Make sure that you get the 4X4 system serviced Mine just cost over £1000 to have differential and Haldex rebuilt, despite having a full service history and only having done 89,000 miles and apparently is a common problem with a lot of 4X4 SUVs
Haldex systems always break, the very nature of the coupling puts torque loading on the transmission. Get a proper system with a centre diff! Not many use them these days on their cheaper cars though.
Seems obvious in an SUV if the suspension is firmer, the seats should be softer, not flat and hard..??? Obvious doesn't seem to be in the dictionary that many car designers use.
I know it is underneath, but it also looks like a tall Focus. At least they could have made it a bit different from the car it's based on, like the Puma.
Have a look at the MG HS EXCLUSIVE. Test drove the MG and found it better than the Kuga (always owned Fords) and the equipment on the MG is standard and to get the same level you would need the ST Line X which is £6k more than the MG. That is why i now have an MG HS. Check it out.
This idea that hybrid has better mileage than diesel is soooo over-simplified. Depends on the usage. If you drive mostly in town, sure. But if you drive mostly long distance like me, hybrid is such a disaster. Unless you go for a Mercedes diesel hybrid. People are doing the wrong purchase decisions because of this kind of biased preconception.
I like your style and liveliness but... let me put it this way. Salt and pepper can enhance the taste of a dish. Add too much of them and you spoiled your plate.
Great review. Like the presentation style. Has persuaded me to take a closer look. Has ticked a lot of the right boxes (sub 40K, adaptable boot size, good engine choices, decent specs from Titanium up, luxury option if willing to spend a bit more). Tired of looking at audi's & BMW's etc and finding the price to be extortionate for the spec, and even more so once you add stuff which comes as standard elsewhere.
Just all comes down to when the reviewers can get their hands on them I guess. Also, don’t forget the press cars are also the first ones to be registered. For example with the new BMW M3/M4 the press cars are already registered on 20 plates, yet customer cars won’t start to arrive until March on 21 plates.
Have had the 1st and 2nd gen Kuga and they were the worst cars and experience I've ever had. Hope ford has managed to fix up and have better dealerships.
I've got a 69 plate st line and absolutely love it. Runs like a dream, comfy, room for the family and all the luggage and fun to drive. The fuel consumption is poor but it doesn't put me off. Top motor 👍

I think I'd go for a Toyota RAV4 instead, it has a more substantial feel. I really like Nicola, she's so refreshing, but can she go a bit more slowly so it's not rushed.
We've had a RAV 4 test drive, it was excellent, the Excel trim is the sweet spot, loads of kit. Sadly, covid and company policy has denied us having one. The Kuga looks OK but ride, interior quslity and nearing £40k, it's a non starter.
@@oliverstemp9132, Yes, it is the PHEV. Because of the weight, ride quality is very hard, seat design not very supportive either.
