I'm almost 38 and in good shape and i can't fathom finishing even part of this. 100 pullups alone, to me, is crazy. I think it would take me forever. But maybe because i don't know how to do or have ever done a kipping pullup, only dead-hang pullups.
Josh Bridges you beast! I feel like this was the best test of fitness in the whole games. I tend to think their was a little too much emphasis on lifting heavy weight in the games. It definitely should be in there, but extended endurance played too small of a role.
My favorite WOD. At 1:00 the reason Katrin won, again. To get it all, you have to give it all. I see what your teaching me. I pray I can implement it into my life half as well. :)
Everyone’s complaining about the pull ups, but just about every cross fitter I’ve seen in my towns local CrossFit could do about 20 minimum strict pull-ups, it’s just that during competition they’re doing it for time, it is kind of stupid but I did notice that they do develop their pull-up muscles anyways and are actually very good at it. I don’t do either and they still out do me by 12 at least if they’re regular cross fitters, a lot more naturally explosive as well. I used to do CrossFit for basketball and things such as dunking and explosive strength came a lot easier.
those pull ups are good for training if you haven't developed the muscles yet to even start doing pull ups, but by doing this for competition and calling it a pull-up is fraudulent in my eyes. If they're worried about time than I get that, but these are pro-athletes and i think they can do this within 60 minutes easy, probably even within 40 minutes.
Nah mate I'll just do less reps with proper form. You know, to not injure myself while trying to show off. Rule 1 of the gym, leave your ego at the door. Lower number of high quality reps > higher number of low quality reps.
@@raydenwins1071 The kip is real proper form. Its a gymnastic movement! @@raydenwins1071 Guess you've never tried it then. It's not a matter of correct or not correct. It's a different style. ALL CROSSFITTERS do both styles of pull-ups depending on the WODs. The regular pull-ups we call strict pull-ups (no kipping, straight arm and finish with the upper chest at the bar (not chin). In fact, if you watch some of the CrossFit pros training regiments, they will attach 45-90 lbs plates around their waist and do reps with strict pull-ups. It's not about form, it's about endurance and overall time. If they were doing it for muscle building purposes then that's when they'd worry about form.

20 pounds. which is nowhere near the weight of a real military body armor. IOTV alone with no plates is 30 pounds. Each plate is about 12 pounds and you can wear a minimum of 2 or a maximum of 4. Even with a plate carrier you still have to wear plates. So it should be changed more to a 40 pound vest and have to wear combat boots
James Michael Torres Greaux Thanks. Well, this is a sports event and not a training for SOF. LRRPs carry 100 kg (~200 pounds) on a mission. Do you want to see these athlets running with huge rucksacks because some units have to carry loads like this? Most of the athlets would shuffle like paratroopers entering a plane. 20 pounds keep the show aesthetic.

@@ishitrealbad3039 I can't agree with you. The pull ups in crossfit optimize a different function - efficiency. When speed and energy preservation are the parameters you want to maximize there is one form that accomplished this better than any other and that is the butterfly pull up. All these people commenting about fake pull-ups is sad. Especially because half of them probably could not do more than 2 or 3 of these STRICT dead hang pull-up they are so worried about. Yikes its cringey how hateful people are.
Bridges dominated the that workout for his fallen brother. Amazing victory.
was he a navy seal?
Yes, he was.
I don’t know how to make that statement any gayer lmao
You disgrace every fallen soldier when you use Crosshit to sully their names!
he was a navy seal along with many others in the sport... The Seals respect this tribute every year !! , get tf out

This Saturday we will do 'Murph' with our box. I am 51 and looking forward to it! The first time so I hope to have a descent time.
These Videos are unique !
I watch this before every Murph workout.
Love the video and the music! Awesome job
Love this. I Tried MURPH 1st time yesterday in the snow. Slippery :) /Love from Sweden
Murph would've done real pull ups

👍
It's no wonder with that ridiculous format.
hhh not anymore
So much motivation... Thank you Crossfit.. these athletes both men and women are awesome... about to go do my WOD @CrossfitTribecca :)

These people are undeniably incredible but... those pull-ups aren't pull-ups
You mean butterfly pull ups
well yeah, they are not meant to be pull ups
100 good form pull ups in a 20 pound vest is really damn hard
haters should try to do 100 kipping pull-ups with a 20 lbs vest before commenting. If they still have their arms attached to their torso afterward.
The workout sucks. No doubt. It may suck more if you do it correctly, but that's the fucking point. Do it right, or don't fucking bother.
that was awesome!
1:24 First set of corn rows I have seen in CF.
