I had tried numerous times with Apple support to update the replacement air pod and nothing worked. Tried a bunch of videos and nothing worked. Watched this video, put both air pods in the case for an hour and it worked, thank you!
Hi, so recently broke my right AirPod, and my friend had a spare, exact model and gen, but not the same version, one is version 6A326 and another 3A283, is this the reason why it isn’t working? But yet my case shows the spare AirPod charging within in but unable to use it. Thank you.
Yes. You can only connect the airpods once they are synced. Syncing in this case means that the airpod with the most current firmware sends it to the other airpod - to be in sync. :)
Thanks for the helpful video mate but in my case, there's a continuous blinking orange light and it shows right airpod from 1st generation and left from 2nd generation. Can it work together?
Hello @Quipment, I have AirPods 3 with firmware version 5B59 which is too old and skipped multiple firmware updates. I gave it to Apple service center, they returned telling they could not help. I’m unable to use AirPods which is not working for the same reason. Ear pods not producing any sound anymore. Can you please advice the possible ways? AirPods charges itself to 100% without any issues. But unable to use. Kindly help.
Hi. Generally, firmware updates are done automatically when you use your Airpods with an iPhone or iPad. "old" firmware versions usually indicate that the bud is not a genuine AirPod. Where did you buy your AirPods? Apple should be able to confirm whether your AirPods are genuine. What is you current issue? Did you lose one AiPods and tried to connect a replacement or your AirPods just stopped working?
@@quipment9766 Hi, The AirPods 3 was bought from Authorised Apple Reseller and I can assure it is not a fake one. Hi, I lost my right AirPod 3rd gen and I bought a replacement for the same. The Apple Store told me that both these AirPods are of different firmwares hence not connecting. I have tried all luck but cannot connect, it always blinks orange and says mismatched AirPods. Please help
Hi. Those are Airpods Pro 2nd Gen. Since when do you have the replacement airpod? Last year Airpod issued a firmware, 6A300, which was faulty and does not allow synching firmwares between airpods. The newest version 6B34 does allow synching again but not with older firmware versions. The error message you receive is erroneous. Likely, one of your airpods has a faulty firmware version. This is Apple's fault, and they should be obligated to solve it. Go to a genius bar and demand they solve it because it is Apple's fault. They will likely not admit to it, but maybe you get lucky.

Mismatch AirPods means that one of your components (either AirPod or case) are still registered under a different Apple ID. Did you buy your AirPod from someone or a store?
Why do I have to crowd-source this at all? Apple is charging us tons of money and they still are not willing to give us the info we need in a way that's easily accessible to its customers. 😖

You can only connect one with the help of an opposite one. Once they are connected you don't need the second one anymore. So if you can get (borrow) one from a friend or even the Apple store, use it to connect, then give it back.

Which Model numbers do the two airpods have? You can find them in small print on the inside of each airpod. Something like A2084.
