I've seen/read a bunch of reviews on these by now, most of them describe a very slight hiss coming from the AMT tweeter when powered on. How audible is that from round about 50cm away?

@@insideaudio7164 Thanks for the reply. Went with the HEDD’s. Incredible clarity and low end for the size. Manage a great balance on detail, dynamics. Also work very for audiophile listening which I have not experienced a great deal with some other studio monitors. Keep up the good work 👍

Hi, do you think is it better than adam a7x?

  • @omarz7301
    @omarz7301 3 роки тому +3

Do you think that the Type 07 MKII translates better than the Adam A7X's? Also considering the price (a pair of Type 07 is 50% more expensive than a pair of Adam A7X's). I really can't choose between these two. Also, the A7X's came out over 10 years ago now. Are they that timeless that they will last for another decade? I am really looking for a long term investment here. Or do you have any other recommendations in this price range?

What about the Adam A77X when you’re considering a similar price category??
I had the decision between HEDD Type 07 and A77X to be made and I’m buying the A77X after I was able to hear and compare both in my local store.
The 07 have definitely have more Bass and punch and it makes a lot of fun hearing music on them due to their Bass and low mids ability.
However in comparison to the A77X the sound is more narrow and it seems like they’re swallowing the high frequencies due to the present Bass.
The A77X sound much clearer especially Songs with vocals on it and the sound is wider, like You’re in a concert. It’s fair to say they’re both the exact opposite from one another, it just comes down to personal preference.
On the other hand, the A77X are so bright that in songs with shrill high sounds like a violin u almost have to cover your ears because it hurts if you listen very loud!!
-3DB in the peak highs is the way to go!
So basically the 07 have too little highs, while the A77X have too much.
I compared them both to the Neumann 310 Monitors which are the quintessential of studio speakers and I tested which one of A77X and 07 sounded the closest to the 310 and the winner was clear: The A77X!!
The 310 have a smoother, softer Bass and are more present in the low mids ( the A77X’s Weakness) and not so bright in the highs, but other than that, the sound almost the same!!
And the 310 cost more than double the 07 or A77X.
The 07 had more Bass then the 310 but couldn’t reach their level in any category. Vocals sound a little but muffled in comparison to the 310 let alone the A77X.
I think when you are a beat producer the 07 are the way to go, since music is kinda more pure fun with them but if you’re doing anything with vocals I think the A77X are better, since you can actually hear vocals clear while some effects like ping pong delay isn’t as clear to be heard on the 07. I noticed this especially with mainstream pop songs, Hip Hop Rap songs the gap wasn’t as big but it was still to be heard.
Also the A77X deliver the best sound when you’re 1,8m - 2,5m away due to their building technique.
So they’re more near/ midfield which explains the wider sound image. So in order to be able to hear their full potential u need a little but of space. The 07 are pure nearfield monitors so they work the best if they’re right at your ear 1m -1,5m which explains the more narrow sound.

@@kma997 "I think when you are a beat producer the 07 are the way to go" My exact thoughts when I had the tpe 20s..great for bet making. vocals not so much. the mids were not open at all and behind the beat. I had the PSI 17 on demo for a few months but they want it back now 😟..so now back in the hunt for monitors cuase I dont feel like paying 4500 on monitors rn,..outside of the 3 you talked about, what other monitors do you recomend? I really care about mixing vocals and having nice open monitors like the PSIs but at a cheaper price range

@@SXTWLVE I’d recommend the Neumann KH 310 if they’re in your budget!!
They’re excellent mixing monitors with godly clarity and linear frequency response.

these speakers are complete garbage. I have had to have one replaced already and the second one just died. do not buy these unless you want to replace one every six months. an absolute waste of money.
