  • Knurling a surface is the finish that is given to it to facilitate grip. It can be done by deformation, extrusion or by cutting, the latter of greater depth and better finish. The DIN 82 standard regulates the different types of machining that can be carried out.
    It is a process of cold forming the material by means of wheels that press the piece while it turns. Said deformation generates an increase in the initial diameter of the piece. Knurling is done on pieces that have to be manipulated by hand to avoid slipping if they were smooth.
