    It's crazy to see a net looking material holding up to 400 pounds, but that thing is dope.

    Wow, how convenient. Quick set up and take down. A must to keep in the vehicle. Thanks. Tony

    Impressive!
    I wasn't sure if anyone would be able to beat the Eno Sub6 at 5.8 ounces.
    Great review as always.

    Adjusting the ENO type straps isn't as difficult as it would seem. You can wrap the straps more than once around a tree to get nearly infinite adjustment.
    Problems are: the straps get shorter, and once in ten thousand both trees are the perfect diameter for even spacing. You can tell that rather quickly by wrapping the middle part of the strap around the tree to see if the loops line up before hanging.

    The Hummingbird Hammocks single is only 5.2 oz and their straps are 2.3 oz (both straps combined).

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  7 років тому +1

      Their straps are a small bit of webbing and whoopies which I hate and are are only 8'4" saving some weight there. As for the hammock (which is what the video is about) this one weighs 4.6oz without the stuff sack. I think this mono material is better than 1.1 ripstop nylon. I use 1.9 on my camping hammock. Thanks for the heads up but this one is better IMO.

      I despise whoopies. They fail at the worst times. Can adjust the ENO type loop straps. Next set may be the slide buckle type, but that will be a few years.

      @@livingsurvivalplus the straps don't come with the hummingbird, so it's double the cost of this.

    • @WeiFinder
      @WeiFinder 4 місяці тому

      The hummingbird is double the price cuz the straps are separate and expensive.

    Hi sorry to ask this but does this comes with any straps at all or none? I know the tree protector straps but not the suspension straps. Thank you.

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, although they don’t make this model anymore. They make a regular and jungle hammock and both come with straps.

    question, why would you need a light weight hammock when yiou wouldn't use it for backpacking

    • @MrWillyp00
      @MrWillyp00 7 років тому +3

      Think of it as a recliner, not a bed. It's a super light weight piece of camping furniture, to sit in or take a nap when tent camping.

    • @hungrybynature4205
      @hungrybynature4205 7 років тому +2

      It's great for destination backpacking like Havasupai. You might want to relax on a hammock throughout the day and sleep in your tent.

    I use the ENO Sub7 (8.75'x4') with Hummingbird Button Link Set (5.3oz total) and Hummingbird straps (2.3oz). I have found issue with the short webbing of the original straps, so I appreciate your straps.
    Can you explain your issue with whoopie slings?

    • @davidlazarus67
      @davidlazarus67 7 років тому

      John Godwin compared to a decent cottage industry hammock it is cheap. Though the webbing is probably on the narrow side. The tree protector option was better and should be the only option.

    I tried to like this product but it is lacking to the Eno in the respect that you have less strap options. STS hammock could not be used with the carabiners I typically use nor could it be used with the rope I use either. Shame because I really liked the product. With Eno you are unhindered on strap choices.

    looks like a great hammock, however it it appears that this more for kids, it does not look long enough or wide enough for adults, i typically only use hammocks that are at least 12' long.......reason being i lay in the hammock diagonally.........good review

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  7 років тому +2

      you can lay somewhat diagonally. i am 5'10" 225 and it works fine for me.

    ENO hammocks are downright painful to use as a chair. All the unnecessary material totally bights into the back of my legs. It wasn’t until I got my Hammock Gear hammock that I realized just how comfortable a hammock can be as a chair.
