@@PaintingandDecorating can you tell me if the outside temperature affects the wallrock thermal liner sticking to the wall, on one of your other videos someone put in comments if the outside temperature is lower than 10°the liner won't stick

Hi mate I need some advice. I used the wallrock stuff in my room and everything went fine. But I struggled to get a neat finish on the joints. After sticking the wallpaper I applied 1 coat of easily fill compound on the joints, let it dry and sanded it down and painted on top but in some places the joints have cracks and you can see where 1 sheet paper meets another. Is there any way to make it more seamless and professional looking?
    Cheers

You will have to fill again and cross line.. probably your best way.. Thanks

@@PaintingandDecorating do you mean cross line with lining paper after using jointing compound?

Would you advise it on a stone house? one of the walls we want to try this on is cold and sometimes gets a bit damp in the winter...

I have some ceilings in my bungalow that have been coated with a light stipple finish and then coated with satin emulsion. I was thinking of using the polystyrene insulation as a lining paper and a extra insulation being it's a bungalow.would you recommend lightly sanding the ceiling to remove some of the stipple or do you think this would be sufficient to cover it?

Always best to try and smooth if you can.. it does stick very good over slightly rough surface.. make sure you allow it to dry for 48 hrs before cross lining. thanks

Never apply polystyrene products to ceilings... it is a fire hazard. Bob

In a bungalow better to increase the loft insulation.

I think you will find the modern polystyrene lining paper has a fire retardant coating added to it, it's not like the old 1970s polystyrene tiles.that were a fire hazard.i remember the fire services telling people to remove them.

I can see how this stuff would stop the walls being cold to touch. I can't see how 4mm is going to make a noticeable difference to insulation levels when 100mm cladding might save 40% on your bills.
