Running a 1600 in the ~4:50-5:10 range with a big heavy weightlifter-type physique as most of these guys did is pretty impressive. A lot of comments hating saying they're on PEDs or they're not fast or what ever but as an actual mid distance track runner I find this pretty impressive hahah
@ really the average people you run with are running sub 5? I guarantee that isn’t true. Only place that is true would be on a college team. You can tell when folks are insecure about someone else’s achievements because they act like it’s not that good.
@@chrystiancrisostomo4528 ...wish I could...but at 68 years old I'm past my expiration date. I did run 4:42 a lifetime ago. But you are missing the point about the pacing. He gave inferior runners a much better chance of beating him with such a crazy first 200-400m. But running is just one of a zilion things these guys do so I should probably cut him so slack.
Not necessarily for this event tbh. From a running perspective, yeah he probably goes sub 4:50 if he doesn't bust out the gate like he did. But if he just wants the win, and he knows no one competing here is going to have the speed to match him or close hard enough, it's actually perfect pacing.
They are all juicing, not impressive. More impressive that you did it in 7th grade as a 11-12 year old not juicing, probably in school for 8 hours, eating cereal and a ham sandwich. These guys on diet programs training 8 hours a day and they can only run 4:55 is embarrassing. They are strong though, running not so much
“Fittest” is such an ambiguous term. We talking highest VO2 Max? Cyclists and cross country skiers. Highest lactic threshold? 400M hurdlers have to be up there. All around athleticism? Decathletes and heptathletes. Best at CrossFit? Crossfitters.
None of you are track fans and it shows. Lemme fill you in. This ain’t a mile. This is a 1600. In professional track, they start 9 meters before the line so it’s a full 1609.
Ya jacked on juice, diet programs and training 8 hours a day. 13 year olds drinking coke, eating sugar, in school for 8 hours, playing fortnight all night is more impressive. Embarrassing they can only run a 5 min mile no matter how jacked they are
If you're an athlete you're suppose to do better for one mile .. its one mile to give it your all. That's easy peasy.. if it were 3 miles or 2 they would definitely struggle with that weight.. why are people reacting to this as they are marveled by it?
Because this is a single event in a multiple- day, multiple-event per day competition that includes heavy lifting in addition to cardio events. I would agree that this isn’t impressive if it were a stand alone event, but it’s not. Not even close.
CrossFit is moronic. The fact they have the nerve to call winner “fittest person on earth”… tells exactly how insecure they are about how ridiculous CrossFit is.
As a former high school runner who ran a 4:38 mile, this is insanely impressive at that size and weight!
But were you blasting PEDs?

Even with the PEDs, it's still difficult work for someone that is ~175-190cm tall and ~90-100kg to run a ~5min mile (~1.6Km)
This morning 2/9/25 the indoor record was set at 3:46.. by a real runner …this guy is definitely on the good juice
6:07 is considered a “weak performance” meanwhile I need 5 minutes to recover from a 7:00 mile
Absolutely amazing. The slowest in the first heat was just over 6 minutes. That is just amazing.
Not really. Pretty average all out mile for people who run a few times a week.

out of bounds at 4:35
Ricky loves a good doctor
63 second opening lap is impressive!
Worst paced mile ever. But still...amazing performance. Great event.
How bout you go and do it?

5:20 that’s not a dead sprint 😂
Ricky also won the sprint that happened right after the mile
Easy to do when you are juicing
Hmmm special sauce?
yes
Middle school kids can go 4:53
@@chazdavis1644 middle school kids don't have 200lbs of muscle and haven't been caught juiced up at a prior Crossfit event.

Weak sauce
Is 4:53 good?
For a man of that size, yes
For a full grown man on juice, no
I ran that in 7th grade lol. Carrying all that muscle and doing it is nuts. Lol why
Poor guys hahahah
Wow, thats pretty impressive for a 7th grader!

I thought this guy was banned for PEDs?
Insane
The funniest thing about this to me is that, even with a track, they can’t get the distance right. This is a 1600, not a mile.
9 meters off
Lmao ain’t no way you’re knotted up over 9 meters. 1600 m and a mile is the same damn thing
I ran 1600m in high-school. Everyone still called it "the mile" and the 3200 "the two mile"
1600m is referred to as a mile everywhere!! Idk where you live 😂😂😂

Well, they do call the 1600 the "metric mile". It's prob only a 1-2ish second difference regardless.
@ that’s not my point. People are talking about this like it’s a profession sport event. If that was true, they would know the difference.
Looks like Ricky is back on the juice 💉💊
😊❤
Ricky is the best ATHLETE in elite CF right now. . . probably ever
1600
Seen less drugs at the Kentucky derby 🙄
Wouldn’t even win against 13yos
Except these guys are jacked and have been competing in events all day 🤡

CrossFitters are probably fitter than any other athletes besides elite tactical athletes like US special forces.

Competitive cross fitters probably are the fittest athletes on earth tbh
