit to a public wrong idea we have perpetuated that needs to be corrected personally AND in others as well by your testimony and example. This is God's journey, not yours. All in love. Love you Timothy Ross. ❤

I found out about this channel less than five days ago, and it had become the only thing I do in my free time 3 of those 5 nights since then. These kinds of honest conversation are where I am at. This is why ten years ago I didn’t get married because he really wanted to be a leader, and I was wanting to be a Moses “go with” follower. I sensed it, and God had other plans for me.
I am want to learn more and keep being honest. This is where it is at, this podcast. I used to listen to the podcast Beautiful Anonymous. It reminds me our histories and stories are important. I am blown away at how refreshing and convicting these conversations are. The Holy Spirit... So thankful…

I think I can officially say that this has been my FAVORITE episode of The Basement so far! I liked Dee-1 since I heard his song “The One” in my single season, but this conversation here!!! I’m like this my brother in Christ FR! The AUTHENTICITY and flow of Holy Spirit between you two in this conversation. Oooooweeee! I shared it with two of my friends before I could even finish.
Y’all don’t even know how much confirmation, freedom, and clarity I have received this morning from the things I believe Holy Spirit has spoken to me regarding my Kingdom position as a daughter of King Jesus. Who is also black, a lil-ghetto, a wife, a mama, a daughter, and sister in Christ.🥹 This has been so freeing and gently convicting for the future God has planned for me. Thank y’all so much for this! I feel that code switching view so much. Being biracial it’s been almost automatic to do, because we don’t immediately see “us”, and we gravitate towards sides of ourselves. I’m learning that I shouldn’t be in pursuit of the acceptance of culture, even from my own - as much as I seek what is pleasing to God. Thank you again for fleshing out this topic 🙏🏽

I woke up this morning with so much anxiety and depressed feelings. I was trying to read my word and meditate but the anxious thoughts kept clouding my mind so much I couldn’t just sit and pray. So I turned this podcast on and believe me it touched my soul and gave me so much peace! I love the basement team and Dee1 so much! I’m a Louisiana native 🎉so this just touched my soul so much. Keep being y’all. Y’all really are changing people lives with these conversations! ❤

I can not wait to share this with my 6 and 9 year old boys. I’m a caucasian woman and a mother to 3 biracial children. 2 of which have had a ton of questions about who they’re “supposed” to be or sound or act like and I tell them “just be you, the you that feels right in your heart and spirit because that’s who God sent to this earth” That resonates with them because like this pod I’m authentic with my children in this new walk with Christ so they trust that but I believe this pod with Dee1 and seeing a truly authentic person who loves God and a man who looks to them as exactly what in their minds is cool or at least familiar will be such a blessing for them. They’re young but they GET IT and my 9 yr old is who brought me even into this relationship with God to be completely transparent. He was looking at me for answers and knowledge and that pushed me to find out not even for me at the time but for him. Anyways this pod is a true blessing and I just thank y’all for your obedience! ❤

Tim, using the "N" word to justify how "real" you are shows how much you desire fit in with culture. We have to be Christ like. From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. You're indirectly teaching people keep the culture and Christ. Renew your mind. There's a difference between having an accent versus using disrespectful language that's a cultural norm.
Agree. Tim’s trying too hard to justify his ignorant tongue. Even try to flip the Bible verses to do so. We are a new creation in Christ, “native tongue” included. Him and Dee1 were on two different pages and it showed. Tim is stuck in his old ways which we all do, but it’s wrong when trying to justify and make sense of nonsense. You called to teach which includes being called out of “culture.” Dee1 could use the same cultural excuse to curse and say the n-word due to being a rapper! I pray Tim is changed by the Holy Spirit to speak better, as he’s a reflection of the body of Christ. We’re glad you’re not one way on camera than you are in person, either way it’s not a good look.

Ayy this podcast is the real deal,I’m not good at being vulnerable, but being a refugee from Africa who came to the states when I was 12 and being a saved Christian my friend circle is very small close to one or none, and I was authentic but didn’t know how to be relatable. Thanks for this podcast, I really never knew how the Black Culture can influence you very much especially in the teens and young adults just wow.
