I’m 27 and currently attend UCLA, and not having my drivers license has been the worst 😩. I went through a driving school in 2017, but due to anxiety and doubt I decided to not proceed with the test. Now, I’m currently in the midst of going through the process to obtain my license and it has not been easy. However, after watching your videos it definitely is helping with my anxiety and is making me feel that I can do it! Best, Angelica

I failed my road test last week on the 12th for failing to yield to a pedestrian and a vehicle. I had no idea that I failed to yield. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos, and so many other videos about scanning intersections so it doesn’t happen again! Before my road test, I didn’t know you were supposed to check blind spots before turning, my instructor has never said anything to me when I turned without doing so. So now I know to check blind spots twice before turning, and I now know how to scan intersections a lot better! I go again on the 25th, wish me luck!
Got say as covid kid we didn’t get driver instructors and the dmv is so back up that if you don’t pass your first time you have to way 3 months. Hoping these videos help ❤

5 months I was taking classes and finally got G2. if I think today I don't know why my instructor pushed me for the 1st road test, I'm blessed to come back safe. I didn't know what I was doing with 70kmph speed and 3 lane changes in busy intersection. Failed best thing examiner did to me. Came across your channel and practiced more and more and got G2 in 4th attempt. Checking blind spot most critical thing and failed once for it. Instructor was asking to do only one time blind spot check and I started doing twice watching your videos. when I passed examiner said that i did drive very good and twice checking blind spots is all about safe driving and fetched me good points.

I just feel so pressured when the people behind me honk and give me crazy eyes when I’m preparing to cross an intersection or when I actual stop at a stop sign….it’s so unsettling as a new driver

@5:48. The car to the right... has become my biggest pet peeve. It almost makes me NOT want to do the correct thing. The car in front doesn't have a stop sign but nowhere to go. The vehicle to the right HAS a stop sign and, also, for the same reason, has nowhere to go ... yet, he is going to cut off the vehicle with the right of way.

i like how you mentioned at the beginning of the video about vulnerable road users like cyclists i live in new york city & theres cyclists out here that don't care about nothing they'll run right through a red light if you end up hitting them your in the wrong which makes perfect sense i almost hit 3 cyclists on 3 different occasions (i dont even have my driving license yet just my permit) these cyclists in nyc & in cali have no regard for their lives
Only if you're turning or moving into a turning lane my friend. And of course, if you're sitting at the intersection and tracking the movement of another road user and she/he moves into your blind area. If I need to turn left at a complex intersection however cannot enter the left lane because it is full (cars from the end of the painted island to the traffic light), what is the correct procedure? Stay straight and reroute?
You do get a certificate for the defensive driving course. You would have to check with your insurance company to see if it would have a benefit my friend. Cheers Rick

Do you recommend turning your head to scan, or is just looking over with your eyes enough?

How about checking the blindspots too??
