YES ... please read more chapters of more seminal books of that era. You have a great voice / demeanor for this type of content with just enough humor to keep me smiling throughout. Keep up the good work !!!
Josh, I enjoyed your reading of Hamilton’s book so much I purchased my own copy. Thank you for all the excellent information and hours of entertainment provided by your podcast.
Hey everyone lets help out our boy to trend on UA-cam with some 🐎🐎🐎 and 🦬🦬🦬 emojis!!! Believe it or not it helps in the algorithm to push him higher and anyone that's been listening knows he deserves it!!🐎🐎🐎🦬🦬🦬
I do like this format. This is a book I might not ever read due to my vision. But thoroughly enjoy hearing it read. Please continue doing the books like this. Best Wishes from Montana! M.H
I listen to a lot of audio books while I work. The reader's voice and cadence make all the difference. I believe you got the knack, Josh. Might have you a side gig. Or a side gig for your side gig.
This man may not have had very much in the way of formal schooling, but, he was a born businessman, If there ever was one. People like this guy, always do well, no matter the location, education, or vocation, this kind of personality succeeds in life no matter what path they chose to take.
What i find incredible is that during the 1870s some of these plainsmen went to lincoln county during the time of billy the kid. The people in that town are said to have given them a wide berth. These plainsmen like hamilton were looked at as some of the toughest men on the planet. Fighting indians and trapping and hunting had turned them into terrifying even to the likes of jessie evans.
Josh, I've been a subscriber for almost 2 years and not sure if I've ever commented on any of your posts. I will do better as I now understand it would help boost your channel. You asked for comments on this show as is a little different so here goes. I thought it worthy of my first comment because it brings a certain wholesomeness to day to day life where both men and women showed each other respect as long as you were polite and adhered to costumes. Job well done. Enjoyed.
My go to channel, for info on my favourite period in history!!! Always informative, always fascinating, and always funny as shit!!!! Thanks my friend 👍🇬🇧
I’ve read just about everything that I could get my hands on in regards to the Frontiersmen, the scouts, guides, Native American tribes, soldiers and fur trappers. Finding your channel and seeing for the first time what type of content you provide is a great opportunity for me to learn more about these times. I’m sure impressed with your show and as a new subscriber will work my way through all of the content in due course. Thank you for a great opportunity to learn more about something that interests me a great deal. I’m in my late sixties and just love the outdoors and reckon I was born a 150 years too late.
I was born in 1954 and I always have said I was born a hundred years to late , if one could read and write and had just a little sense opportunity was everywhere
The plainsman reminded me of a movie of the same name I believe it was a Cecil B DeMille production and start Gary Cooper as wild Bill Hickok granted it was a glorified version of the old West as seen by Hollywood, but it was very entertaining nonetheless, and gave inspiration to the many times that my friends and I played Cowboys and Indians thanks for bringing back that memory and keep up the great work
Very cool addition. Btw I didn't get a notification for this. Nothing you can do about that, just letting you know some of your subscribers might not be getting told when you drop.
Josh i got what u need. horses spears paint. And my buddy sell an cow buff tag for 700$ just let me know. Ps that place is one of black jacks hide out when we going to get that show.
Cherry creek and the platte huh??? Neat… i grew up in genoa nebraska where cherry creek passes outside town and runs to the loup two miles south of town. The platte is another 10 miles south from genoa in silver creek. Must be a different cherry creek idk about
Yeah, many of the names of rivers and creeks were called something else...or maybe he just got it wrong. For instance, he references the battle of Beecher island being on the Republican river but it was really on what's now known as the Arikara River. Back then, though, everyone called it a fork of the Republican.

They faced down the best that the Blackfeet and like could throw at 'em and they still had their scalps. That's something.

Didn’t Zane Grey write a book about the plainsman ?
I might be crazy but Adobe Walls both battles
If you scroll down far enough you should be able to find the episode I did on the first battle.
