Hi there! I know I'm a bit late to the Squid party, but here we are! Hope you guys don't mind me trying out reviewing (and ranting) on something that's not animated (especially on a show like this lol).
Your thoughts on Squid Game? Any details I missed or misunderstood? Fire away in the comments!
SPOILERS BTW LOL
@@beaniiebrian the subtitles are just broken thats why it sounds bad i guess
@@beaniiebrian the title has attracted all the squid game hippies who hyped it up to much
@@beaniiebrian I wish I knew that at the start of the video 😅
@@beaniiebrian For the tug-o-war there may be a safety net on bottom. They simply need to kill everyone except him if the team lose. Other winning contestants and observers don't need to know
I was SO mad when he turned back. He literally didn’t even go to his daughter before he went back to the games.
The entire time he was walking I was like: “WHAT ABOUT YOU’RE DAUGHTER!?”
Now I understand that, but as a father, he probably also didn't want his child being put in danger if she knew what he was doing (+ if he saw her, he might lose the resolve because he may change his mind about wanting to go back to the game) Idk, I'm not invalidating your point, I'm just expressing mine!
Me too. I get the games are on some sort of schedule but that was weird.
That was pretty much the only thing that pissed me off I was shouting at the screen “TURN AROUND DUMBASS THIS DOESNT INVOLVE YOU GO LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER WITH YOUR DAUGHTER”
@@Weegee26 And even if he was gonna go back regardless, was there just not enough time to go see his daughter first? Even if he had to cut his visit short, seems like kind of a dickish thing to do to, even if it was (potentially) in the name of vengeance or whatever.
Hate to be that guy... but...
Your*
13:55 i think they did that on purpose tho. like, them "being equal" was just a lie to give the illusion that everyone had a chance
Didn’t they turn of the lights so that the game would be “fair” because the guy knew which glass was what
That would be a plot hole
@@soupiaaa they only did that so it would be more entertaining for the vips
@@madify6425 I know that but wouldn’t it still be a plot hole
@@soupiaaa not rlly
My solution for the glass walking game is quite simple.. Lay down on your belly, and reach out to touch the glass ahead of you, do _not_ put any of your weight on that arm or you might lose your balance if it breaks. Then, smack it a few times, give it a good bonk. Basically apply enough stress to it that it would either break, or not. If it breaks, go with the _other_ panel.
I don't think you'd be able to reach, considering they have to leap from each panel
That’s genius! Except for one major flaw, they’d probably see you cheat on the cctv and eliminate you. The to add insult to injury maybe they’d remove 30 seconds from the timer, for everyone else, for trying to cheat.
@@ae-sn1pgexactly
They did turn off the lights for the glass guy so he would get punished probably
they blew up the glass bridge at the end because the timer ended, meaning the game would forcibly eliminate anyone left playing the game (still on the glass). it's just like how after the timer in red light green light went off, the players that had yet to cross the finish line would be eliminated. the bridge didn't explode for no reason. additionally, the VIPs were intentionally meant to be obnoxious and annoying. i thought everyone understood that.. like the audience was meant to dislike the VIPs
Why couldn't they just shoot the remaining contestants like they did in every other game?
@@ahoam Most likely for convinience, I guess? It would be easier and more efficient to just blow up the bridges, dropping everyone to their deaths (provided the glass shards don't kill them) rather than shoot everyone individually.
@@newtzrcool but they wouldn't need to shoot them individually, they could just do a firing squad to massacre the remaining players
@@ahoam Because of one very important thing... for the dramatics! They have to impress the VIP's and I'd say blowing up a bridge if people are still on it is way more dramatic and interesting then a firing squad.
@@3amhellbeast Yeah, theatrics is the only reason I can think to do something so nonsensical
“i really hope his career takes off” who’s gonna tell him LMAO
In my defense, I had no idea lmaoo 😭
what happened?
@@elliott7331 the guy is already a very famous and well-established actor. the equivalent would be like seeing jim carrey acting as robotnik in the sonic movie and saying "wow i hope he does well in his acting career"
@@tristan4206 oh lol thx for explaining!
@@tristan4206 are television and movie actors on the same level in Korea?
Maybe the reason why they pretended they kill him off in the marble game was because they probably couldn't keep them safe during the glass Bridge game I mean they could have told him what glass panels are safe but Who knows it might have been hard for Him to remember which ones are safe lol That's just a guess.
Plus, he would have to be the last person to go across the bridge for that to work. Because otherwise, anyone behind him would automatically know the correct glass to jump on too. So if he was the first one to go, everyone else would’ve made it too. But if he goes last, there’s no guarantee that he’ll make it across in time, because it depends on the people in front of him.
beanie genuinely coming up with a better endgame at 7:30 than the show is hilarious considering the factt that the show basically sets them all up but never goes anywhere with it lmao
Matthew 18:23-35
23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ 27 Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.
28 “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ 29 So his fellow servant fell down [a]at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you [b]all.’ 30 And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. 32 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’ 34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.
35 “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother [c]his trespasses.”

They could've shot them like they did in all the other games
@@ahoam what’s the fun in that? 🤣
but like... no one is on the glass why bother risk hurting a contestant thats just dumb. sure if persons were still on it BLOW IT UP
@@GalaxyVFX it was probably just set to automatically blow up as soon as the time ran out. They probably weren’t able to stop the explosion in time after all the players made it across

Aib is by far one of my favorite netflix shows
I really hope they'll be a second season
@@gachaleaf1551 we do what’s your point
So I binged the series a few months ago and I recently saw my parents watching the show, and they were on the marble episode, and it was so hard to not burst out laughing during the scene with il-nam and gi-hun, the twist makes re-watches of the show so boring, I had the entire plot spoiled and still really enjoyed the show, even the fact that I knew il-nam was the leader of the games I still cried during the part where he "died", or that just might of been because I was already sad about Ali and whatever sae-beok's partners name was, but seeing how they did the twist just completely ruins what otherwise would have been the best episode in the series, maybe apart from 1 and two since those were almost perfect
That “fly me to the moon” short solo I heard almost made me fall asleep ngl
I like the video for the most part except for when you talked about glass bridge. First you made your statement saying “it’s not a spin on a children’s game” however I think of glass bridge as hopscotch. I’m not saying I’m correct I’m just saying that’s a possibility
Then they should have to say on one foot. It doesn't make sense.
It’s not every lie, hop scotch thr only similar thing is jumping
Hop scotch Isn’t guessing where to jump hop scotch is throwing something snd then going to the place with one foot
might be a twist on tight rope? idk. the wiki states that this is the only one of the games not based on a children's game, so it might just be that
That’s not how hopscotch works tho
gosh your commentary and humor is so great! your voice is also so fun to listen to! I gotta watch more from you : ] 💕
There’s theories that he’s still alive.
No way that they could have left that all to waste.
at this point you should just be a rant animator xD
Edit: Oh wait-
😬

Mark my words, the TNT will become important in another season.
I think the twist ending could of worked if Il-nam genuinely died during the games and we found out that Il-nam was the guy who made the games, and on the last episode the detective finds out that Il-nam was the one behind it, but he loses or breaks his phone so have no evidence of the game happening, we don't find out about the detectives brother being the front man. when Gi-Hun gets on his depression after winning, Sang-woo mother convides in Gi-Hun and grieves about how Sang-woo has dissapeered and how he was in debt and she lost her house and buisness. Gi-hun convides in her about his mother's death and previous debt, and that he also misses Sang-woo but doesn't talk about the games, and he invited her to live with him until she gets back on her feet, and they work through stuff together, and she becomes like a surrogate mother to her. Cut to the future and Gi-Hun/Sang woos mum runs a small but successful business together, Gi-Hun purposely keeps his lifestyle small and modest because he still hasn't dealt properly with the survivors guilt and he's hiding the money to not raise suspicion with sang-woos mum. He's adopted Sae-byeoks little brother and he pays for his daughter plane ticket to South Korea to visit him so she can meet Sae-Byoeks brother and finally receive that birthday present she was promised, which she says that she's proud of him, that's when they hear Sang-woos mum come into the room saying that there's someone here for Gi-Hun to talk, Gi-Hun tells his daughter he'll be back and he goes to the front door, opening it to see the detective who annocences that we need to talk.
That way; Il-nams death fixes some plot holes, we have a clear plot/subplot for the next season, but also have a relatively satisfying ending for until then, Gi-hun doesn't look like a terrible father and has some character growth, and he doesn't just abandons Sae-Byoeks brother off to a still grieving, unsuspecting old lady.
I think the glass bridge exploded not to hurt the winners it exploded because when the timer ended anybody still on the glass would die because of it exploding
Yeah, but it would still hurt the winners in the process
Surely they could just, make the glass drop or something rather than going kablooey
This was as entertaining as watching the show tbh. I'm still eagerly awaiting season 2, it's a good time killer and I like the thought of people playing games to save their life basically. It was fun to see what games they were gonna choose and how they would turn it into something more violent.
I watched squid game knowing that the old guy wasnt actually dead but still cried
I haven’t even watched Squid Game so I might not watch this video... yet.
oh god I totally forgot to give a spoiler warning lol! thank you for pointing that out 😭
Just putting this out there but the accorde of gi hun does not need his créer to take off he is literally one of the biggest célébrités since forever all over asia
5:21 even if it was, the glass can't stand two people in it
Alternate ending: The old man actually dies at the end of the marble game. Everything else goes exactly the same up until the point Gi-Hun wins. Instead of being offered the job of being the next host, it is instead revealed that the prize money they were fighting for all along was the old man’s fortune and company. By winning- and playing the way he did alone the way-, Gi-Hun has now become his successor.
Basically… Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but with a higher body count.
The glass game in squid game is actually Hopscotch because in hopscotch you jump on the squares on the ground so in the glass game you have to guess instead of jumping on the ones that already have the numbers
this series is every where
Keep up this great content! def subbed :)
I honestly think the old man was supposed to get out right before the marble game. Everyone had to choose a partner and the old man had peed himself (not really thoigh he had a bottle of water with him so its safe to assume he faked that part) and there was an odd number of people. No one would've thought twice if he didnt show up again after not getting a partner. But the one lady who didnt get a partner was just takem back to the sleeping quarters because she was meant to be chosen. They didnt expect the old man to get a partner
The glass bridge could've been glass hop-scotch
Nobody's fast enough to jump from square to square, and its also too far. It does look a lot like hopscotch.
I'm pretty sure the glass bridge game is inspired by parkour, which is something most older kids do. (At least back in the 90s.) But yeah that episode was pretty annoying. I think the writers got a little carried away with making it dramatic and shit.
Yeah, i agree, I couldnt watch past episode like 5 or 6, it gets so boring and non sensical for me
Sensical *
I honestly didn’t think about this lmfao
14:21 I feel like all the guards knew he was important and he just didn’t feel like dying at that moment and had second thoughts so directed the guard to not shoot him.
5:35 That is what I always think about when I see that part
Bruh the glass bridge game was supposed to represent London Bridge is falling down lmfao
Here before this channel gets 1 million subs
I think the glass bridge is a reference to hopscotch
The detective night have survived remember we saw him get shot and fell into the ocean we never actually see him die
Ok so hear me out, I play the telltale walking dead games and in those games there are times when people "die" but you dont see the body. (Kenny "dies" in the 1st game and returns in the second game and Lily "dies" in the second) I think that logic applies to the old man "dying" in the marble game and maybe the cop (since we never saw the cops body)
As for the old man I think he may have still risked dying in games where the guards didn't shoot people directly (like he could have died in tug of war but not in the honeycomb challenge)
Honestly all that it would've taken to salvage it for me was for him to get on the plane and then maybe show him turning away from the plane window in the end so it was more open ended whether he is going to his daughter or not then have next season be about the cop that survived. Or have it be a normal anthology with new players entirely but give the cop and the front man more background so we understand them better and for continuity.
Allegedly, the screenwriter had to present the screenplay to several companies for TEN YEARS before being approved by Netflix.
Uh, yeah, I can see why it took him so long.
congrats on 700 subs! I'm only saying this because I am the 700th sub. (not to brag)
I thought the glass bridge was a twisted version of hopscotch😭😭
lots of people say the glass brigde is hop-skoch
the glass explosion is a typical Korean torture. no surprises there.🤣
The point you made where u were so confused on why they would blow up the bridge and how they didn’t do that in the other games. They kinda did, but instead of blowing up the place they shot the players that weren’t done. I will say blowing up the damn thing was dumb as hell because it caused a massive injury to one of the players. Which is not fair at all
Glass bridge blew up, because the timer went out, the green light red light, killed people who didn't make it in the timer, the honey comb, people died if they couldn't finish it time. I guess you didn't focus on the timer part in that scenario. So your argument is actually wrong.
I agree blowing it up was bad, but how else would you remove the glasses?
You deserve more views and subs
You made me laugh all the way
I can't believe that some poeple doesn't know about this master peice
New sub
I fear what might be the like/dislike ratio on this vid (which is impossibly underrated)
They added subplots because they needed filler for the show length.

@@beaniiebrian no worries you are doing great

I think the glass game was supposed to be like hopscotch I guess, idk
I thought the acting of the VIPs was intentionally casual and realistic
I AGREE IT SUCKS when people give un needed fame to something to becomes annoying but its is anoying so i hate it
The explosion in the glass bridge is a way for players to fall and die when they didn't get there in time whether they like it or not. Also, the two subplots are just their way of understanding the process behind this organization and how it works, it wasn't supposed to serve purpose but to answer the questions of how the event is being held, who knows but maybe we'll get answers on what happened to the police after getting shot by the frontman
Well, glass bridge is based of stepping stones, and squid game was some kind of game of fighting
And them blowing up the bridge is to get the people on the bridge, of the bridge
him having the guts to make this shows that he is telling the truth about his opinions in his videos, and the amount of personality he shows is why his videos are so amazing
Actually in the first game the old man wouldnt die. Its a really small detail but when the giant robot girl is trying to detect movement she doesnt detect the old man as a player.
Yeah, he pointed that out in the video
11:42 He also gets the green glow
WAIT YOU WATCH THE DUB?!?!?! WHAT DO YOU DO EAT ROTTEN FOOD AND CEREAL WHAT DO YOU DO
Calm down! No need to lose your shit because God forbid someone watched the dub over sub. This is why some people don't like watch stuff from foreign countries sometimes. Because people like you tend to overreact to people watching dub over sub. Granted it's usually better to watch the sub over dub but for Pete's stake stop overreacting when people decide to watch dub over sub. Your turning off people from watching stuff from foreign countries when you do that. Sorry for the long rant.

SQUID GAMES ! !
They blew up the bridge because the time was out and like the honeycomb game whoever was left died :)
Actually the trash acting with the rich people was supposed to be like that. I dont remember exactly why but I saw it in one video where it was explained well and it actually made sense and made their scenes good.
They probably ask them to act this way... I know some of the actors, and I think that's what happened
ok then how you say that play the glass bridge game fair, (BTW i guess what i don't like about that game is that you only need to throw the thing ounce because the glass didn't break it safe)
The squid game final game is based on a similar game here in philippines i don't remember the name tho i forgot
Patintero? They’re fairly similar with each other.
The first one reminded me of the game pepsi cola 7-up
The second is when you take 2 katols apart from each other and most of the time they snap apart. Not a child's game but it's like a mission💀
The third one tug o' war..... Is tug o' war
The fourth one's like piko
The fifth, marbles...... Is marbles
The sixth, yeah like patintero
Sooooo uhhhhh when you said they can just go through the middle of the glass bridge they are actually going to kill the player who do this
I mean there laterally a guard in there and the VIP's are watching so they cant go through the middle beacuse its not fair
See the show was amazing, it was awesome it was just the ending that made me so mad like dude you wanted to see your daughter. Why didn’t you get on the plane!!!
Oof
That ratio that I can’t see is terrible

The only reason I beleve he could have had to not get on the plane was that the person on the phone told him to get on the plane, maybe the plane would've gotten blown up, or he was worried they'd hurt his family, however the way he turned around did make him seem selfish. AND I DONT GET WHY HE HAD TO DYE HIS HAIR-
Okay.... Now you gotta watch Alice in Borderland- :D
He had CANCER and wanted to participate before he died but obviously didn't want to die but he would have to opt out before the glass panels cause they have to kill each other after the marble game also the dementia thing was just to throw him off
I was simply bored out of my mind watching squid game, it got hyped up so much and I couldn't even finish it. then my friend recommends arcane that came out closely with squid game. that was a great series and really surprised me how no one was talking about it. imo, arcane deserved the hype squid game got.
Me: sees the title of the video automatically presses it and dislikes it before he says before you dislike this video
3:56 the jumping in order rule is FAIR because NOBODY KNEW WHAT THE GAME WAS BEFORE CHOOSING A NUMBER. HENCE IT IS ABOUT THEIR LUCK OR KNOWLEDGE (AS TO WHEN THERE WAS SOMEONE WHO WORKED IN A GLASS MANUFACTURE)
Remove doctor plot and vips and have the cop get caught immediately and forced into the game in exchange for his brother who is one of the guards.
*our mains share a note card between each other that is updated after each game. The note card has everyone’s address and hopes on it in order for the winner to take care of the others

*sangwoo loses his shit at some point and admits everything he’s done in the game so far to show gihun that he isn’t the perfect man he thinks he is. This would give gihun the same perspective as the audience since he never knew about Ali
